Wicked Steps

Rate this book
Strong language, explicit sexual situations, M/F. F/F. 18+ If anyone had asked ten years ago, I never would have imagined I’d be a thirty-five-year-old widow today. I could tell you I married Hartman Wick out of love, but it’s complicated. We were friends. He was dying. And he needed me. He also made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Of course, I agreed with the very best of intentions. But we all know what the road to hell is paved with. All I ever dreamed of was owning my own gallery. A place where my best friend and I could introduce the masses to inspiring and new artists. Hartman promised me the deed to the gallery, wealth, and security for the rest of my life. Instead, I find myself in a war with his estranged son Kieran—my stepson and one of the most prolific painters, known for his erotic shock art. He’s been plotting revenge against his father for years, and now that Daddy’s dead, he’s seized the opportunity. Between the constant battles, heated exchanges, and threats of blackmail, I find myself inexplicitly drawn to this twenty-four-year old. He’s beautiful, seductive, arrogant, and evil. Not only is he a gifted artist, but he’s certainly inherited some of his father’s more unsavory traits. He truly is a Wick. But then he takes things too far and pushes me to my breaking point. I’ve had enough. In retaliation, I make a plan. And I almost feel sorry for him—almost. I’m sure, even as a child, he was never read a single fairy tale. Poor bastard. He has no idea how truly wicked a stepmother can be.

Let us take a moment please, just to stare at the cover model.....and another minute, please. Yes.
Did you know that the model took the picture as a 'selfie'? Yes, really, a selfie. Without photoshop! I tell you, even if the book had been rubbish I still would have hugged it to my bosom (believe me, I barely restrained myself).

The book was far from being rubbish though, indeed it was so darn good and so drama-licious. Ellery, a 35 yr old widow is our female MC while, Wick, the male MC, is a 20 something-year-old extremely successful artist but he was also Ellery's.....- wait for it...da da dum - stepson *gasp*.

I bet you're wanting to know what went down, you dirty old gal you. Well then, come closer... it was somethin' somethin'-I'll tell you that much. *cough cough*. That's all I'm saying.

She hadn’t a clue. When I argued, I always won. This wasn’t a dispute. It was more of a shit storm. And when the dust finally settled, she would realize the actual war hadn’t even begun yet.

A frustrating read, but it makes you feel!

This book was exactly what I needed now! An angst fest and many "WTF?" moments! It is one hell of a roller coaster that you read breathless. However, if I were going to grade only the hero or the heroine regardless of the book, let me tell you that both would get only 2 stars out of 5 from me.

So, I reiterate:
The book: 4, maybe 4.5 stars
Characters: 2 or max. 2,5 stars

This book came to me at the right time. I was craving for feelings of all kinds. It gave me all the feels despite the characters making me mad and frustrated most of the time.

description

Wicked Steps comes with a lot of warnings; it is not for every reader. It includes all of the below:

A really wicked bastard hero... Outside too beautiful, inside too evil!
(He is even more frustrating than the Vicious in L.J. Shen’s book, if you have read it.)

Very high angst
(You may need to store antacid tablets with you because it made my stomach sick with worry)

Daring hot scenes
(You may need to change clothes often, it is hot, hot, too hot!)

M F F scene but not the threesome you normally think of...
(No, I won’t tell, you will see what the bastard does when you read it... )

Description of violent/sadistic sex
(Not with the hero - not too graphic)

Age difference - woman older, guy younger
(The hero, Kieran Wick is 24, the heroine, Ellery is 35. )

Sort of forbidden love
(The hero is her stepson she never knew about before the death of her husband!)

OK, if you can stomach all of the above, it is an excellent read, you cannot get bored. It is not too dark; it is more an angst fest with all the feels! Highly recommended only if you can deal with the above situations and frustrating characters!

Some more information:

Our hero is an alpha despite his younger age, with a dirty mouth. He is a real man-whore, and an incredibly evil as*hole. But he is too beautiful with a perfect face and body, adorned with tattoos and piercings on his face and on his body (yes, there, too!)

The heroine looks younger than her age and she is beautiful. However, she makes awful mistakes and I didn't agree with her decisions most of the time.

• The hero is an artist and the heroine owns an art gallery.

• When they actually become a couple, there is no cheating, but before that he is an awful bastard!

Now, a little bit of taste, which might allure you to this crazy book!

I’d never had issues attracting women. I was what they called a pretty boy. In true deception, I had angelic looks with the personality of the devil—or so I’d been described on many occasions. My face was perfection, my body built for stamina, my tattoos a reminder of where I’d been, and well, my piercings, a sexual preference. My eyes were hypnotic. Women gravitated toward them as if they’d been bewitched.

***

I was a walking contradiction—eighty percent asshole, twenty percent charming. I used my charisma to balance out my negative traits. Women were so easy.

***

I knew at that moment I wanted her. And just the knowledge that I desired her made me hate her more.

***

I reached inside a drawer and pulled out aspirin. I had developed a headache, and his name was Kieran Wick, aka Wicked.

He wanted everything his father had, all the fucking toys.

He knew I wasn’t responsible for his pain, but he wanted me to pay anyway.

***

“She’s not a whore. You can’t buy her.”
I laughed heartily. “That remains to be seen. My father bought her. She was his whore first. Now she’s mine…"

***

“You have him, you know. I know it appears as though he’s holding all the cards, but in reality, you’re the dealer. I don’t want to know what happened while you were married, but tell him. Share everything. I know the man I love as a son is in there somewhere. You just need to exorcize him.”

***

“He’s a world-famous artist, rich, and has a face like Adonis, but regardless, he’s just a crybaby with daddy issues.”

***

He wanted to pretend I was his stepmother. I guess he hadn’t read any fairytales, so he had no idea. Not a fucking clue how wicked a stepmother could truly be.

***

"I came here for a purpose, and you fucking ambushed my plans by being nice."

***

"I haven’t met him, but any man that would violate a woman like he did you… He’s past redemption."

***

He uses the name Wicked as his alter ego for his art. I wonder if he sincerely understands the concept. He’s pushed me too far, and since I can’t prosecute his ass, I guess I’ll have to come up with an alternative plan. Something that will give an entirely new definition to wicked stepmother.

***

I suddenly felt like a child who wasn’t getting candy.

***

That simple touch made my dick hard again. Fucking brainless appendage.

***

I thought about what I’d done to her and everything I’d said. She could actually hurt me right now. This bitch could turn me into a eunuch.

She crawled beside me and wrapped her hand around the base of my cock. “Ah. Christ.” My emotions fell somewhere between lust and panic, and my stupid cock couldn’t distinguish between the two.

“Even he can’t help you now.”

She was right; I had fucked with the wrong person.

***

“There is no happiness for me if I can’t be with you. You braved my darkness, and I want us to experience the light together.”

This took me forever to get through. I just couldn't get into it, and I found it rather boring. Ellery endured five years married to an abusive, dying man, essentially waiting for the inevitable payout. Once her husband is gone, she believes she'll finally be able to realize her dream of owning a gallery and be financially secure, but a son she never knew about enters the picture and threatens to take it all away.

I've never read a book where the characters' behavior so closely mirrored each other, and I think this is what annoyed me so much. It was already repetitive with just one MC saying/doing the same thing over and over again, but then the other MC would do/say the exact same thing too. It was...strange.
Once Kieran entered the picture, he kept saying he'd show her how wicked he could be. Then Ellery would say something like he didn't know what wicked was. She would show him. He would want vengeance, and then she wanted vengeance. He felt owed and so did she. He drugged her, so she drugged him. He felt guilty about how wicked he was, so then she felt guilty about how wicked she was. He comforted her, and then she felt like she needed to comfort him. And repeat.
Even in the small things, this happened. He would say that he wanted to paint her, and then she would say if she could paint, then she would paint him. It was just so very odd.

Kieran's obsession with vengeance not only didn't make any sense where Ellery was concerned, it was ridiculously overplayed. Vengeance, revenge, payback, retribution, or any other word a thesaurus would give you is mentioned around 60 times. Then, he goes from crazy, psycho, revenge wanting one track mind to "in the end, her demise meant mine, too" in 60 seconds flat. I nearly got whiplash.

There were two scenes that I really lost it though.
One, the FMCs TSTL moment

And two, the MMCs TSTL moment

A huge deal is also made about her age: "regardless of her age, she kept up with me." She's 35, not decrepit! And I lost count of how many times Kieran had an internal monologue about how sex had never been personal before, how it had always been about pleasing himself, and how everything changed now that he had met Ellery. Ugh. Repeat, repeat, repeat ad nauseam...

2 stars because it's at least well written and the cover is pretty to look at.

This is no traditional love story, its complex, its complicated and some might say its taboo, but one thing, it kept my attention.

It made a full turnaround change from the psychological thrillers I tend to read or family dramas. So its nice sometimes to leap out to something different and enjoy it.

Wicked, the male in this story was lush to look at but selfish, not grown up enough to be a man. Then the more you read about him and learn about him I did a full circle and grew to quite like him, the man did have a heart after all.

There are stormy sex scenes in here that are so hot you could get badly burnt, but the way the author has portrayed it all and written it so well you are taken right in there among the feelings of it all between the two.

Wicked, he is evil, vindictive, you will hate him, but I dare you to love him.

Very well written. First story [I think] I have read by this author. I was asked if I would like to read it, and I thought ...why not, lets have a bit of change, I am so glad I did as it was a book that truly I got hooked on.

He was here for one reason only—to destroy my life and make me pay for sins that didn’t belong to me.

After his father death, Kieran Wick come home from abroad with one mission, "to make his step mother suffer".

Kieran come with huge plan to make her begging to him because he blamed her for what had happened to him and his mother for years living in 'exile'.

I was a walking contradiction—eighty percent asshole, twenty percent charming. I used my charisma to balance out my negative traits. Women were so easy.

I had always been the one; I owned the sex I had. Women meant nothing to me. Until her...

Ellery St. Claire had lived a miserable live for years since she agreed to marry his ex boss, the old Playboy billionaire, Hartman Wick.

She knew exactly what life she gonna lived when she agreed to Hartman Wick 'agreement', but never expected that she will face the fact about her 'husband' that shocked her life.

No one know what 'deal' she made to 'play' along with what Hartman Wick offered and what sacrifices she must made to fulfill her dream.

Everything had come as what 'agreement' they both made, until her ex husband son suddenly came just to ruined her dream and make her suffer.

Right when she think she had finally 'free' from the old man, she must deal with the old man devil's son, Kieran - that attempts to make her live another miserable life and trying to ruin her dream.

But what will happen when they both started to fall for each other and broke all the 'revenge' rules?

Will Kieran stick to his plan when he know the truth?

Will there is a future for this 'taboo relationship' ?

What an interesting story to follow...

❇❇❇

I don't usually 'do' MF since I'm fully dedicated myself to only read MM about three years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I still read some MF books, but only from my fave author which not more than three person.

I become sick with all the whiny-drama queen-bitchy-TSTL females characters and stereotype alpha-billionaire-and/or-bad boy type male characters in MF books.

And it not my usually habit to randomly read MF book from new author, but not this time I think.

The book cover had stole my coverslut eyes since I saw it for the first time and the blurb put me in super curiosity mode.
So I grab this book and read it with no expectations at all.

I'm so glad that I follow my feeling this time and decided to give this book a chance.
Because I do really enjoying the reading and liked this book even I must admit that this book did not give me massive 'O' and/or fulfill my five stars qualifications, but again I LIKE IT and that's enough for me.

So if you like a naughty-step son-step mother-taboo story wrapped in quite 'elegant' and not sound too 'cheap' & 'trashy', I recommended this book for ya!

Great read

Wicked Steps has everything that you'd expect from Cory Cyr: great storyline, steamy sex scenes, intelligent and likable characters, along with her signature, older woman/younger man relationships.
Ellery St. Claire was finally in a position to get her life back on track after enduring a marriage from hell. What she didn't know was that her wealthy, dead husband, Hartman, (or Satan, if you'd like) spawned a son—a smokin hot, twenty-four year old famous artist, known to the world as ~ Wicked. Kieran Wick, has returned from Paris to take everything his father had owned. He's arrogant, self-centered, and clearly, thinks only with what's in his pants. His hatred for daddy dearest is his obsession, so why shouldn't he take it out on Ellery as well? Everything isn't as it seems—and that goes for the both of them. Equally, they both irked me when jumping to the wrong conclusions. At the same time, they individually had a boatload of physical/mental issues to work through. Watching them navigate through unchartered waters was heartfelt and sincere in the end. I highly recommend this one ~ perfect attention to detail, storyline that flowed easily from one chapter to the next, and editing nicely done, made this a five star read for me.

I absolutely loved this story. From start to finish I was gripped. Even when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it.

Ellery has been through a nightmare few years. Just when she thought she could put her past behind her Kieran enters her life with a bang. His secrets blow her mind. Will she ever trust anyone agin? Is her dreams about to disappear?

Kieran or Wicked as he's known has so much hate in his heart and Ellery is in the firing line. What happens to him when he hears a few truths, can he open himself up and grow up?

I do love a good taboo read and this was great. I've not read many step mother stories so I was certainly interested in reading it. My heart was thumping so much as I got nearer the end- I knew what ending I wanted but would I get it.

This author has a great way with words. The hot sexy scenes are so so hot. The storyline is brilliant and the characters are well developed.

This is definitely going on my re read list.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of this one. I picked it up because it was supposed to be a hot and sexy read but I didn't find it all that hot. While there were some hot scenes, I've definitely read way hotter and better written. I just couldn't get into this book at all. In fact by the time I got to the end I just found myself skimming to the sexy parts because the characters just annoyed me. I didn't feel any chemistry between them at all.

Not gonna lie, as much as I love older women - younger men romance trope, I was skeptical about this one at first. The idea of a stepmother and her (ex) step-son is very taboo and forbidden and I wasn't sure if I was gonna enjoy it.

But I gave it a try anyway. After reading the first few chapters, I thought hey, this isn't so bad! Basically this book is about a guy getting his revenge for his mother's death on his dead father's ex-wife. While the heroine's got nothing to do with his mother's death, he felt that what he was going to do her was justified. After all, what kind of woman would marry a sadistic bastard like his father right? She must be despicable.

What he didn't expect was for him to be so attracted to that woman. Half through the book he was fighting his attraction while trying to exact his revenge on her -- not an easy feat. He really crossed the line with her. To be honest, I was really going to DNF right after he

The truth came to light later about the nature of the heroine's relationship with his dead father. Now this is where it gets really unrealistic. After finding out the truth, the Hero made a complete 180. He claimed to be regretful and all of a sudden he was in love with her?! All his (not so) well-thought of revenge plan forgotten there and there. Suddenly he was all affectionate with her and so sweet. I'm sorry but it just did not work for me. The change is swift and I found myself getting a whiplash. LOL.

It just went downhill after that which is disappointing. There's a little bit drama in the end and they separated for a while. It's all just... lukewarm.

How wicked can one person be. Wether it's a step son or step mum, this story comes down to who can be the most devious.

It is a quick and juicy read so if you looking for something to put a bit of spark back into your reading then why not give Wicked Steps a go.

Honestly... I'm not even sure where to begin.... I know that there are people that are going hate this story right from the start. I understand that, but it is a shame.

If you look deeply into this story, you will see very damaged and very layered characters. These are things I love in stories. People with a history, be it good or bad, really bring something colourful to the mix and it's something I can really get my teeth into.

This is by no means a traditional love story. If you want the champagne and roses romance, you won't find it between these pages. Here you will find flaws, pain, damaged and broken hearts, secrets and heartache ... But more than that, you find redemption and love.

In the beginning I hated Wicked (the character)... He was all beauty and lust and darkness, without light or a heart. He was a selfish, uncaring, spoilt man/child. I found it hard to believe that I could ever come to like him at all... But the truth is... I did. Even though I accepted that his life had been difficult and to an extent quite tragic, I still had trouble reconciling what a complete terror he was. It was hard to believe that he could become a decent man.
Wicked is an artist. An exceptional artist. His work is in high demand and is coveted by those in the industry. He has never allowed his work to be shown in the U.S. ..... Until now. One is a very provocative piece that ends up in a gallery owned by Ellery Wick. Ellery can hardly believe that her business partner (Coco), was lucky enough to procure the pieces. Wicked is shrouded in mystery. No one knows who he is, and in spite of his art being so coveted, very little is known about the man behind the canvass. To have his work in their gallery is incredible.

I felt for Ellery right from the start. She is such a good person, with a good heart and good soul. She makes some difficult decisions and there are some very serious consequences as a result. This is not unusual, of course. As we all know, no good deed goes unpunished, and so it is for Ellery. All she really wants is a gallery, to explore her love of art and enough money to live comfortably for the remainder of her life. Thus, a deal is struck with the devil and her good intentions pave the way to hell. Just when she thinks it's all over and she can begin to truly live her life, the rug is pulled out from under her from a source she could never see coming.

If you wish to know what it is and how it all comes unravelled, you will have to read 'Wicked Steps'. What you will find is a journey of redemption for two lost souls. Both damaged and feeling unworthy of forgiveness for mistakes that are both real and imagined. Some of it is hard to read. You will hurt for both of them and secretly be cheering them on to see the good in each other.

I really loved this story, and I hope you will too.

I do love me some step-romance. Don’t judge me by my reading preference!

This one kinda bothered me though. First of all, the blurb doesn’t do this book any justice. I didn’t find her to be wicked at all. If anything, she came across as incredibly meak and demure with really no self confidence to speak of. I had a hard time liking her to be perfectly honest. Which probably affected my reading.

It was the step-son who was wicked. He was a douchebag and a half. And seriously, it read like a predators guide on how to victimize a weak woman. Cause that’s exactly what he did. He used her already fragile psyche and alienated her to the point of silence. Not attractive to me. I do love an alpha, but this guy was like two alphas on crack.

I had a hard time reading this book. It was very graphic and I would never have been so forgiving to anyone who treated me that way. But thats just not how I am built so I had a difficult time identifying with either character. The emotions this book evoked were so intense that I finished reading it even though I was a bit repulsed by their behavior. And I’m not talking about the sexually explicit stuff, that was hot. I’m talking about the psychological abuse they inflicted on each other. It was just horrific to witness from the outside looking in. ::shivers::

I was ready to put it down because the mind games were getting a bit out of hand for me. But then, the second half of the book did this weird 180 and everything was different. I got whiplash from the quick change.

And it went from being about hate and revenge to forgivness and hope. Two very contradictory things. I couldn’t find it in my heart to even entertain the idea of forgivness at this point. While I’m a huge fan of forgiveness in general sometimes things happen that just go to far and are unforgivable. Some of the stunts pulled in this book could be catagorized as unforgivable to me.

She is a better person than me to retain the ability to trust and forgive. I wouldn’t have. I suppose I would recommend this book to others, but only to people who don’t get too emotional while reading and also to folks who don’t have any triggers. This one was a bit dark.

Wicked Steps
By: Cory Cyr
4/5 stars

Kieran Wick grew up in a volatile home, where his father was abusive towards his mother and was never faithful to his wife or family. After many years his parents divorced, his father fought any monetary compensation despite being a multi-millionaire. Kieran had already begun to hate and resent his father, but after the death of his mother, he started plotting for revenge.

Ellery Wick made a deal with the devil; she just didn’t know it at the time. She first worked for Hartman Wick for a couple years and got to know him over those years. But she married him, to help him through the roughest time in his life in exchange for him buying her an art gallery and helping to set her up for the rest of her life, after his. But it wasn’t until after their marriage that she realized the truth of his nature.

Kieran is a self-made man, a famous artist who has kept his identity hidden. He paints mostly shockingly erotic art and is only known by his pen name, Wicked. He puts his plans into place and even though his father is dead, he still wants revenge and decides that his father’s young widow will bear the brunt of it now.

Ellery just wants to put the last 5 years of her nightmarish marriage behind her and move on. She desires nothing more than to continue to grow her art gallery which she runs with her best friend. But a meeting with the lawyer, for the reading of the will, reveals a shocking truth or a stepson & a will that didn’t live up to Hartman’s promises.

The tension, sexual and otherwise, between Kieran and Ellery is off the charts, their sexual encounters super-hot and steamy. They fight and pull pranks, and then they make up and eventually develop a deeper bond. But things are going to come to a head, and when they do, it predictably causes problems with the two.

This was my first Cory Cyr book. I really liked her writing. The book was on the predictable side, which was ok, because it was really well written. I just felt like I needed an epilogue to the book, to see them together as a long-term couple.

This book was another amazing work of art! The story is mind-blowing and drew me in immediately, and held me captive until the final words were read.

Wicked was tattooed on his arm, it was in his heart, it consumed him, it was his name in the art world, but it was understating the degree of anger and hate Kieran Wick truly felt. Kieran's crash course for revenge had him vying to unseat Satan and take over the title of hell's ruler. He'd been exacting his plan in his mind - his father's widow must pay for his father's mistakes, period. He planned to do to her what he wanted to do to his father - ruin her. Then he met her.

Ellery St. Claire had suffered at the hands of Kieran's father in a five-year marriage from hell. She knew evil first hand, she had married him. When he died, she thought it couldn't get any worse. Ellery wanted to regain her life. She had been promised financial security and the art gallery. She just wanted to salvage her life and find her happiness. She was freed of the devil's reigns. The she met his son.

Kieran and Elle's clash is a list of adjectives including intense, heated, passionate, and unexpected.

There's a fine line between love and hate, and these two broken sparring individuals walk a tightrope. They've both suffered at the hands of Kieran's father. So many people have. But can they get past the hate and vindictiveness?

When you despise one human being so much, you lose yourself and can make some of the worst decisions of your life.

When you love one human being so much, you can lose yourself and can make some of the worst decisions of your life.

I've read every one of Cory's book and love them all, but this one is absolutely fantastic!

You know that moment when you're so excited about something, that you want to tell everyone who will listen and when they do, you can't form the proper words. That's me right now. There's so much I want to say but I'm really unsure that it will come out exactly how I want it to, so bare with me if this review sounds jumbled.

I've read a lot of "step" books and I was really curious how this one was going to pan out because lets face the truth, when you've read one, you've read them all. However, in this case, that's not the deal. There was so much more involved in this story line. The secrets, lies and anger give this book so much more depth.

I will admit that when I first started reading it, I wasn't sucked in. Kieran is a cocky s.o.b. that currently has himself in a compromising position and I was a little turned off. Turn the page to Ellery and Coco's friendly banter and humor, and the story starts to get a little better. Then Ellery meets Kieran and all hell breaks lose. Add in the twists and I forget I'm even reading a "step" book. Add the insane attraction, the hot and intense sex scenes and I was pretty much done for. As much as the whole "step" aspect is taboo, I was truly rooting for Ellery to get her happily ever after because all the pain and b.s. she dealt with, she truly deserved it. When I got to about 94% of the book, I actually stopped reading, for multiple reasons: I didn't want to finish it, I was afraid I was going to break my Kindle because how could I get the ending I wanted with only 6% left and lastly, I knew once it was over, that was it.

I have read all of Cory's books and this one is my second favorite. You won't be disappointed one-clicking this book!

So Cory Cyr has done it again! She's blown my mind with sexually charged, intense characters who develop so well throughout the story. Kieran and Ellery are hot, emotional, and shocking! I wasn't sure what to expect, with the Stepson/Stepmom mingling, BUT I LOVE IT! Though I could envision the spectacle that would create with the media if this were reality, the truth of the plot is so far removed from the taboo one would initially assume I am speaking of. So bravo to Cory for charging this story with scandal in a unique way! Kieran comes into the picture with the intention of destroying his father Hartman Wicks legacy, including the woman who he believes whored her way to the top. Unfortunately, he doesn't expect Ellery and her beauty let alone her sassy wicked ways. Elle just wants what was promised by Hartman in return for her caring for him and or her suffering at his hands before his death, but how can she convince a cocky, 24 year old man with revenge on his mind, and hate in his heart? When she is brought face to face with the estranged son she wasn't aware existed, she realizes that she has to figure out a way! These two crash, collide, fight, and love so hard it left me wanting. There were some seriously crazy moments that had me laughing my ass off, and others where I fought back tears. Seriously! This book is so darn good, you're missing out if you don't take a chance. Thanks Cory!

When you pick up a book by an author you have never read you are taking a leap of faith. A leap that you wonder if you will regret taking or not. It's like watching an artist's plain canvas blossom from something plain to something amazing and phenomenal that will haunt your life.

This is what this book has done to me. Days after finishing it I still cannot get it out of my head, nor can I forget the stunning cover model and his soul reaching eyes.

I refuse to go into the story, I don't want to possibly ruin anything at all. All I knew when I read this was the blurb and that's all you need to know. Go into it almost blind because I promise you that you will be seeing clearly by the end.

Wicked is a character that is pure Satan, one of those characters that you hate to love and love to hate. One of those that he is so mysterious and sexy that you cannot help wish you were in the story.

Some definite "OH MY GOD" moments, ones that completely shocked me to the core. In a good way, I add. I've read far too many cotton soft romantic books lately and I needed a good book that still had a love basis but would also give me the drama and shock factor I so desperately crave.

Just a phenomenal story written in a way that will keep you guessing right to the end. Fantastic read, I couldn't put it down and I recommend it 100000%.

I'm never surprised when I read a great Cory Cyr book but I am over the moon excited when I read how great each one gets and Wicked Steps took that to a whole new level.

Think it was unfortunate that some might assume this is a cliche step-son/brother/father read. It is SO.FAR.FROM.IT.
If you know Cyr's work then you know she definitely isn't a jump on the bandwagon writer and as a reader and fan I can appreciate taking a taboo-ish topic and turning it into perfection as you'll see that Cyr clearly does with Keiran and Ellery's Wicked relationship.

Bravo for character depth and growth in both Ellery and Kieren. Fantastic story line that made it impossible to put down and had me begging for more. Great secondary characters, especially in Coco.
I love how each of Cyr's books while having the older woman/younger man element are so well written that I, for one forget I'm reading about a couple with an age difference and that In itself is a testament to the details within the story.

Prepare to read a fun and sexy tale with a spectacular twists. Wicked Steps is one click worthy for sure.

Wicked is truly wicked.

This is the first book that I read from Cory Cyr and I loved every single moment of this book. This is one of those questionable books that you love to hate and hate to love characters. Both Ellery and Kieran will make this book the best that it can be.

Though this was my first time reading Cory Cyr, I have read her other book synopses and realized that she likes to go down a more non-traditional route where always the characters had an age gap and the woman was always older. I felt that this was an interesting take on today's books because you do not often see that.

Let's focus on Kieran for a moment. It cannot be debated that he does indeed have his father's erratic behavior and wicked sense. Whether it comes from the family name or the family itself, one always becomes wicked when involved with them.

I found myself invigorated by the fresh take on books and how erotically wicked this book was. Make sure that you understand that this book involves shock art and plenty of dirty words exchanged between the characters. Will you take the chance to read this 4 out of 5 star book?

Blog you later, awesome book nerds.

Cory went above and beyond with this book. I had been on pins and needles waiting to read it for what feels like forever. I am totally enamored with the way Cory Cyr writes. She gives her characters such personality and charisma that I catch myself constantly smiling at their antics.

Ellery & Kieran have each lived their own personal hells due to one truly evil, abusive and manipulative man. While Ellery is strong and pushes through every day and owning it like it is her bitch; Kieran holds a grudge that will change the course of their lives.

This was Cory’s first attempt at a F/F sex scene and dear lordy it left me hot and bothered! However, the woman knows how to make you swoon throughout all the naughty bits. Kieran is sex on a stick and I wish he was real because he is kinda drool worthy. I would definitely let him paint me any day 

Overall the book was the total package. 5 stars all the way!

DNF @ 71%. Wickedly bad. Looking forward to Cory Cyr's next older woman/younger guy story, I wasn't prepared for reading about such a weak female character. Ellery entered into a 5-year business arrangement/marriage with her boss that would result in her owning her own Art Gallery. As time progressed, it became abusive and violent, but she stuck through it for the prize at the end. When the details of their deal weren't executed as originally discussed, Ellery found herself negotiating with the Devil himself; her stepson. What began as pure hatred and revenge stemming from long-standing Daddy issues, turned into sexual blackmail and then love....overnight. I think I hated Ellery's spineless character more than Kieran/Wicked's annoying one. The day started out with hate, progressed with a screw, and finished with love. Ridiculous. This was insta-love at its best. I stopped there, my time too valuable to continue reading.

I truly love the writing style of this story. Cory Cyr grabs your attention and doesn't even let you buckle your seat belt before starting your ride! This is a story about a man child whose father abandoned him and his mother. After he learns of his father's death, Kieran WIck decides to visit his father's widow, determined to destroy her.

He wasn't counting on Ellery to actually be human and abused by his father. After some turmoil and misconceptions, Kieran (Wicked) learns that she is not the woman who ran off with his father. Wicked was not prepared to fall in love with Ellery.

As she is his ex-step mother, can they really have a relationship that will not be destroyed by the paparazzi? Will he continue on his quest to destroy her as he feels someone must pay for all his pain?

Hold onto your seat as you embark on this adventure. Some scenes have explicit abuse forms and should not be read by those faint of heart.

Definitely a wild and amazing run~

Too much dalam penceritaan nafsu-nafsi. Terutama si cowok brondong yang udah kayak orang gila. Katanya sih nanti tiba-tiba si cowok brondong bakalan berubah jadi sweet sama si cewek. Tapi udah telat, sampai saya baca sikapnya keterlaluan.

I'd been in a book slump lately, having two DNFs, but this blurb caught my eye, as did the hot cover! I love an older woman/younger man story and this didn't disappoint. I loved Ellery's character, she'd be through hell, but I loved that she fought for herself and then sought revenge. The chemistry between her and Keiran was hot, and he redeemed himself in the end. Great, quick read!
