Excellent read! I haven't read the whole series yet but each book I have read stands on its own. Fast paced and new twists at every turn! This book is right up there with the other books I have read by this author! Keep up the great stories!

If Dan Brown researched about India and threw in something supernatural, this might be the result.

I love how this author weaves the plot to give you a highly entertaining read. I was hook with the first audio of hers I listened to. She has a talent for putting different religions and their many different beliefs as they race to save the world and sometime destroy depending on their beliefs or whose side they might be on. Each feels they are right and others are wrong. Their one goal is to reassemble Shiva which is a statue to get the gods attentions for Asha.

The plot is outstanding as the

This latest ARKANE story/book is the best yet, Penn has outdone herself in developing a
complex story that keeps the readers interest, as well as sending the reader on further
research missions to delve deeper into topics she has included in the story.

Penn’s ability to weave various religions and their beliefs into her stores is on full display in this
book with Hindus, Jews, Catholics, and Muslims all

After the events of One Day in New York, Morgan and Jake are reunited for this new ARKANE thriller. As with every book in the series, the pair must stop a villain from gaining access to a dangerous weapon. This one has the power to destroy thousands, if not millions, and ARKANE itself comes under attack as Asha Kapoor seeks to do the bidding of Kali, the Hindu goddess keen on destruction. It follows the usual twists and turns of a thriller, in the form of a treasure hunt, only this time the ...more

I received an advance copy from J.F. Penn for my honest review and I also purchased it from

Absolutely awesome, my first read with anything supernatural in it, and surprised that I would like it. Guess it helps that J.F. Penn's writing style just grabs you, has your undivided attention with a tale of good verse evil and you just don't want it to end.

Destroyer of Worlds an international thriller that starts in London with a bomb going off, then has you crisscrossing India, Rwanda,

Destroyer of world's. J.F. Penn

This is book 8 in the Arkane series. Referred to as Shiva nataraja this is an ancient artifact of tremendous power and destruction if it's energy is harvested with evil intent. A sadistic group of followers is focused on unleashing what is termed the "brahmastra" which has the power of an atomic or nuclear device. Agents Dr. Morgan Sierra and Jake timber are tasked with recovering the pieces of this artifact before they can be assembled and it's power is unleashed.

You know how you can't wait for an author's next book to come out...? That didn't go all the same for me since I got a sneak peek at the book in exchange for letting you folks in on my review of the book.
This Arkane thriller is super awesome in that Morgan and Jake are back together and doing a great job getting to the bottom of things. Throw in a murder at the beginning of the book, some religious fanatics, memorable characters and you have all the settings for a superb page turner. I couldn't

Another excellent installment in Penn's ARKANE series.

Penn has really come into her own as an author. The characters have developed over the course of the books and become deep, interesting, and multi-faceted people that I thoroughly enjoy spending time with. She brought together the quick-pace and action of a thriller, with mythology, theology and stunning descriptions of places around the world. This is a book for people who enjoy thrillers with many layers than can be read again and again.

Love this Arkane adventure – you can feel the heat and smell the streets as you read.

Having followed Jake and Morgan the lead characters through other adventures I know what they are capable of, and will their success and their happiness. Yet, Joanne holds us, the readers, at bay, not always giving us what we want which makes the stories all the more compelling.

The blend of magical, crime detection, and a local setting so well described that you are transported into the smells and sounds, is

I really did enjoy the book. I have read the complete series. I joined her Pennfriends and received an advanced readers copy. I like how the characters are evolving. Each book, I learn a little more about the characters. I have visited many places where the books have been set and definitely very accurate. This book kept my attention and loved the action. I am just a slow reader but will remember the plot for years to come. Morgan and Jake have become 2 of my favorite characters. I hope nothing ...more

Exciting, action-packed, strong characters - totally believable.

The reader is (willingly) taken on a non-stop rollercoaster ride, with Morgan and Jake, to stop those who would let loose the forces of evil. On this journey you learn more about the characters themselves, but also of other people's culture, myths and religion.

The reader is right there, experiencing everything. You can smell the spices, the sweat mixed with animal and human blood. Feel the heat, the unwashed bodies as they pass you

Destroyer of worlds by Penn is an action packed adventure. The tension is constant as the reader has a rude awakening in London. The protagonists, Morgan and Jake, jet from one Indian town to another in search of pieces of the Shiva, broken up so mayhem may not ensue. Parallel to their search is the antagonist, Asha, who wants the power according to her guru. Will Morgan and Jake, with no time for a dalliance, find Asha and the Shiva pieces in time? Their director, Marietti, also ends up in ...more

After a shock attack on ARKANE HQ in London, Morgan and Jake race across the world ending up in India attempting to stop the putting together of a statue that will become a weapon of mass destruction . Once again Joanna does not disappoint and set a a breath taking speed you hardly have chance to draw breath. Great characters as always and more about the key characters past comes to light. Well researched and loads of interesting information about India and its culture. Keep up the great work ...more

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC... one of the fastest paced books I have read. JF Penn has woven a rich tale about power and belief. The complex country of India, including it's complex religious structure, are the setting. The power of: Religion, Earth's Energies, and, Mysticism interweave with Truth, truth, Falsehood, and lies. The conviction of a true believer committed to a course, however misguided, affects hundreds...potentially thousands. A Beautiful story with vivid imagery shows JF Penn is an ...more

Morgan and Jake's adventures in the world of the supernatural continues in Destroyer of Worlds. Joanna delivers another thrilling read that also provides education about various faiths, some of their practicrs, and a glimpse into other cultures. While there is some graphic violence, it serves to underlie the religious culture being investigated. Another 5 star read. I can't wait for the next book. I did receive a free copy of this book but I enjoy this series so much it is a pleasure to review ...more

Recommends it for: those who like a good dose of local culture in their books
An enjoyable read, but I liked book 1 in the series better because the tension was better sustained throughout. I rarely read books with supernatural elements, but Penn lays it on light enough that I enjoy this series. I also like the way she adds just enough history and cultural background so that people like me who know very little of India do not feel lost and learn something in the process without feeling I attended a history lecture. I'll continue to read more in the series - Crypt of Bone ...more

Another great ARKANE adventure!

I love going on missions with Jake and Morgan, and exploding the ARKANE headquarters made for an interesting plot point.

A race across the world (and mostly India) is what is needed to save the world, and with a not-so-straightforward solution things are superbly thrilling.

Had tons of fun with this one and can't wait for End Of Days!

Well done J. F. Penn, you've done it again!

its another outing for jake and Morgan and it doesn't dissapoint. The way that j f Penn mixes the spiritual realm and human is awesome. I like the way she looks at all faiths and religions and brings them to life. The way that human nature, via love conquers the evil in this world is brought to life in her books. great book to read if you like, science, faith and technology adventures

I received a free advance e-copy of this book in return for writing an honest review.

I have read all of the ARKANE series and have enjoyed them all. They are fast-paced, action-packed and entertaining and this is one of the best of the group. It doesn't hurt that the author does her research and you learn things while enjoying a good read. I would recommend this book, and the entire series as well as Penn's London Psychic Series, which are my favorites of her books.

Awesome Book! In Destroyer of Worlds J.F. Penn has again written a suspenseful, impossible to put down novel. Dr Morgan Sierra and agent Jake Timber are off once again on a mission for the ARKANE agency to find pieces of an ancient artifact. Don't miss this well written, easy to read novel.

I received an advanced review copy of this book from the author. This in no way influenced the above comments.

Another hit by J.F. Penn. I really enjoy reading Penn's books because everyone is a bit of a history lesson. I love history with a supernatural bent. The Arkane relationship between Morgan and Jake is great but building towards a more meaningful relationship without becoming erotic. Very suspenseful and globe hopping. Really liked this book and look forward to the next one. Thank you, J. F. Penn.

I loved this book! It's just all go from beginning to end. Jake & Morgan are a great team & though I've started at the end of the series I will be reading from the beginning.
The world could face great danger a statue that can cause mass destruction is being collected piece by piece & involves travelling to India & putting lives in peril.

Destroyer of Worlds is typical of the ARKANE series of books. I love how the author takes the reader to different countries filled with great backstory history that appears well researched. This story was filled with the usual action and suspense. The ending, however, was somewhat unexpected. Another great read from J F. Penn. Enjoyed reading it very much and would highly recommend it.
