I think my biggest disappointment with this read was how money was used to solve the couple's problems. Lucy is a doctor, and it's her life goal to save her cancer patients. This comes first in her life, even before her happiness. Josh hates Chicago, but he's promised to help his buddies with their problem, so he's back in town, leaving behind his beloved Iowa. The Newport's problem is Lucy's terminally ill patient, whose family waves around million dollar donations to convince Lucy to release him from the hospital so he can receive his treatments at home. Josh must have been paying attention, because his solution to his and Lucy's problem is to throw money at it. I guess this works when you're in love with a creamery tycoon, but it just didn't ring true for me.
