Inspired by my company's 401K seminar, I requested a handful of personal finance books at a local library. This book came first and I was initially disappointed, as it didn't seem very practical. However, once I read it, I was so glad to have received this book first. This book talks about money in the context of what's really important--our relationship with our spouses and our meaningful work/life. This book really helped me change my perspective on the financial challenges my family has been facing and encouraged me to approach the challenges differently. This book can be a substitute for a marriage counseling, as this has so many helpful advice on how partners should talk about money. You might want to pick up another practical personal finance book after this one, but I'm glad I didn't skip this one!! This gave me great foundation on how I should think about money. I should re-read this book periodically.

This book got me thinking in a new direction, busted some money-myths I had, and really encouraged and inspired me. I even read parts of it to Dan. Some of it seemed written just for us!

Not worth the 50 cents I spent at the library sale. No helpful at all. I'll stick with Suze Orman.
