Eli wasn't really surprised when she found her boyfriend with another girl on her bed. She was used to people disappointing her. But she couldn't help but be angry and sad for what things could have been. She knew Ryan since she was ten. She had hope. But now she deems the male gender to be all alike. To get her mind off of Ryan one of her best friend's, Rachel, hatches a plan. She decides that if Eli believes that all men are the same then their new neighbor deserves a taste of what they all ...more

This book was quite a bit different from what I was expecting but nonetheless I ended up enjoying it. Elis heart breaks when she catches her boyfriend cheating at a party in her own house. Along with Elis two best friends- Rachel and Ash, they decide to spend their summer at Ashs beach house left by her grandfather before they start their respective colleges. Rachel

Elle was living the life of any teenage girl. She had a cute boyfriend, college plans and a kick ass graduation party.

Sure, Elle and Ryan understood their two year relationship would come to an end once they left for college, but what Elle did not expect was to find Ryan in her bed with another girl.

AT HER GRADUATION PARTY!

Well, Elle showed Ryan what she was made of by sending him on a trip to the ER and all I can think about is

I almost like it, because I think that Eli's character is well portrayed, she has a lot of issues, she is not only cynic, and I didnt understand why Jessie was so pissed, Eli did try to explain.

All was a big mess.
Although I did like the end.

Absolutely love Jesse. He is kind, sweet, gentle and understands so much more that Eli thinks. He is also patient and needs to be with Eli. I didnt blame him at the near end when it came to Eli. She did him wrong the whole summer by lying to herself and him about her feelings and the bet that was all kinds of wrong. Yes I felt for Eli about her parents and the douchenozzle boyfriend but this bet was horrible. Just mean and hurtful.

Eli was hurt badly and her trust is brought to an all time low in

At its roots, How to Get Your Heart Broken, by Rose Fall, feels solid. A group of high school friends spend the summer before heading to college at the beach, finding out who they are, and for Eli, mending her broken heart. Described as Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants meets John Tucker Must Die, it feels a little like both, but the story eventually gets overwhelmed by one too many things going on.

After Eli finds her boyfriend cheating on her, she seeks an escape. She heads to the beach to

After reading this book I felt very confused. Dont get me wrong I enjoyed reading this book, but I think some of the events could have happened in real life and I guess I personally wouldnt have done the same things, which affected my opinion.

My main issue was around the bet that happened between the girls. I dont think I fully captured the terms of the bet and what was supposed to happen. I could see betting for the guy to fall in love with one of them, but the others back off once he shows

More reviews at The Books Are Everywhere!

This book really shocked me. I absolutely loved it.

The plot...as I started reading, I found it a little predictable, and I was actually really scared the whole book would be that way. But around halfway through - things changed. Everything became hard to guess and full of little plot twists that made me really want to read on and find out what was going to happen between Eli and Jessie!

The characters...ah I found them so confusing at times - especially

“He stood frozen, staring at me as if he didn’t know how to do anything else. I couldn’t focus; it was like all the world’s blue had originated from his eyes. It was all there, the color of midnight, the sky, the ocean, and blue raspberry lollipops. Why had I spent so much time pretending they weren’t remarkable?” 1 likes
