Incredible legends and myths of old are true.... and deadly!
If she had only known some ancient myths are true, Juliet Greene, would never have gone into the woods that day
When she rescues a wolf from a trap, Juliet suddenly finds herself tangled in a chain reaction of events that not only cause her life and the life of her closest friend to be put in jeopardy but make her question the reality she has always known. One highly esteemed family in town appears to hold the answers she is desperately seeking, but as she searches for the truth, Juliet finds herself drawn in by the eldest son who may be more dangerous to her than she could imagine. After accidentally discovering their terrifying hidden secret, Juliet realizes she has inadvertently and unwillingly placed herself in the middle of a war between creatures thought to only exist in legends.

Picked this up at my library expecting a werewolf romance, and came away having read maybe the most amusing and terrible book I’ve read in a long time.
Now while I understand that religious Christian romantasy is not my niche, this book was so baffling that I had to talk about it.

The bad:
I think there were numerous mistakes, both with several typos and weird sentences that didn’t quite match. A lot of showing in the beginning, felt like a narration on a rip off CW show. It was boring, but the plot twists were at least interesting enough for me to keep reading it for.
These characters didn’t feel like anyone real, just very blah. There was definitely some decent misogyny in places, and a little too much of “not like other girls”. There were far too many characters to keep track of and they weren’t fleshed out enough for me to care.

The funny:
I think religious werewolves is the worst concept I’ve ever read, but it is genuinely hilarious that they were hunting the snakes and couldn’t get like the main one. The Bible had werewolves, who knew? The silver metal thing was stupid and the sentence that the dad says about not being werewolves, but being man and wolf and so much more. Lol. Omegaverse, but like worse in weird, purity way.

The rest:
If someone had said to me that my best friend’s death was a waste of a sacrifice if I leave and stop being involved with the religious werewolves I would find the silver bullets myself. That was so cruel and sad why make it a “the heroine realized that that was true her friend did die for the plot, and not because they were involved with the werewolves of it all”. I liked that Secret died (bad name) it was interesting, I liked the plot twist about Kevin.

And on the 4th day, god gave the world hot werewolves with leaking pheromones

It's refreshing to have a main character who is not perfect. Juliet Greene is an intelligent, strong willed, dynamic veterinarian who has realistic flaws. She's also stubborn, overly emotional, frustrated and opinionated, a very believable character. What I thought would be a typical fantasy novel with werewolves and a side order of romance, turned out to be a well-written novel with developed characters and plot twists. Although the reader has a feeling of the general direction the story is heading towards, the author's use of descriptive prose makes you want to continue reading until the book is finished.

Another of my firstreads books.
Quiet a nice tale about a young girl moves to a new vet practice and is working with her best friend. On her way to her new home, the two girls come across an injured wolf stuck in a trap. The two girls save the wolf and take him back to their clinic. A good story, well written, aimed at the young adult
audience, with a mix of emotion love, loss and survival, kind of plods along in parts but the ending moves quiet quickly. Yes I would read more by Lydia Staggs, and yes I would continue with this collection if I come across any future parts.

This was a great, easy read. I finished in 2 days! Very entertaining! Spice level is about a 1 out of 5. There are some religious undertones which comes across as strange in a “werewolf” story, but still well done. I get a little bored with “alpha male” types, but the main character/male is protective without being weird and doesn’t “lie” to her after the truth is out like many alpha male characters continue to do in other books. Can’t wait to read the subsequent books!

More of a romance with a twist of wolf

A good wholesome werewolf story. Romance between a human and a werewolf leads to conflicts but the storyline keeps you interested. I almost didn't read this but I am so glad I did. This is more of a romance novel with a bit of mystery but it did hold my interest. The characters are easy to like and the story flows well.

While some of the writing was not great (and I found several instances of missing words within sentences), the story was phenomenonal! Lydia makes the idea of human-wolves believable... And of course, we fall in love with them too!

Fantastic! Really great series. Well written. Some editorial disappointments with occasional typos but I’m not holding that against the author. Loved the whole series.

This was an amazing book - it is now definitely one of my favorites!!! I was captivated right from the start and did not want to put the book down! I loved the characters, the plot, the creativity, basically everything about it! This book is destined to be a best seller and would make a great movie I believe! I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read the sequel which I have just purchased!

**I received this book as a winner of a Goodreads Giveaway!

You know, the beginning seemed very generic, and I prayed that this would not be another Twilight, Teen Wolf-saga-like tale, but, with all the likenesses, this story is so much more than that.

The overall plot has so much potential for a series, and I'm excited just thinking about where this could go. It's sci-fi, with a hint of romance, situations can be fantastical but they're so relatable that you'll find yourself smiling (I even lol'ed a couple of times to the dismay of fellow train-goers).

Don't be discouraged by the hype trend of "werewolves;" the author sells it well!

I thought the book was great. It involved some romance (nothing intense) and some fantasy. Also, it kept me wanting to read more. It's all about good vs. evil, and some other things too...
