They must unlock the mystery- before time runs out. Unwrapping a puzzling package and finding a clue launches twelve-year-old cousins Sophie and Jessica into the dangerous mystery of The Treasure Key. They're soon racing against time-and bad guys-to be the first to find the long-lost treasure.
Even though Shannon L. Brown always loved to read, she didn't plan to be a writer. She earned two degrees from the University of Alaska, one in journalism/public communications, but didn't become a journalist.
Years passed. Shannon felt pulled into a writing life, testing her wings with a novel and moving on to articles. Shannon is now an award-winning journalist who has sold hundreds articles to local, national, and regional publications.
"The Feather Chase" was her first published book and begins the Crime-Solving Cousins Mystery series. The eight-to-twelve-year-olds in your life will enjoy this contemporary twist on a Nancy Drew-type mystery. Shannon was born and raised in Alaska so she had fun writing "Falling for Alaska," the first book in the Alaska Dream Romance series.
Shannon lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her professor husband and adorable calico cat.

Another fun mystery that Sophie and Jessica help solve! The last mystery literally involved feathers haha This time there is actual TREASURE to look for! As in gold 🙊 It was fun to see them piece together clues and it was nice that they had backup this time and adults took them seriously! Haha I did lose interest a lil around 25% in, but then it picked back up and I really enjoyed the mystery and loved how the girls solved it 😄
Excellent. Has a workbook that goes along with this. My daughter was enjoying Nancy Drew and so we gave this new version a try. A quick read for age 11 avid reader.
The Treasure Key, written by Shannon L. Brown, is the second in this series. I received this series mainly for my 11 yr old daughter who really doesn't like to read. I've read an adult book written by this author and thought it was great. My daughter loved the first in the series and also has enjoyed this one. She said it was a great story of a lost treasure and loved the girls in the story. She's very close with her sister and felt that Sophie and Jessica reminded her of her relationship with her sister. No doubt I'll be hearing the story played out multiple this summer between the two as they always love a good mystery to act out. I loved that Brown was yet again very capable of keeping her attention while she got into this story. Totally recommend this read especially for those kiddos that might not like to read...it'll keep them pushing through just to see what happens!
