Stringed Instruments Of The Middle Ages: An Illustrated Guide isn’t exactly what I thought it would be. For a history (as in research book), it had no index, only two parts, and the illustrations were mostly very crude. The narrative seemed okay but having to leaf through endless pages to get to what I needed was no easy feat. Even then, it didn’t really give me anything to work with. At least it made for a good reference on the bibliography I needed. Note that it had no copywrite or publisher or publication date anywhere in the book. I’ve never seen anything quite like it make it to print. Only recommended for hard-core.
