Tyler Westbrook, better known as Johnny Depth, is taking the adult film industry by storm. With his playboy looks, it’s no surprise a few coworkers have attempted to take things off set and into the bedroom, but Tyler refuses to blur the lines between work and play…until the new assistant to the director walks in.

Jemma Morgan was recently fired from a lead role on a kid’s TV show that was supposed to be her big break. Unable to get another acting gig, she's accepted a job in an industry she never expected to be a part of. Although she anticipates being shocked her first few days on set, nothing could prepare her for the moment she's asked to hold the reflector as her ex-boyfriend plows through a woman like a Kansas cornfield.

In a world of butt-plugs, lube, and fake moans, is there a place for a second chance? Exes and some serious ohs…the term ex-rated just took on a whole new meaning.

When Tyler kisses me, I swear it’s as though the boundaries between our bodies melt away, and we become one person. It’s always been like that, and only with him. My very soul bleeds into his with this kiss, my body betrays me because as much as I want to say I don’t want him, he’s right. It’s a damn lie.

 photo a46891f5042eac4928bf0ad8d44d47d2_zps1fqoggx4.jpg

I don’t know why but every time I hear of a romance with a porn star, my interest is piqued! This is the first one I’ve read where the tropes are friends to lovers and second chance romance Two of my all-time favorites!!

Tyler Westbrook once had a very bright future ahead of him. He had a full scholarship to NYU with plans in majoring in Law. But when Tyler moves to New York, he ends up partying too hard and loses his scholarship. Now he’s living in Los Angeles and is desperate to find a job that pays well. He’s been stripping at Male Revue and a customer, who happens to be a porn star, suggests that he meets up with her producer. Tyler ends up interviewing with the producer and lands the job. He never thought in a million years that his life would end up this way. He’s not exactly proud of what he’s become.

Jemma is an actress on a popular children’s tv show. A sex video of her and her ex-boyfriend, who is a famous rock star, ends up going viral, which also results in getting her fired. She’s desperate to find a new job but the stigma from that sex video follows her everywhere and roles become scarce for Jemma. She ends up interviewing for a job as a personal assistant for a very popular Porn Producer. He also happens to be Tyler’s boss. Coincidentally, Tyler and Jemma were childhood friends who became so much more during high school. They were each others first everything.

The two actually cross paths at a nightclub first and instant chemistry ignites. After getting totally plastered, Jemma goes back to Tyler’s place and these two have the HOTTEST time between the sheets ever!! But the next morning Jemma runs off and plans on never seeing Tyler again since he broke her heart into pieces all those years ago when he went off to college and stopped all communication with her. She’s in for a rude awakening when on her first day at work she gets to witness Tyler in action. It throws her for a loop but also enrages her because he failed to tell her that he was a porn star.

Tyler and Jemma are still very much in love with each other but how can they pick up where they left off when Tyler is a porn star and doesn’t plan on quitting anytime soon? Can Jemma overlook the fact that Tyler will be having sex with many other women while being in a committed relationship with her??

I really enjoyed this one, except for the unexpected MM scene that got thrown in there. MM is not my cuppa at all so I cringed a little when that bit crept into the story. It’s really a short blip, but still I could have done without it. I will say there is a funny scene towards the end having to do with MM that I did enjoy and at the same time it made me love Tyler more. This was a really short and entertaining story. Definitely worth one-clicking.

I laughed and laughed and laughed. It's hilarious , cute, sweet book about Tyler "Johny Depth" Westbrook and Jemma Morgan. They are childhood sweethearts but have drifted apart as careers took them separate ways. Jemma nurses a broken heart because apparently, Tyler left her without a goodbye. What a twisted , funny coincidence, she works as a PA to Hudson Mathew, a porn film maker and in walks Tyler !!!
some very smart lines are written
"Hate is product of failed love only when you can't find it in you to let it go"
And it highlights a pretty good characteristic-" a job shouldn't define you as a person unless you let it. Who you are on the inside , that's what should define you , not something you did without thinking about the repercussions down the road "
A thoroughly enterataining book, you wont be able to put it down .
Go read it !!!!!!!!!!!

Well…guess, I'm in the minority with this book. Again.

This is my first book from Stevie J. Cole, so I didn't have any expectations except for what was revealed in the blurb. And the blurb was decidedly intriguing: a down on her luck actress who got fired from her role as a lead actress on a kid's show meets the hot, up-and-cumming (sorry, can't resist) pornstar who just happens to be her ex! Sounds like a freaking good time read, right?

Unfortunately, it wasn't. And I could point to several issues I had with this book which severely affected my overall rating and review.

Issue #1 – Lack of depth in both the plot and the characters.
Lack of depth – Yes, this is erotic romance and not War and Peace but I still expect my romance to have a decent plot and a decent character development. Unfortunately, the only thing that's deep about Exrated is the depth of Johnny Depth's thrust.

The plot never really went anywhere. The reason for their first break-up was mentioned but it wasn't expanded on. I'm still confused as to why. Tyler supposedly went off the rails and fell in with a bad crowd but again, nothing concrete was shown. It was all very superficial.

Issue #2 – Tired and clichéd characters
Apart from the plot, the main characters have no dimension to them. They're all very clichéd and two-dimensional. Ditto with the secondary characters. Jemma's best friend Heather is annoying and foul-mouthed. She's basically there to make dirty jokes and of course, to highlight how amazing and wonderful the heroine is. Basically, all the women who isn't the heroine in this book are nothing but cardboard cutouts. Same goes for Tyler's dude-bro, wingman whatever. Just tired and clichéd.

Jemma is just unlikable. Jemma is an actress who got fired from her lead role in a kid's show after a I thought it would be a good plot point to showcase her character. But most of the time, it was mentioned as a jest or as a joke. And the jokes weren't very funny nor were they clever.

She also acts sanctimonious bitch most of the time. I get her issue with Tyler being in the industry. I get it. But instead of thinking about it like an adult and hearing Tyler out, she accuses Tyler and basically the people he works with as the scum of the earth because they do porn. Instead of showing how people in the industry are still people with lives and ambitions, this book basically confirms every single cliché about porn stars that you could think of. Jemma's attitude towards one of Tyler's co-stars made me dislike her more.

And Tyler? What can I say? There's nothing about him that would make me take notice. He just bored me. There's nothing remotely interesting about him.

Issue #3 – Lack of chemistry
I absolutely did not feel any chemistry between Jemma and Tyler. The only thing I liked about their relationship was when they were still kids. The flashbacks to their childhood was actually the only thing I liked about this book. The rest of the time, I just wasn't feeling why they even want to be together. They were supposed to be in love but between Jemma's judgmental attitude against Tyler and porn stars and Tyler's flakiness, I was over their "relationship" before they even began. I couldn't care less if they get together or not.

Issue #4 – The underdeveloped conflict

The only conflict this book has was Tyler's job. Jemma wants him and he wants her but because he's a porn star, she can't do it. As I said above, this was understandable. Gemma does have a good point but there comes a point where as a reader you actually want the characters to confront and work on their issues and not, say, drag it out throughout the whole book. Which is what happened here.

Jemma gets turned on by Tyler and her heart goes pitter-patter but oh no, he's a porn star. He's scum! The lowest scum. Jemma is back to feeling things again but a few pages later, she's again disgusted because yuck, porn star.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

I found myself vacillating between irritation and boredom. There was a lot of things going on but none of it was pushing the story forward. I would have liked to get more insights into what broke them up in the first place and how Jemma's sex tape changed her character but nope. Instead, I get lame jokes about gay sex, period jokes, etc. All of which not funny in the very least.

In hindsight, maybe I should have just DNF'd this book but apparently, I like self-flagellation so much I went and finish it.

5 Johnny Depth Stars!!
Loved this baby!! It was so good I couldn't stop once I started. Best friends to lovers and then second chance! It was awesome!!!

Tyler messed up when he was in college and lost his scholarship. Four years later and he is a stripper when he gets an offer to do some porn. One day his roommate pulls up a sex tape and Tyler's shocked that it's his ex girlfriend.

Jemma's world is falling apart. After waiting three years she finally got a part in a kid friendly show. But then gets fired because her ex boyfriend/rockstar let their sex tape get stolen and it's all over the Internet. Her and her roommate are out at a bar dancing. Jemma gets the thumbs up from her friend when a hot guy starts grinding on her on the dance floor. Imagine her surprise when she turns around and sees that it's her first love Tyler.

Jemma is pissed at Tyler because he broke up with her after being gone for 6 months at college. She lost her boyfriend and most importantly her best friend. They get shit faced and one thing leads to another and they have sex. Hot up against the wall, on the floor and on the bed sex! Whew! Tyler tries to tell her all night that he works in porn but Jemma doesn't want to hear it. She thinks he's trying to apologize again for dumping her. Imagine her surprise when she's working as an assistant for Tylers porn boss and in walks Tyler known as Johnny Depth.

This damn book had me fucking rolling!!! Jemma and her roommate Heather killed me!!

“That good, huh?” I shake my head as we make our way down the hall to the front door. “I can’t even begin to tell you how fucked up this is.” “Oh, shit, did he have a little dick? I hate when that happens. All hot and fucking stacked and then they drop their drawers and it’s like, really? What a fucking waste.” She opens the door. “No, Heather. Jesus, you are such a perv.”~Lmao! Loved her!

Jemma and Tyler were smoking hot together! Good lord!

He teases my entrance. I grab his face to kiss him, but he turns his head, sucking one of my fingers into his warm mouth. And then, he sinks his finger inside me, my body involuntarily clenching around it. Tyler pulls my bottom lip into his mouth and bites down on it.~ Yummy!

I loved how we got a few flashbacks of them together when they were kids! They kind of had the enemies to lovers vibe going on too. I just can't tell you how much I loved them!

Jemma had a hard time with her feelings when she finds out Tyler makes porn movies. Of course who could blame her. I'm positive I couldn't date a porn star! lol Tyler was just doing his job and I felt SJC did a fantastic job portraying how much Tyler just wanted Jemma and not the girls he screwed on camera! He knew he should of never let her go four years ago and was going to do anything he could to get her back.

When Tyler kisses me, I swear it’s as though the boundaries between our bodies melt away, and we become one person. It’s always been like that, and only with him. My very soul bleeds into his with this kiss, my body betrays me because as much as I want to say I don’t want him, he’s right. It’s a damn lie.~Jemma

My first May pre-ordered book was a huge hit!! I'm so happy! I love this author!! If you like it hot and steamy and love best friends to lovers then you better go one click this one! You won't be disappointed:))

Stevie J Cole you need to get to writing a book about Heather!!! PLEASE!

5 HUGE ENTERTAINING STARS!

OH MY! MY! MY! EXRATED was a full on naughty read about a SEXY ASS PORNO STAR! It also just happened to be hilarious at times too. This is not your everyday romance novel. It was a raw and in your face erotic romance. I tell you, I learned a thing or two about making porno flics while reading it. As for my regular rating system, well it simply does not apply for this type of read, at least not for me.

I LOVD the hero Tyler and like his fans, I wanted to jump his bones too! He was SO HOT and had an enormous cock which he definitely knew how to use. And dimples when he smiled, oh yeah, just thinking about him is getting me all worked up AGAIN. But the thing I LOVED the most about him was how much he cared about the heroine Jemma.

Jemma, I liked her too. I completely understood a lot of the feelings she had towards Tyler being a porn star. I felt bad for her about the way some things went down for her. I have to say she had one wicked best friend. The two of them had me rolling with laughter.

These two win the award for stubbornness but when they let their guards down and surrendered, let me tell you ladies, it was SCORCHING HOT!!

I thought the backstory, how Tylor and Jemma grew up together added a softness to an otherwise hardcore story. I smiled while reading these parts and I felt it was just what this story needed.

The ended was EXCELLENT and could not have ended in a better way.

This WAS my first read by Stevie J. Cole and I definitely plan to read more of her books in the near future.

Special Note: This book is not for everyone. If porno bothers you, DON’T READ IT!! If it bothers you that the heroine had to watch the hero fucking other women while making a porno, DON’T READ IT! These things did not bother me. I did not feel he was cheating as they were not a confirmed couple at the time. If you think, hell yeah, sounds good, GRAB IT! Especially if you have Kindle Unlimited like I do and you too can read it for free.

Oh and sorry about no pictures and gifs in this review, I’d surely get flagged again and I refuse to let that happen!

Tyler and Jemma were childhood sweethearts and shared many firsts together. Upon graduating highschool, Tyler was accepted to NYU and they parted pursuing their own interests. As time passed, they lost touch but Jemma really didn’t get over their break-up, as she felt their love would endure. Due to unexpected circumstances, Tyler finds himself in Los Angeles and is offered a job as a porn star with the name “Johnny Depth.” While Tyler doesn’t readily accept the position, he can’t turn down the salary and pursues his career.

"That’s worse than any name I’ve thought up. "It's fucking gold,” he says with a smile. “Shit at the ideas I just had. Pirates of the Lesbian, Who's Eating Gilbert’s Grape, Charlie's Chocolate Starfish..."

Jemma’s career as an actress on a children’s program was going well until a certain hacked private sex video went viral. With her name and reputation labeled as toxic in the industry, Jemma must struggle to pay bills, but the only decent paying job her agent can secure is working as a PA for a porn director.

"Well, I mean, what I deem professional may not be professional to you, chicken. Professionalism in an industry where it's common courtesy to come on your coworker is a little different, you know?"

Of course, Jemma is under the impression Tyler is living in NY and is completely blindsided when their paths inadvertently cross again. While Tyler cannot believe his luck and he is so happy to find his “Titch” again, Jemma doesn’t let Tyler off easily. As they navigate their way back in each other’s lives, there are some mildly angsty ups and downs, mostly instigated by Jemma, and some funny moments too. However, the deeply rooted love they share for each other is apparent and Tyler isn’t giving up on them this time.

“This is how it’s supposed to be with us.” He cups the back of my head in his hand. “Push and pull. You know that, titch.”

“You make me want to do things I shouldn’t.”

Augmenting to the romance, is the porn industry element and it adds so much humor to the plot due to the character portrayal and funny situations. The porn actors are portrayed respectfully and not like caricatures, so they really add dimension to the story. I was truly laughing out loud many times! Jemma’s friend, Heather, also deserves mention because she is one feisty, dirty mouthed girl! Lol!

This author is new to me and I found her writing to be engaging and entertaining. Stevie Cole is able to successfully write drama, humor and some steamy sex scenes with ease. The characters are endearing and you cannot help but root for Tyler and Jemma. This book is about a second chance at love and staying true to oneself.

Who doesn't love a second-chance, friends-to-lovers with a bit of a hate-to-love you kind of vibe?

This book had some fabulous elements to it. The main characters - Jemma & Tyler - are both equally great in their own ways. I loved how they were reunited while each at their lowest point in life ... it brought a complexity that made the light "fun" nature of the story much more expressive and meaningful. Heather (Jemma's best friend) may very well be one of my favorite funny female sidekicks ever - she is f'ing hilarious! And I adored the backstory to the main plot.

This whole book was a really great, easy read. There are definitely some heavy elements to it, but they're dealt with in a way that makes the reader feel comfortable. Overall, I was happy to get my hands on a book that managed to make me laugh one minute and swoon the next. Oh, and did I mention how incredibly sexy the whole thing is ... but I guess the title probably gave that part away.

A book I'll be recommending to friends!

DNF @ 42%

I couldn't really connect with the characters. I thought their flashbacks were the best things going on in the story. I think what ruined it the most for me was the vagueness in the reasoning behind their first break-up. I needed to understand why the H broke things off, especially if I am supposed to feel like they are meant to me!! He seemed all about the h and was pursuing her like he really did care for her, but if that was the case then why did he end it?!? Just because it was long distance? These people were supposed to have a strong connection since they were 6/7, so I would think that some distance wouldn't mess that up...maybe I'm wrong...maybe not. AND the mention that he had a girlfriend right away after breaking up?!? What the hell? all of that doesn't make me root for the H in getting the h back when I don't think he deserves it. Bummer, because this seemed like a fun story.

Oh! I'm sure you can tell by the blurb alone, but this is probably Not Safe for my safety gals ;)

I think the cover of EXRATED is misleading because it looks quite serious and erotic. The story is about a hot young porn star so obviously it’s got to be sexy. What the cover doesn’t convey, however, is just how freaking hilarious this book is. It’s basically a rom-com with erotic elements, so you should be prepared for foul language, dirty talking, explicit sex, and lots of tongue-in-cheek humor.

Tyler and Jemma have loved each other since they were six. Despite a painful breakup and a four-year separation, their attraction is as strong as ever when they unexpectedly meet again. In her position as a production assistant—NOT a fluffer—Jemma has to work on set while Tyler films his porn scenes. It’s an uncomfortable situation to say the least, and she uses the awkwardness to get even with her ex, resulting in some hysterical scenarios. Their love-hate relationship is filled with witty barbs that I thoroughly enjoyed.

There’s definitely some heat and sexual tension between Jemma and Tyler. Surprisingly enough though, while the porn scenes are erotic, they’re mainly of the humorous rather than panty-melting variety. It’s an unexpected take that makes the story even more entertaining.

I want a friend like Jemma’s roommate, Heather. She probably has the foulest mouth I’ve ever seen and a wicked sense of humor. She’s crazy and loyal. Basically, Heather is the Thelma to Jemma’s Louise, and I loved her.

I didn’t understand some of Jemma’s decisions towards the end, but overall EXRATED is a fun and sexy romantic comedy. I will definitely read more of Stevie J. Cole’s work.

This is NOT safe! I am giving it two stars just for the cheesy porn names Johnny Deph (haha) that name really cracked me up! I don't normally like this type of book but the witty banter and the way the heroine constantly made fun of him was just too funny. So yeah two stars for making me laugh!

Title: Exrated
Author: Stevie J. Cole
Category: Romance, Comedy
POV: Dual

HEA: Hmm...you'll see...

Omg!!! The most hilarious book of the year!! Excellently written!!! It's been a while since I've had so much fun reading a book and incidentally, it was a book with a similar theme.
Tyler is a man who suddenly finds himself in the adult film industry. He was a stripper but somehow ended up making adult films for a living. He went into it a bit blind and nervous, but in the end he became a master at it.

"Tyler Westbrook is not a porn star name."
"Yeah...uh I've been thinking about that..."
"Fucking Johnny Depth!" he shouts. "You're a goddamn Johnny Depth!"

Yup. And here we have famous porn star, Johnny Depth...and famous he is.

Jemma is an actress but after a huge scandal with a sex tape going viral, her career is ruined. Her ex, a famous rock star, is the cause of her misfortune and she is powerless to stop her private life from ending up all over the internet.
She loses her job and the stigma follows her everywhere, making her unable to find a new acting job. So, when she accepts a position as an assistant to a porn film maker, she has no idea what awaits her.
Seeing Tyler, her childhood sweetheart, star in porn films is not what she expected at all.
Tyler and Jemma were together but Tyler's mistake drew them apart. When they meet again, hidden emotions will once again resurface.

He believes he can still hurt me. And I wish he couldn't.

Love is too strong but can their feelings stand Tyler's porn star status? Can they ever be the couple and friends they once were?

The book was amazingly written. Funny and witty, it had me in tears of laughter. The author's dialogue was fantastically done and the storyline executed to perfection! The push and pull between Tyler and Jemma was thrilling and there wasn't one single boring moment in this book.
The characters make mistakes, they are flawed but they are well rounded and real!
This was my kind of book! Do not miss this great book. Youl will have an amazing time with Mr. Johnny...Depth. What are you waiting for? One-click today!!!

I'm not going to rate this book because if I did, it would be a 1 star rating. I can't in good conscience do that because, I knew what I was getting into before I decided to read it. The book was pretty much a massive cheat-fest.

The hero in this story, Tyler, is a pornstar for 90% of the book and Jemma, the heroine and his ex-girlfriend, had to watch him stick his penis and shove his face into other women's vaginas repeatedly. Tyler even did a scene with two women while Jemma watched on. This all happened after he had sex with Jemma a couple of nights prior and conveniently forgot to mention he was a pornstar. Which was not okay. At all.

I forced myself to finish the book because, I thought the hero would at least stop doing porn a quarter of the way through, and then spend the rest of the book trying to rebuild his relationship with the heroine. Nope. Tyler continues performing while trying to win Jemma back, he even sleeps with her multiple times, twice without a condom. And Jemma, being the smart and fierce woman that she was, managed to resist for about 2 seconds before she spread her legs for Tyler. The book is basically about a cheating douchebag trying to have his cake and eat it too and the idiotic girl that lets him.

If you're interested in reading a pornstar romance with a hero that's actually lovable and reformed, try Stinger by Mia Sheridan, and skip this book 'cause it'll leave a bad taste in your mouth.

This book is all the things! One of those rare books that you can’t put down until it’s done. Love, love, love it!

Imagine. You’re Jemma, a down on your luck girl and the only job you can get is as an assistant to a porn director. Then one day, you go to work and your one true love, your soulmate, the one that got away, Tyler, is none other than Johnny Depth, the lead porn star in the film you are working. AND you have to stand there and shine a reflector to make his rear sparkle on screen while he bangs another woman. How would you handle it?

That’s the question that hooked me into reading this book. And I’m so glad I did. It’s un-put-downable, angsty, friends to lovers, second chance romance goodness. The bickering between Tyler and Jemma is of the love-to-hate-you/hate-to-love-you variety and it’s fun to watch them go at each other. Their push/pull banter kept me turning the pages, while their backstory pulled at my heartstrings. The comic relief, though, was all Jemma’s best friend Heather. She was a riot! I think I highlighted most of her dialog. She’s the most raunchy, unapologetically sex-crazed female side character I’ve ever read. And she was HILARIOUS!!! I would love to see her get her own book. *hint hint*

If you’re not afraid of angst and other women (because come on, this is about a porn star after all), I highly recommend this one.

I requested this book because of the blurb, but I kept reading because of the writing. This is my first book by Stevie J Cole, so I didn’t have any expectations going into in it. I just knew that I was curious about what happens when you stumble upon your ex at a porn shoot.

Can you say awkward?
awkward

Let me start by saying that I think the author’s writing is fantastic. I enjoyed the book, even though I had a couple of problems with the actions of the characters (I’ll get to that part in a minute).

Jemma is an out-of-work actress, having been fired from her children’s TV show over a leaked sex tape (privately made, of course). Tyler is a college drop-out and former stripper who finds himself making loads of cash in porn. Jemma and Tyler grew up together and thought they had a love that would last forever. In reality, their relationship didn’t make it past high school. Now it is several years later and fate has brought them together again. After a chance run-in and a steamy night of passion, Jemma and Tyler realize that their love is still there, but life has made them into totally different people than they were as kids.

Jemma is struggling financially and finally scores a job as a PA to a porn director. Her first day on set brings her face to face with Tyler as he is about to ‘perform’. Like I said…it’s awkward. Truthfully, I didn’t have a problem with Tyler working in the porn industry. I mean, he’s a grown adult and to each their own. However, I did have a problem with Jemma holding it over Tyler's head for almost the entire book, using that as the reason she couldn’t give him another chance. It all felt very hypocritical on her part (I mean, she had a very public sex tape!) and the constant back and forth between them dragged on a little too long. I will say that Tyler's persistence to win Jemma back did score some redeeming points with me.

As I said before, what also saved this book from a lower rating is the writing. I was definitely impressed by it and the story was told in such a way that I became totally absorbed while the pages flew by. I think I forgave some of the iffy plot points because of the way they were written. All I know is that this book was entertaining if nothing else, and I will definitely be reading more work from this author based on the writing alone.

Holy smokes!
This was funny as hell :)
Porn star and an actress working for children's television programme... sounds incompatible, right?
Hilarious and hot all at once.
Don't miss out on this one.

Exrated by Stevie J Cole
3 stars!!!

“I’d fucking ruin you if you’d let me.”

This was a fun read from Stevie J Cole that embraced two tropes that I love to read about, second chance romance and love/hate relationships, add to this a porn star element and my curiosity was piqued.

“What defines him is the way he loves me, and that is something no one will ever be able to taint or ruin. After all these years, turns out we do have that epic kind of love that can withstand anything.”

Tyler, stage name Johnny Depth (cue eye roll) was a man that had literally stumbled into his current job as the all new up and coming porn star. Women and men alike had pushed him to the upper echelons of the porn star world and he was fast becoming famous and extremely desired. Tyler was not always destined for pornography though, he had a full scholarship to university to study law and being a 4.0 GPA student he should have made it. But playing hard, partying harder had led to his scholarship being stripped and after a stint as a stripper a talent scout had picked him out for the porn industry. He made money, lots of money, he had no issues with his job until he crosses paths once again with his ex, Jemma.

“The thing with love is it’s fucking stubborn and so am I.”

Jemma had never gotten over Tyler, after a long relationship through school and college she thought that Tyler was her one and only, they shared all their firsts together, but alas when he moved away, he dropped all contact and broke her heart. Five years later and our aspiring actress is singing “Let It Go” from the top of her lungs as an “Elsa” in a kid’s TV show. However, her acting life hits the skids when her ex rock star boyfriend allows a sex tape to go viral and the kids tv channel drops her like a hot potato. Now desperate for work she finds herself hitting an all-time low as she gets a job as a PA to the King of Porn.

Tyler and Jemma do actually meet a few days before Jemma starts her new job, she finds it is Tyler grinding behind her at a club which leads to a night of hot and sweaty sex and a lot of regrets, but none more so than when on her first day at work, it is Tyler in front of the camera with another woman.

The relationship between Jemma and her best friend was really funny, the dialogue between these two had me grinning from ear to ear and really lightened up this story. While we are treated to flashbacks of Tyler and Jemma’s past I didn’t really connect to them as characters or as a couple. There were a few instances where I internally cringed and Jemma was a bit flaky at times and that irritated me. Tyler though was totally blinkered, I could have easily slapped him about and told him to wake up and smell the coffee, he was delusional. But it did make for an entertaining read and while I liked it, I just didn’t love it.

So, today’s feature is guy on guy ~Jemma
OMG. You are watching this right. Right now? ~ Heather
Yep, Dick in asshole. Balls a swinging. ~ Jemma
I hate you. That’s so hot ~ Heather
It’s weirdly hot. ~ Jemma
Send me a picture. ~ Heather

This was a quick book to read, it was fun and entertaining, just didn’t give me that character connection that I crave.

“I’ve loved you since I was six, and I’ll love you until I’m ninety-six, even if you aren’t really mine.”

Blurb. Check.
Writing. Check.
Storyline...nope.

I love porn. I was excited to read this cause, helloooo, it's about porn. The storyline was going smoothly from the beginning but then it didn't. The problem for me was the heroine was to wishy washy and I wanted more angst. There was some but when certain things happened, the angst wasn't delivered. It had it's funny moments. I didn't like the way it ended. Felt sitcomish. *shrugs shoulders*

Exrated was such a disappointment for me. I loved Stevie J. Cole’s A Love So Tragic, she really conveyed the depth of emotion and the connection between those two main characters.

Unfortunately, that isn't the case for Exrated. I know this book is meant to be funny and lighthearted, but for me, it was neither. Everything about this book was shallow--plot, character development, dialogue, even the internal dialogue of both main characters, Tyler and Jemma. These two bickered constantly--even if that was their relationship style, it just didn't appeal to me at all. Perhaps if it had been witty banter, but it was just repetitive insults that went nowhere and didn't serve to move the story or their relationship forward. I found them both very immature and not particularly likeable. Of the two, Tyler did come across as the more mature, and Jemma did have flashes of self-awareness, but it just wasn't enough for me. The flashbacks to their childhood and teenage years didn't convince me these two were soul mates, and each flashback was much like the rest. None of the secondary characters were appealing either. The supportive best friends were crude and juvenile. Perhaps I'm just too old to appreciate these types of characters and situations.

The one bright spot for me, and I'm not sure that is an accurate description, was that it did make me think about the reality of being in a relationship with a porn star. How would someone deal with watching the person they love have sex with other partners, as a job. I understand the difference between sex as part of your job, or as a purely physical act versus sex with a person you care about or love, but how would that feel to be the partner of a porn star? Jemma did consider this very briefly, and somewhat superficially. I thought her reaction was immature and off the cuff, without real thought or consideration. To me, this was a missed opportunity for some much-needed depth to their story.

I'm not giving up on this author, this book just wasn't right for me.

Exrated was a hilarious and sexy story. About porn none the less. I've read one other book by Stevie J. Cole, A Love So Tragic and it took my breath away. Literally. So I went into this book with some different expectations since I read the blurb and knew this was in the romance comedy genre. Stevie J. Cole nailed it. This was so different and yet so good.
I haven't read many stories about the main character being a porn star but the ones I have didn't do it for me. This certainly did.

I liked how Tyler viewed his job as just a job as unconventional as it was. But it was also something he wasn't proud of. I laughed my ass off to his thoughts. Just his first meeting with the porn director was pure gold. He's a looker with a bright head on his shoulder and his relationship with Jemma, whom he'd known since they were kids, proved more important than anything. They were each other's first everything and hadn't seen each other in years. She's a beautiful aspiring actress with a crazy ass funny friend Heather. Emotions and memories proved to be too much for both of them when they started working together. They had so much history and their attraction was palpable. I could easily understand Jemma's reservations when it came to Tyler's job and to start a relationship in the entertainment business.

Stevie J. Cole's writing was flawless and she executed the humor to perfection. I never expected porn to be so much fun since it's pretty much just dumb dialogue, sex and annoying moaning. Everything from porn names to doing a sex scene was written with such an ease and subtle blend of wit and charm. Her characters were very likable, relatable and so full of humor. If you're in need of a good laugh and romance then Exrated is definitely the book for you.

This is my second romance read that included a PORN STAR, and let me just say, I'm REALLY diggin' this genre! Much more than I thought I would actually. I've never heard of Stevie J. Cole before but after coming across the blurb for EXRATED, I knew I needed more because my interest was definitely piqued! On top of the HELLA sexy cover and the interesting synopsis, there was the fact that this is a second chance, friends to lovers romance. It doesn't get much better than those two tropes I'll tell ya that right now!

Tyler and Jemma were magic together! The sexy chemistry, the sharp-witted banter, the overall emotional connection and comfortability they shared was perfect for this story! The first time they crossed paths...omg! The second time they crossed paths...SUPER awkward! But I enjoyed every minute of it! The sexy moments, the sweet moments, the unbelievable awkward moments...it all just worked brilliantly in EXRATED.

Scorching hot, delicious, and just laugh out loud fun, EXRATED was an entertaining read you don't want to miss!

Are you ready to meet Johnny...Depth?

Well, this was different... I've read loads (although sadly not all) of Stevie J. Cole's books and I've thoroughly enjoyed those that I have read.

When I saw the cover for this book, I guess I had my own preconceived ideas (I hadn't read the synopsis - SJC's name was enough for me) and boy was I far off!
This story is hot as hell in some places and side splittingly funny in others! I've got to admit that I may have cringed a time or two too.

Tyler is a great character and you can't help but feel drawn to him immediately.
Jemma, understandably, has her reservations which I could totally understand.
I don't want to go into the storyline too much (the synopsis will give you enough to go on) but I'll just say that some of the dialogue is highly entertaining.

This book is well written and edited and it flows seamlessly....I read it easily within a day. So if you're looking for something lighthearted and amusing, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

This was crazy

These two and crazy, they make you laugh out loud at their bickering. Tyler and Jemma have loved each other since she was 6. However they go separate ways and then run into each other again. The way she finds out what he does for a living is funny. So much back and forth but eventually they get their HEA!

Stevie J Cole's "ExRated" was one of those books that was so different to what I was expecting it to be but in such a good way. For some reason, I was expecting a story that was a little darker or twisty and I think that came from the fact that the only other book I've read by this author is "Absolution." Add to that the very hot but very dark, greyscaled cover and I put two and two together and got five because Jemma and Tyler couldn't have been more opposite if it had tried!!!! If you're looking for a story line that is definitely different, is absolutely smoking hot and has a huge side order of side splitting humour, then this book is for you. "ExRated" was a brilliant, funny, sexy, quick read that had me captivated from start to finish.
"One more thing. Go ahead and beat one out, would you? Need to see if you're a dribbler or a shooter. That's gonna be one of the two clinchers on whether you get the job."
"Like right now? Jerk off right here- in your office?"

This was childhood sweethearts, second chance romance. Tyler and Jemma met as kids and became best friends. They were inseparable and as fate would have it, their friendship turned into so much more. Unfortunately their college years lead to a break up that left Jemma devastated. Tyler was the one. He was the love of her life and he had chosen college over her. it was unforgivable. Years later, a few bad choices on both sides lead to couple's paths crossing in the most unlikeliest of ways. Who'd have thought down on her luck Jemma would end up being an assistant in the porn industry. Who'd have thought Tyler (I'm going to be a hot shot lawyer) would end up flat on his back in a porn film!!!!

I loved the way "ExRated" unravelled. The build up was brilliant because I could just see how everything was going to unfold and it was not going to be pretty. There was still so much animosity on Jemma's part and she was not in the forgiving mood when it came to the boy that had broken her heart all those years ago. Now was the time to have a little fun. Now was the time to make that boy squirm. Now was the time for payback and she really was going to make the most of it, even if it did kill her a little each time she saw him doing the do with one of those plastic barbies.
The thing with Tyler is he's not just a part of my past, he's every single memory I have of my life.

I loved Jemma's character. She was brilliant and so funny. I could completely relate to her inner conflict because on the one hand, she hated Tyler for everything he had done in the past but equally, everything he had become. But love is love and you can't just turn those feelings off. Now Tyler was a pain in the ass. As cute and stubborn and comical as he was, he drove me mad with some of his decisions and choices. If you want the girl, fight for her but it was almost like he was hedging his bets!!!! Bloomin' men!!!
"Well, I mean, what I deem professional may not professional to you, chicken.
Professionalism in an industry where it's common courtesy to come on your co-worker is a little different, you know?"

The banter between Jemma and Tyler was priceless. This was war between the couple and the claws had been drawn. May the best man/ woman win!!! Throw into the mix a crazy as hell best friend called "Heather" and the comedy value of the story turned up several notches. Some of the scenario's the characters found themselves in were just hilarious (as you can imagine with the porn industry) and some of their antics were priceless.

If you are looking for a book that's a little different, that will definitely get you a hot under the collar (because this book is scorching hot let me tell you) and that will have you grinning like cheshire cat for the most part, Stevie J cole's "ExRated" is a must. I mean seriously... "Pirates of the Lesbians," "F**k my Chest," Alice in the Wondercock," Charlie's Chocolate Starfish," "The Made Shatter," "The Lone Wanker," "Finding PussyLand," "Jonny Depth," Vee Gina," ... ha ha ha !!!
"Tyler, I love you. I've loved you since we were six. I'll love you until I'm ninety-six."

I rated this book ❤️❤️❤️❤️

How do you pair a porn star with romance & make it totally believable.Your best bet would be is to read it the way the author intended you to where nothing is hidden & everything is exposed. For maximum pleasure throw your morals to the wind, abandon your reality at the door & step into this world.

This book actually echoes the reality of countless couples that have a partner that work in the porn industry & in the end for them it's just a job to feed their families.Sean of SC & Vadim Black are prime examples of this.

Millions of people have been doing since the world was created & will continue to do so.
So ask yourself if you can separate sex from emotion?

I've noticed many readers were not fans, however I enjoyed it thoroughly. Couldn't put it down.

Jemma is one helleva individual, there's no way in hell I could've kept from losing my shit in a major way! Tyler, well he was a sweetheart that just made a piss poor choice at the worst time possible. And then there is Heather, I loved her, she was a hoot. Every girl needs a friend like that in her life. Anyhoo, I was more than pleased with the way this story ended.

This book started out promising but dissapointed big time. I couldn't get a feel of the characters and they were really annoying. Especially the main characters. The convo's were over the top, felt like the author was trying TOO much. Oh and lets not forget how rushed the ending was.

Not going to say anymore, just that I don't recommend this book.
Only finished it because I hate leaving books unfinished.
