Ah Barbara Cartland. A guilty pleasure from childhood, one I still enjoy. I can't really rate any of them b/c, well lets face it, they're awful if you remove the childhood blinders. Still I can't resist.

O marquês Osborne de Linwood quase fora pego numa armadilha de sua amante e o marido desta para tirar-lhe dinheiro. Aborrecido por sua credulidade nela, ele vê-se obrigado a ausentar-se de Londres, ou acabaria sendo alvo de extorsão, já que na fuga esquecera sua casaca e cartola no quarto dela.
Ao descer a rua rumo à sua casa, quase é atingido por uma mala na cabeça, e ao olhar para cima, vê uma jovem pendurada numa corda fugindo de casa.
