In the Eyes of Madness by Michael Pang tells the story of Declan, and of Tristan and Zoe. These three young people, raised hundreds of miles away, share a very unusual connection. When Zoe and Tristan are called to Florida to identify their parents they stumble onto Declan and realise how alike they are.

Declan works at a behavioural facility, the same one his mother has been confined to since he was seven, after she accused him of being a demon

I work at a Christian kids camp, with kids grades K-5. When I read this one of the thing that I really enjoyed was that I feel like there are kids I work with that would love to read it. Some of the older kids would enjoy this, and then also most of all, I know there are a lot of former kids from my work that are now in middle school that would especially love the action and characters. The story line was compelling and flowed in such a way to keep the reader going and also make you really feel ...more

In The Eyes of Madness was a great start to the Declan Peters Chronicles. It left me super excited to read the next book in the series and find out what happened when Declan pressed the cross to his Mom's arm. This book was not at all what I had expected, it gave me goosebumps, and pulled me in to a darkly twisted plot that kept me flipping the pages till the end. I really enjoyed the religious undertones in this book, in my opinion, it was written really well and didn't overwhelm the book. The ...more

A wonderful book.... The final effect is that tingling in the neck hairs that tells us an artist is at work. It kept me engrossed and I read it in one sitting. The pace of the story was good and the switching between time periods was handled well.
Michael Pang has a way of sucking you in to the story, making it believable, great bed time reading if you have the ability to switch off and sleep afterwards.
This isn't just a book, it's a journey! It takes your mind places you didn't know you wanted

This is a book where you get to the end, and you're desperately wanting it to continue. I finished the entire story in one sitting, it was so good! I've always been really interested in the paranormal, so it was right up my alley. This book keep me turning the pages, wanting to know what was happening to Declan. I seriously can't wait for the sequel to come out, so I can know more! This a great read for lovers of mysteries, and all things supernatural!

I won a free copy of this book thanks to the First Reads giveaway program.

I'm actually pretty disappointed in the way this book turned out for a few reasons. I should start by saying that the actual story itself wasn't bad. In fact, I think that if the editor wouldn't have screwed over the author so badly, and with a few more drafts, this could've been a really good book.

Now it's time to rant.

There were so many dang typos and grammatical errors in this book! As I was reading it, it

I didn't think this book would grab me from the very beginning but it did. I am not a fan of the cover, and usually that is what brings me to a book in the first place. Sometimes I feel if the cover isn't amazing the book might not be either. I am glad I did not just this book by it's cover. It was a great book to read.

Declan is a young man, that was almost killed at the age of 7 by his psychotic mother. Can you even imagine that happening to you? I cannot. This poor kid had it rough. He lived

Right from the start, this book pulled me! I loved the pace and voice of the book, and it had me reading like mad every time I picked it up. It also was a book that stayed with me. While I was at work yesterday I was thinking about the book and what was going to happen next. So that, was amazing!

I think what really shone the most about this book is the way it is fantasy, but is also in a lot of ways relateable. Declan is a character that I felt like I could relate to a little bit, but I also

So, Declan works in the mental hospital where his mom has been since he was seven years old when she tried to kill him. He has superhuman strength and speed. A new guy comes to work and teaches him about demons and possession and the like.

Okay. This was a pretty interesting premise for the plot. I had a lot of trouble with this one though. This book is centered upon religion, mainly Christianity as being accepted as truth. While I'm okay with books dealing with religion, I felt like this was a

When I first got this offer to review the book, I only looked at the genres and I was hooked. Then I actually read the summary and I got intrigued, and lastly when I got the book all my expectations were heightened and truthfully this was a fantastic thrilling ride!

Declan aka the main character is a fantastic character. He has seen madness and he has experienced fear and pain while seeing the madness in his mothers eyes. But if any other person would have gone

Interesting read and it's only the beginning. Declan Peters has had a rough life. Starting with his mother trying to drown him. Now Declan works at the hospital where his mother was taken after her outrageous and horrifying attack on her son. Now, add in supernatural good vs evil and the adventure really begins. This is a well told story that I think readers will enjoy. The author has added in a few genres to make a book of good vs evil fought in an interesting way.

The title perfectly fits in with the story in ever way Declans mother is taken away to an institution leaving him longing for the mother that he once knew. Declan gets a job to work in the same psychotic institution where his mother is being held hoping to become closer to her and to find answers.

I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't get very far into this book. Normally, I push myself through a book even if I'm not enjoying it because not knowing how something ends (or even begins) really bothers me. I just didn't have the patience for this book. The writing style is... I'm trying to pick a word less harsh than horrible but I'm coming up blank.

There is no flow in this book. The sentences are choppy and not very well thought out. The grammar and spelling errors made it impossible for

Ohhhh I loved this book!!!
Read in one sitting, could not put it down!
Bring on book 2...
The pace is fast and the character building is really fluid. If you like the odd demon or 2, a couple of hunters, an exorcist and God, you will devour this book!

My only feedback to the author is to plase please get your future books beta read. I cannot stress the important of getting a book beta read. It ensures so many things are ironed out. This book is full of mistakes which would have been avoided if only the author would have got the book beta read.

Interesting bookk

The story was interesting and the characters developed throughout the book. I can't say it is perfect as there were quite a few grammatical errors, a few of which were distracting to the flow of the story.
With some editing this could be a great book!

It took me a little while to get into this story. The point of view jumps around a bit and normally that doesnt bother me. However, in this tale, I had trouble keeping the characters straight initially. It seems nearly everyone has some angst and that made every character feel similar. Declan is the main character and he was pretty straightforward. He worries that he may fall into a well of mental illness, just as his mother has. Yet he has compassion and works at the same mental health ...more

Where demons and teenage angst intersect, In the Eyes of Madness by Michael Pang shows what happens when teenagers discover the world of demons and those who fight them. This story centre's around Declan, a sweet natured and loving teen with a troubled past he is constantly trying to put behind him. With the help of his best friends he tries to keep it together, and help his aunt and uncle who raised him, but the memories of his mothers mental break keep coming back to haunt him. This book read like a Christian book to me, though it isnt classified on here as one. Im not sure, but perhaps the possession elements are why it was not classified as such. Still, It was pretty good. I havent come across any more of the series yet. It takes a while to get going but once it does, put on your seat belt.
I see elements of Catholicism in it, but its been a while since I read this one.
This one goes so much deeper than just what it may seem on the surface. I just dont want to ruin

Really enjoyable book but what the heck is up with the ending???

I really enjoyed this book, though it needed a second edit. Then, in the middle of a scene the book ends. I understand suspense and the idea of books in a series, but this was just ridiculous.
