Hell Squad #1-3
So amazingly AWESOME!🙌

Marcus

5 "Let's go to hell " -stars!!

It is very rare I come across an action romance that actually delivers! It was fast paced, well put together, and I enjoyed the characters as well as the writing.

So what happens? The world has ended. Aliens have invaded earth and we follow survivors from the attack. More precisely Elle and Marcus.

Elle is absolutely likeable. Sweet and stubborn .
Marcus, total alpha male, leader of the Hell Squad and just amazing!

Normally when I read any "alien"- type of book, the female lead always get the alien. This one, not so much and it was just so good! Humans finding love and a purpose in the middle of the end of the world, it just hid a soft spot for me.
Will I recommend: Yes!!! Was it the best I have ever read? No, but it just did it for me. 5 stars simply because of that.

Best part? It was FREE! So grab a copy! And because I can't get enough of these characters, I just ordered the book on Amazon. The second book too because I HAVE to know Cruz's story!! #supporttheauthor

Cruz - 5 stars

Another well written action packed adventure! This author had really gotten under my skin. It might not be the most perfect book I have ever read, but it was perfect for me.

This time we got the story of sexy Cruz with a hot Mexican accent ( what is not to love about that), and strong and independent Santha.

HELL squads new mission is to locate and rescue humans who are being experimented on in an alien lab somewhere in Sydney. For that they need Santha, a woman who has a background with SWAT, and have been alone since the invasion . She is full of vengeance, and wants nothing more than to kill the responsible for her sisters death.

Feel intrigued yet?

I certainly do!

Will I recommend: yes!

Gabe -4 stars

An excellent read!
I was really looking forward to read Gabe's story, and as much as I liked it, I didn't love it as much as the others. And I was Team Gabe right from the beginning! Those strong, silent types? SWOON! I guess I wasn't as into this one. Still good though, love the action -romance!

Will I recommend: Yes!

Marcus
This was a really good intro to the Hell Squad series. Anna Hackett does a great job of explaining the alien invasion as the story progresses (and will continue to do so as the series continues). The story is full of rich, fleshed out characters that you'll love getting to know as you read through this series. Elle is vulnerable, but still strong. While she has many self doubts, she is determined, intelligent, and very good at her job. Throughout the book the reader gets to watch as Elle works to rediscover herself in this new life. Marcus is a complete alpha male. He is hard headed and incredibly protective. He makes for a great leader with a focused (though sometimes one-track) mind and great skill. Where Elle wears her heart on her sleeve, Marcus isn't so great at expressing his emotions. They make an unlikely, yet perfect couple. While different in so many ways, they compliment each other. Marcus helps her to believe in herself and she helps to round out some of his rough edges. The only sad thing is the loss of a character so early on. While the reader doesn't get to know that much about him, they can still feel the loss to the team and all of the characters in the book. Great book and definitely a series I'd recommend reading if you're looking for action-packed romances!

Cruz
The series continues with the story of Cruz and Santha. Cruz is a strong, level headed individual that is typically pretty easy going and fun loving. He and Santha both fight the aliens, though in different ways, with determination and are undeterred by the danger of a job that needs to be done. Santha is vengeful, defiant, and a loner. While strong, intelligent, observant, and inventive, she is compassionate to the point that logic, caution, and safety go out the window. While having a kind heart, she is guarded. She doesn't follow orders well and is most likely to go off half-cocked. Just as with Marcus and Elle in Marcus, they level each other out. Cruz is a logical, perceptive, and patient individual that serves to ground Santha many times throughout the book. While he's protective, he isn't nearly as overbearing as Marcus. Santha brings much needed knowledge to the base and the squads working to defeat the aliens. Cruz's own sense of compassion allows him to understand how Santha feels and why she feels that way. He is able to help her overcome her own demons. While the loss of life in book one was tragic, what Santha is forced to do to a family member in this book is absolutely heart breaking. Once again, this series is great if you're looking for some action-packed romances.

Gabe
Ever since the loss of his twin brother, Zeke, Gabe has become more and more of a recluse. Feeling like he has nothing to live for, he is getting closer and closer to the edge and becoming increasingly reckless on missions. The team is worried about him, as is Dr. Emerson Green. The only time Gabe seems to feel any kind of peace or happiness is when he is with Emerson, yet he refuses to open up to her or anyone else. He's a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off. The team can't afford to lose another member, another friend. With his almost superhuman skills, Gabe is a huge asset to Hell Squad. Emerson is a caring woman who is drawn to Gabe despite his rough edges and insistence on pushing everyone away. The characters in this series continue to be well-rounded and grow with each book. It's exciting watching the team as the members are slowly getting paired off. It seems to only make Hell Squad stronger as the members are able to find an anchor and some happiness in the increasingly dreary, alien ravaged world in which they are living (and fighting).

#1 Marcus
It's post invasion Sydney, with humanity stowed in bunkers in the Blue mountains. The invasion army, similar to prehistoric dinosaurs, but a modern technology bent, are intent on supremacy and alienation of Earth's inhabitants.
Marcus is the leader of the 6 man Hell team. They do everything possible to rescue survivors and destroy the enemy.

#2 Cruz

Cruz is running on empty, fighting the alien dinosaur invaders daily, made him feel that there wasn't much to live for. Except the sight of the female loner, who had helped save him and his team a couple of times. If she would come into their base, life definitely would have a purpose.
Santha had been alone since the raptor beat and dragged off her sister's body, 12 months earlier.
She wanted revenge, so she did everything she could to obstruct the aliens. In her alone time, the image of a certain warrior flashed across her mind. No, she didn't need the distraction!

#3 Gabe

Gabe is one deadly dude, especially since his twin brother died. He had always been the silent type, but now, he was always on the outer, keeping to himself. Except for Doctor Emerson, she somehow soothed him.
So when Emerson ends up in the enemies hands, Gabe just about lost it.
How this strange relationship works, well it's hot and steamy, and you need to read it in the writer's words, to gain the full impact.

Sci-fi, alien invasion plus romance…

This is a box set containing the first three books in Anna Hackett’s Hell Squad series. The aliens look like dinosaurs! All I can think of is Jurassic Park and the raptors in that kitchen. Those guys are ugly!

Anyway, Hell Squad happens to be the best of the best at what they do. As you read through these books you’ll find that there are other squads to explore, so I’m sure this author has plans to expand for a long while.

Set in Sydney, Australia, the city has been destroyed almost completely and the aliens are hunting down human survivors. The squad is based out of a hidden base in some mountains, seems like. The technology that these warriors use was apparently developed during the time when some sort of coalition formed. We are certainly not in the current era, but many years from today.

I’m going to see if the rest of the series can be read via KU. It’s short and sweet, but there’s a lot of action and a lot of potential for the future. This author is using some basic themes and adding in those horrible aliens. It’s pretty good…

KU read and if you liked that old TV series, V, you might like this. It’s got some similarities. I like it!

Good story line

I love the sci fi story lines.
But once you've read one sex scene you've read them all. They never change, 1 part of the couple is well built, great lover with hands and mouth, the other is always so turned on like never before in their life. The author could just say they screwed like rabbits. They never get enough of one another and have trouble going on missions. One never feels they are worthy of the other person and fight the feelings. It's the same scenario in each book.

This author has a hard on for sex, in my opinion her books would be just as good without all of it.

This is a great book. With good characters that fight for freedom. When an alien race invaded the planet we need people like the Hell Squad to fight. Great performance.

Cruz

This is a very emotional book. With a great cast of characters. I absolutely love this leading lady, she’s so strong and tough. Looking for revenge for her sister she won’t stop until she has it. A brilliant performance.

Gabe

My heart hurts so much for Gabe. He’s lucky to of found such a wonderful woman to love him. With a terrible history I know his future is looking bright. A great performance.

I've not really read many science fiction type military romances before, but really enjoyed the first three books. Marcus Steele and the toughest commando team fighting for humanity's survival--Hell Squad. Battle-hardened, alpha soldiers. Men and women who never give up.
I've really enjoyed reading Anna Hackett's other books and so thought I'd give these a go. I certainly wasn't disappointed. Lots of alpha male fighters who link throughout these books. Good storylines through books 1-3 and if this is something that you'd normally read then I'm sure you'll enjoy these books too.

Great series

I’m not usually a fan of sci fi but as I’m a huge Anna Hackett fan I wanted to try them. They were action packed and full of suspense and edge of your seat action. Hell squad are some kick as# fighters. All alpha male too. Good storyline. Hot and steamy with each book carrying in the same story arc but each guy and girl are different. So there’s not any repetition. Once I started I couldn’t put them down.

I absolutely loved this box set, binge reading it over a couple of days!
Hackett grabs and holds your attention about how people are surviving and fighting back after an invasion as she draws you into each characters world. She leaves you wondering what is happening with all of the characters, not just the two that are the main focus for each book.

SERIOUSLY SEXY, COMPLETELY CAPTIVATING AND DELICIOUSLY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Hell Squad Box Set
Author: Anna Hackett
Designation: Books One thru Three, Each is a Standalone with NO Cliffhanger
My Rating: FIVE SERIOUS SEXY, ACTION-PACKED STARS*****
OMG! I love, love, love this series! I first became aware of Anna Hackett's Hell Squad Series a few months ago when I noticed Hell Squad: Marcus, the first book of this series was offered as a free download from Amazon. Well, like so many other folks, I just can't pass up a freebie so I said, what the heck, I'll try it. Since it's free, I have nothing to lose, right? And oh my glory! How in the world have I not heard about Anna Hackett before now??? Where have you been my entire life, Anna Hackett??? I don't know but I'm so glad I finally found her and the Hell Squad Series. In less than two days, I read the first three books in the series and I'm a fan for life! I adore romance, I'm addicted to adventure and I love science fiction but it's just so darn hard to find a great combination of all three - until now! Anna Hackett's heart-pounding Hell Squad Series has given me all three, neatly wrapped in one fabulous package! I didn't think it possible but Cruz and Gabe, the second and third books in the series, are even more fabulous than the first. And I do mean more - more everything - more danger, more drama, more adventure, more action, more aliens, more emotion, more heartbreak, more passion, more romance and more steamy sex! The story is original, imaginative, modern, fast-paced, action-packed, thrilling, gripping, romantic, seductive and hotter than a firecracker on the fourth of July! The dialogue is smart, raw, gritty, imaginative, flows effortlessly and the narrative is exceptionally well written in the third person with alternating points of view. But the characters are my favorite element of this book. The heroes are hunky, take-charge, alpha males and the women are spunky, courageous, kickass heroines and their sexy, strong, take-no-prisoner attitudes will definitely ignite your imagination, light your fire and capture your heart! They are simply magnificent! Hackett skillfully combines these elements into a brilliantly spine-tingling masterpiece of science fiction/romance. Thrills, chills, a few techie frills and a whole lot more! This is a white-knuckle, emotionally charged ride that will have you grabbing your chest, gasping for air and screaming for vengeance! Seriously sexy, completely captivating and definitely entertaining! What did I love about this book? Everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend this series? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does include some dreamy love scenes. Will I read this author again? Absolutely, just as soon as she releases her next book!

Earth has been attacked by a reptilian alien race, the Gizzida, and the survivors are struggling to fight back and regain control of the planet. Much of earth's population has been destroyed but a few have survived and are desperately seeking a way to defeat the enemy and drive them from the planet. Members of various divisions of the military have banded together and are now fighting together alongside brave civilians working from Blue Mountain Base, a secret underground military installation just outside Sydney, Australia. And the meanest, most vicious and most skilled unit of them all is Hell Squad led by Marine Staff Sergeant Marcus Steele. Begin the thrilling adventure with Marcus and his team of rough rebels as they attempt to destroy the aliens and find love along the way. Sparks fly! Desire burns! Passion flares! Love ignites! Action abounds! And we have lift off! I have to say, this is one of the most realistically written science fiction novels I've ever read! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

I read each of the three books offered in this collection previously. Marcus, the first book of the stories was offered as a free download but I read Cruz and Gabe using the Kindle Unlimited program. Each of the books can be read as a standalone with their own happy ending but I highly recommend reading the entire series! Many of the same characters appear in every story but each book features one member of the team finding love in a new world under impossible conditions, and while battling aliens. Strong, decisive heroes and beautiful kickass heroines! Sigh...It's just so thrilling!

The three first books in the Series are highly entertaining and captivating. The first book is a great introduction to the Series. Marcus is handsome, and sweet. Marcus and Elle are a perfect match. The second book is a good continuation of this entertaining Series. Cruz is such a wonderful character! Charming, sexy, and caring. He made an awesome couple with Santha. Finally, the third book is really interesting with complex and intriguing characters. Gabe is enigmatic, strong, and caring. Emerson and Gabe are perfect together. I like these stories with alpha protective men, and smart and strong women. The transition between each stories is well done. The world building is intricate, and captivating. Each story is interconnected with an ongoing plot. I liked the characters, the brotherhood, the action, and the adventure. Jeffey Kafer and Samantha Cook did a great job with the narration. I liked their voices together. This is a great Sci-Fi Romance, and I enjoyed it. Now, I am looking forward to listening to the fourth book in the Series.

Marcus

This is a deceptively short story. But it packs a mighty wallop!!!

There are sexy alpha-male soldiers, who are at home with having females on their team, who are just as kick ass as them, if not more. Sci-fi thriller meets romance in a tightly woven package.

Set in futuristic Australia after an invasion of reptilian aliens has blasted most life from the planet. A team of special ops soldiers, civilians and techs band together to rid the planet the best they can of the invaders.

Elle, a former party girl, is now the Hell Squad comms officer, and she is damn good at her job. She has a bit of a crush on Marcus, the squad leader and wants to show that she is no longer that shallow, vapid girl she once was made to be.

Marcus and Elle have been denying their feelings for one another. There are sexy scenes but not in depth and mostly happen off camera as it were. I highly recommend this novel especially if you're into sci-fi romance.

29685771.jpg

Cruz

More sci-fi/fantasy shenanigans down under with Hell Squad! Cruz meets his match in Santha. She has been a one woman wrecking spree against the Gizzida over the last year. She leeps into the fray and helps them out with intel and when the aliens kidnap some scientists she is drafted into the team.

Fabulous read and Cruz keeps up the mainline of Alpha that feeds these stories. I freely admit that I am addicted. Onto the next!!

Gabe

It's finally revealed that the Gizzida have come to Earth to “assimilate” the human race by transforming them into the reptilian Gizzida. Hell Squad found the transformation tanks and the ravaged bodies.

Gabe, warrior extraordinaire and mighty hottie lost his twin Zeke and is struggling with the loss. They both appear to have been experimented on as children as there are some "enhanced" senses in play. But he totally lost it when Dr Emerson Green got herlsef captured. It would seem this man mountain has a soft spot for the petire Dr!

Emerson has a lot on her plate. She is suffering from PTSD, treating the various injuries at the base and worrying about what will happen when the birth control wears out! Since the arrival of the aliens casual sex has been more open as humans struggle to survive. Soon there could be the pitter patter of little feet about the base - but is that such a good idea whilst the threat is still so intense?

Poor Gabe thinks he's not good enough for the brilliant Dr and Emerson thinks she is too uptight and broken because of her PTSD to satisfy the huge warrior. They are both so sweet but slightly dim! Neither can understand the link they feel between them as something other than gratitude.

I loved this book so much. Gabe is so unassuming even though he takes up half the room and Emerson may be smart but she is kinda emotionally stunted after her ordeal! Gizzida are the scourge of the universe and you can real feel the anger the team generate when they find the experimentation tanks!

I purchased the books individually and have reposted my reviews here to make it easier for anyone thinking about purchasing this wonderful set!

MARCUS: This is a short story that moves along quickly. The world building flows throughout the story without an information dump that interrupts the action. This author does a wonderful job of including humor, steamy romance, sci-fi elements, and action. The story grabbed my attention immediately and kept me reading furiously to find out what happens next. The romance between the two main characters blended well into the whole story. Secondary characters were important to the story and the author showed enough of their personalities so that I can't wait to read their stories!

CRUZ: This second book in the series works as a stand-alone, but is even more enjoyable when reading in order. In this futuristic world that the author has created, it is a fight for survival by the human race. Action fills the story, but is easy to follow without complicated words or drawn out descriptions. The romance is steamy between the alpha hero Cruz and the former SWAT officer Santha. The secondary characters enhance the story and give the reader hints of the ones that will be featured in future books in the series. Moments of humor help balance out the desperate battle for survival. There isn't a cliff hangar at the end of the story, but the war against the aliens continues through the series. The author has won this reader over and I anxiously await the next story in the series! Disclosure: I received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

GABE: This can be read as a stand alone, but it is so much better if the series is read in order. The fight between the humans and the aliens keeps the excitement going from book to book. The author does such an awesome job of blending sci-fi action, humor, and steamy romance that the story flows smoothly from the beginning to the end. The author gives enough descriptions and details that you can picture everything in your mind, but not so much that the story gets bogged down and drags. It was wonderful to see Gabe discover that he isn't alone and for Doc Emerson that everyone depends on, to have someone to be there for her. I highly recommend this book and the whole Hell Squad series. I can't wait for the next one. Go, Humans!

This is a review for Hell Squad – Gabe which is the only book in this box set I have read so far:

This was an exhilarating and totally absorbing story to read, and I enjoyed it very much, even though this is not normally the type of genre I read. In a world where alien raptors are kidnapping and experimenting on humans, Emerson finds she has to deal with an unending stream of sick and injured. When she herself is held prisoner, not once but twice, Hell Squad, the roughest, toughest and deadliest of the squads, comes to her rescue. Gabe, the team’s toughest soldier brings comfort to Emerson, but he has his own demons to contend with. Gabe doesn’t take orders, but when he puts not only his team in danger, but Emerson also, his priorities change. The story is full of action showing the lengths taken to destroy the raptors and free those they have enslaved. This is followed not only by the extraordinary relationship that develops between Emerson and Gabe, but also between Gabe and his team. This is a well put together story, which I would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved these books! I had forgotten how much I love science fiction but this series has reminded me just what a great genre Sci Fi is and when combined with Romance, look out. I grew up reading all kinds of Sci Fi / Fantasy and somewhere along the way forgot my roots. As an adult I discovered that I loved to read Romance / Erotica but am happy to report that this series combines the best of both worlds.

Marcus, Cruz and Gabe are all alpha heroes who believe they can never be good enough for the heroine. When these couples come together the sparks fly. If you enjoy a good, fast-paced romance with Science Fiction mixed in -- get this set right away. You cannot go wrong with this book.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I had the pleasure of reading these books when they were originally released and can certainly recommend this series. These stories feature the survivors of an alien invasion and believe me the Gizzida are truly fiendish. Now luckily the men and women left are never going to bow down quietly and these books chart the beginning of their struggle not only to survive but to win ! Each book features a different couple and adds yet more depth and information but luckily there's always time for a little romance ! Expect danger, snark and action but most of all expect to care for these brave survivors who face horrors beyond compare.
