The devil cursed me? So says the handsome investor I'd met less than a week ago. I'm convinced that he's man candy sent to destroy me, filling my head with fairy tales of heroes and monsters, adventure and creation, love and heartbreak. His gorgeous exterior is merely an intricate introduction to remarkable intelligence that is fa

I burned through this book in good time, it held my interest THAT much! I already read the first eight chapters and found the pace of the work is just right. There is no confusion for the reader, but the twists and turns are many and delightful to encounter. This first time author seems to have a keen sense of how to interact with the reader, and the work presents as a labor of love. I know some well established writers that could take a lesson from Ms. Davenport in that regard.
I found the

T.A. Davenport has created a wonderful and exciting world in her novel The Great Balance. This is a book about good and evil with just the right amount of romance.

The characters in the book are very well developed. My personal favorite is Briellyn. She is the heroine of the novel, and she seems so real! She is a strong and confident business woman who is also so kind and good. I would love to have her as my boss! Another character I love is Eric. He is just all sorts of amazing. He is the perfe

This was an excellent book in my opinion. I loved each character and how I was able to connect with them as though I was part of their journey. I am so excited to read book two. Thank you Terrene for making me realize how much I enjoyed reading🤗

I have a rule; I do not start a series until it is completed. I broke that rule to read this book and it has reiterated why I have such a rule!
Briellyn described this book perfectly when she stated “Constantine meets Harry Potter” but I would further add – with a splash of romance. In fact, while attraction is defiantly a factor, I would never call this a romance novel, at least in the traditional sense. I would have a hard time pinpointing any particular genre in fact. But that is a good thing

Okay, so I'm going to be quite frank. This book is, in fact, an interesting read. The concept is intriguing and I love books based around mythology or angels. This book has both. Also, the fact that the main character is a woman of color is awesome, it's rare for me to find a book that has a brown-skinned main character and the story is fantasy based. I'm glad there are more authors with this mindset coming out with content, even in comics.

Now, the other thing about this book is that

The author's ability to mix religious concepts from multiple denominations and the story line from various individual's, without losing the focus on the lead character is amazing. I was skeptical of the story line containing too much of a love story/romance focus to it, but was swept away in character's backgrounds and how well they blended together. The author has a unique ability to wash the reader away in the story and keep their minds intrigued with what comes next. I could not recommend thi ...more

3.5 Great Potential

It wasn't flawless and the narrative was a little rocky. However, I enjoyed the storyline and I look forward to book 2.

It starts as a simple business need for capital to expand CEO Briellyn Donado’s business. Two candidates step forward, both more than willing to fund her. Brie’s partnership with Eric Windsor is more than just business though. He needs her for a greater mission.

Brie was very willing go help Eric out with his other mission. After quickly signing investor #2’s contract without studying it, Brie immediately hires an interim CEO based on a very brief interview of a candidate recommend by
