Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is UNFORGIVABLE.
She wanted to forget her past. He wanted to change the course of his future. She was everything he never knew he needed. He became her unexpected. Everything was perfect. Until ...
BL Berry grew up telling lies. Eventually, those lies turned into elaborate stories and when she grew older she started writing them down. When she’s not hiding behind her computer writing, you can find her spending time with her family or catching up on her favorite TV shows. Rumor has it she’ll sleep when she’s dead.
Residing outside of Kansas City, she lives with her husband, two children and black pug. Each day her family thanks the makers of e-Readers, because without which they would be living amongst stacks and stacks of romance novels. Conversely, each day B.L. Berry thanks the makers of e-Readers for hiding her book-hoarding tendencies.
"This man has changed you and not for the better. You feel everything so deeply it's practically a curse. You're blinded by his charm. You're ensnared in his lies...hell, you are the lie..."
Very entertaining story that does have cheating for those who cringe at the idea. I think what took away from me loving this one was that I was waiting for a big mind f*&k with the ending and story went sweet instead.
A beta reader suggested I give the world a warning to my book, and so my warning is simply this...
I wrote An Unforgivable Love Story fearlessly and unapologetically. I wrote a love tale from the heart that will no doubt affect people in completely different ways. I wrote to challenge the way you feel about love, relationships and everything in between. I wrote to make you uncomfortable and yet strangely at peace. I wrote to make you question your emotions, your reactions, and everything you think is sacred. I wrote a book that I love fiercely even though it terrifies the daylights out of me.
So, dear reader, please consider this your warning: While beautiful and heart wrenching, this book is absolutely unforgivable. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I imagine when you're done reading you'll feel the same way, too.
It really is true, the only people who actually understand what is going on in a relationship, are the two people involved. And they only know as much as the other person tells them.
This review is probably going to serve to frustrate those reading it more than it manages to help. I’m going to do my best not to spoil and that means the details I should hand out, like characters and basic plot premise, are getting skipped over. Just know, this isn't a dark romance and when folks get naked with each other, it's consensual.
Are you still reading? Here goes.
An Unforgiveable Love Story is not your typical romance. There is indeed some sexy stuff, but my usual expectations of a “romance” had to be chucked out the window. You know what? That didn’t bother me. The author gives us three distinct points of view and I have to say, that’s my favorite aspect of the book. Not a usual occurrence, but completely necessary to the story and I’m happy to report the author manages to bring everything full circle.
So what did I like? This story could’ve easily been a messy, convoluted wreck. Luckily the writing is excellent. I kept reading, despite the fact I was shaking my head and crying “WTF” through most of it. Going into it blind was a huge advantage and before I knew it, I was hooked on a book that could’ve easily been a DNF for me. It’s not every day I dislike the characters of a book as much as I did here and still continue to read it. The jackass force is strong with this one.
Correction. I wanted to throat punch two of the main characters and shake the other for being such an idiot. That sounds better, doesn’t it?
Technically, almost everything worked here but there were instances where the prose was a little flowery for me and it managed to yank me right out of the story.
I can tell he loves me in the same way the sun loves the horizon in the morning. Warmly and brightly, lighting up the darkest of moments with a fire so bright, over and over and over again.
Personal preference I know, but there it is.
At first not relating to any of the characters irked me, but by the end I realized that’s how it had to play out. Life’s messy and ugly and sometimes you’re just not going to like everyone.
Overall, my enjoyment level of An Unforgiveable Love Story hovers at the 3 star rating, but the book’s so well done that it’s a shame to give it anything less than 4 stars.
Elyse had found her true love. Simon was the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She had become Simon’s life and if he were to lose her, he’d lose himself. But all was not as it seemed.
What happens when you’re invested in a relationship with a partner who twists or withholds information that is vital to the relationship? When you love someone, the thought of disappointing them can make it very difficult to be totally honest. When the couple’s newfound happiness is threatened by lack of honesty, then passion, lust and romance are stolen away. And Elyse and Simon’s relationship is only as good as the lies holding it together.
The characters have doubts and fears, and communication breaks down. It gives the story a very genuine feel. It wasn't all steam and bedroom scenes and I was actually really glad about it. Also, I liked how the author didn’t immediately bring all the characters together. I'm not going to get into a lot about this story other than the fact that it was an interesting one, it held my attention, and it had my emotions rolling.
I liked the way the story started, and was intrigued by the plot. But, I didn’t enjoy the ending very much, I wasn’t feeling the vibes between them at all. It just wasn’t the happily ever after ending I’m used to. If you want a decent storyline, something with a bit of emotion or angst, and engaging characters, who have their moments, then this one is for you.

Wow! This story was truly an emotional roller coaster and I loved every second of it. I could not put this baby down until I had completely finished it.
I fell absolutely in love with Simon from Elyse's first encounter with him. Felt all the emotions she felt as she swiftly fell hard for him, then everything changed gears, and I think I was shocked how easily I felt that I could have been in her place in real life. I'd have fallen hard and fast for him too, if I had been in her shoes, judging by how much I loved him in this story.
I absolutely do not want to give the meat of this story away, but I completely enjoyed all the emotions this one flittered through me while reading it, and now after I've finished, I cannot quit thinking about these characters. I suspect this one won't be everybody's cuppa, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.
OMGGEEEEEE! I don't know what to say or where to even start. Days later and I am still processing what I read. LMAO! Let me say this... angst... angst.... angst. But more than the angst, I can't even tell you what YOU will feel because I felt a little of everything. And I think this is a book that people are either going to LOVE or HATE. I think this is a book that is going to draw thought or emotion that spans an array of things.
It's a book of FEELS.
This will take you from swoon, to confusion, to anger, to hatred, to shock. I was mentally drained in the best bookish way.
B.L. Berry is an amazing writer, brimming with pure talent and I can't wait to read more from her. She's certainly won me over with this!
PS: I should also say, An Unforgivable Love Story is a book you should go into blind. Knowing anything more than the blurb is a spoiler, IMO! So just read and draw your own conclusion at the end and then compare with reviews after!
It's well established that BL Berry is a kickass writer with a beautiful way with words.
This book...blew my fragile little mind. You think its going one way and then...BOOM...it's not. It's the most original story I've ever read, and I've finished quite awhile ago and am still thinking about it. Who is right or wrong? Who's side am I on? I jumped around the whole book. She created real flawed characters that pull you in different directions; not all good or bad, all with their own reasons.
This is going to be the book everyone is talking about - pick it up ASAP!
I fell deeply in love with all things BL Berry after reading her debut, Love Nouveau. After reading this beautiful tale of unforgivable love, it's plain to see this chick ain't no one trick pony!
I can give you a synopsis or a recap but that would just be silly. What you need to know is that this book is not like many others. Yes, there's love, yes there's lust, yes there's a hero and a heroine who seem to be living the picturesque fantasy of an undeniable love story.
This book has all that and...PLOT TWIST!!!
Go into this with eyes wide open, love and feel and swoon and drool the way I did when reading all that Simon was in a perfect man. Enjoy the journey, live and love it with them and then gasp and throw your kindle when you realize that our beloved author friend is a positively evil genius.
Love comes in so many different scenarios and when you're immersed in it, it's impossible to see anything but that love. Kudos to Mrs. Berry for knocking my socks off with An Unforgivable love Story!!
25% in - not in the mood for a scumbag hero. The guy just rubbed me the wrong way - checked out some reviews and this is one of those reads I need to bypass.
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review
“Like a voyeur, I’m entranced watching the way he savors my body. The way his tongue lights the fuse within me over and over and over again. The way he watches me watching him with those wolfish eyes, reading me like an erotic novel.”
Speechless. That is the first word that comes to mind after reading my first B.L. Berry book. I don’t even know where to begin my review as I try to process what I just read. B.L. Berry really took her readers on an emotional roller-coaster as she assaulted you with a magnitude of raw emotions in An Unforgivable Love Story.
“Life’s no fun if you’re able to predict what’s coming next. And you … I’ve never met a woman like you before. And there’s nothing that could have prepared me for your arrival.”
“Even though we only met yesterday, it feels like our souls met decades ago. He’s comfortable like your favorite sweatshirt on a snowy day. I want to wrap myself up in him like a blanket and feel his skilled touch all over my body.”
This book was broken up into three parts. And each part ended with a gut wrenching, shocking, and twisted ending. When you thought you had this big story figured out, B.L. Berry practically throws you under the bus as you are once again doused with new shocking information that will have you going crazy with all the emotions coursing through you. I know I am being vague in my review because to truly understand the depth of this book, you have to read it, experience it, and feel it. Be prepare to fall hard, have your heart ripped out, and also be prepared as B.L. Berry pieces it back together. The pieces may not be perfect but she puts it together some way with her gorgeous prose.
“And when your fingertips trace down my body, I know that you are writing our love story on my skin, branding me as yours. And that’s the thing about love stories … the best ones go on to live forever. And with the way you love me, it’s as if you are claiming me for all eternity.”
But what I can tell you is this book will make you really think about LOVE. That simple four letter word. It is simple to spell but so hard to define. LOVE. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is truth. Sometimes it prevails and sometimes it hurts. Love can be cruel. Love can be devastating. And love can also be unforgivable. And so if you are ready to get swept away with love and what it entails, then I urge you to read An Unforgivable Love Story as B.L. Berry showcases that there are two sides to every story and then some.
4.5 Unbelievable Stars!! Sometimes there are books that can't be reviewed without giving away major spoilers. This is one of those books. On the surface it sounds like a one night stand that turns into so much more than that. All I will say is that you think you get what is going on and then about 40% in, your jaw is going to drop. And it will keep dropping. And your blood pressure is going to shoot through the roof.
Stating that there are plot twists and turns is too much of an understatement. I haven't read anything by this author previously, but I was completely blown away by the caliber of her writing, and the intense feelings she wrung out of me. This is not a classic love story. This is not a book where you know where you stand with the characters. You will love them and hate them and feel equal parts of rage. I love when a book literally drives you nuts and your emotions are all over the place. When I read the ending- my jaw was still on the floor. The ending will screw with your mind as much as the rest of the story!
I realize that not many people will read my review, but if you are in this for the romance, read something else. This novel was billed and sold as romance because it has an HEA. But its a convoluted and twisted HEA. For all THREE main characters. You can say that they each got what they wanted. Sharla-money, Elyse-twoo luuuvv. Simon? A good blowjob. I really want honesty when I buy, is it too hard for Amazon to honestly list this as womens fiction (where expectations are VERY different) instead of romance. I'm not sure what control the author has over this, but if she has control and didn't list correctly, well that's greed. Because romance sells, much better than chick lit. All I can say is read spoilers if you are looking for a redemption romance, cause this ain't it. This one left a nasty taste.
Another reviewer wrote that it was insipid. I think that's inspired wordage😜
I told myself I was going to wait a few days to post my review. But I simply can't. I've been thinking about this story nonstop.
Ok, An Unforgivable Love Story it's gotta be a story that's gut wrenching I mean it's in the title right? WRONG! this book was completely mind boggling.
There are 3 parts to this story the beginning where you meet some characters, find a foundation to where you think the story is going &&& then you get to the part where your like WHAT like WHAT.
Elyse is the main character in part 1 of the story. I liked her approach to life and and her relationships, I understood where and why she was doing the things she did. She's a very relatable and like able character.
Part 2 you meet Sharna thats all I can say, and you find out so many things, things you thought you knew. I felt like everything I swooned over and butterflied over was gonna make me crazy nothing could compare to the events that followed.
Simon, I thought he was brilliant at what he was doing, and at what he did. You'll have to read this to understand what I mean. He was on another level.
This book took me by surprise, what I thought I was getting into couldn't prepare me. If your thinking your gonna read another sappy love story that rips you wide open, think again this book will legit make you CRAZY. Trust me on this. Read this.
Don't be fooled by my shelves on this one. They fit but don't. I thought I was prepared for what this one was. As it unfolds, it was totally WTF. But the true WTF is at the end when you totally see the sociopathy of the lead male character. I read the last scene twice to understand what happened in the 2 parts of the book: Part 1 - with the lead female character; Part 2 - with the wife; Part 3 (1 chapter) - Simon. Classic literature - no. Disturbing - somewhat. Entertaining - at least for me. Will I read again - probably not. 3 stars.

The first part is told through Elise's perspective as she has what she thinks is a one night stand with Simon. The one night stand turns into a full on romantic relationship.
Simon is the ever devoted lover. He would be perfect if not for the fact that he is a reporter for Conde Nast, which means that he travels a lot for work.
That's when things get fishy. Simon makes plans to meet Elise's friends and have Elise meet his people but he always cancels with an excuse. It's not hard to figure out why.
Part two is told through the eyes of Sharna, Simon's wife of 8 years who happens to be pregnant. It's clear that Simon has fallen out of love for Sharna, though he won't leave her. This part of the book was hard to listen to (audiobook) because Sharna was trying so hard to make it work with Simon but he was so over their marriage. Whenever he showed the smallest scrap of kindness or attention to Sharna, she'd get hopeful that their troubled marriage will heal.
This was also hard to listen to because I wanted to shake Sharna. Simon was a complete ass to her and she just stood there and took it, all the while going through turmoil. She suspected that he was having an affair but he kept denying it. I really wanted her to have a moment of self-love and leave his ass but that was not to be (at least not during her part).
Then Part 3 is back in Elise's POV. Sharna confronts her and Elise learns that her relationship with Simon was a lie (he wasn't even a journalist - he was a rich business tycoon type). She eventually confronts Simon and he tells her that he loves her and that he was planning on leaving Sharna before she turned up pregnant. Elise believes that he loves her but lost trust in him and won't pursue the relationship (thankfully!).
We learn from Elise that she was occasionally in touch with Simon until she changed her phone number. We learn that Sharna left him and received 75% of his money because of a cheating clause in their pre-nip.
Lastly, there's an epilogue from Simon's POV. He believes that he was truly in love with Elise and that Sharna was an evil witch who married him for money. He's lamenting about losing the love of his life, Elise, when he sees a hot redhead eyeing him at the bar and he zones in on her 100%. The end.
The book was entertaining to listen to (because of the angst), even though it was predictable at times.
I would have rated it higher had we had some real closure from Sharna's POV. Why even bother with giving her a POV if we don't know what is going on with her other than through Elise and Simon's perspectives, both of which cast her as a gold-digger. We didn't really have evidence of her caring about money during her POV except when she realizes that she'll need money to support herself and her child if she leaves Simon. Sharna was a stay at home wife, who effectively gave up her life when she married Simon and given what an a$$ Simon was about her pregnancy, I don't blame her for wanting financial security.
Anyways, it just felt like it cheapened the story so that we'd see Elise as the ultimate victim in the situation and that though Simon was a lying cheat, his love for her was real.

Firstly, I would like to thank Meghan Kelly for gifting me the audio version of this totally awesome book. I had never come across this author before and I would have missed out on a really great story. No 'proper' summary because the less you know when you start this the better. This one does exactly what it says on the tin: it is an unforgivable love story. It made me swoon to start with as girl meets boy, then there was an almighty WTF moment and I felt extremely angry, but things started to make a lot more sense and I thought why didn't I see that before, then I started to feel very conflicted about the characters, and when I got to the end, which wraps up the story well, I felt really unsure whether I liked it or not. The ending that is. The book, I loved. Clear as mud? Yup. Basically, if you like unconventional, angsty relationship dramas, you can't go wrong with this one unless . The author gives you three consecutive perspectives, each one ending with a mind-blowing moment. It is beautifully written, quite flowery in parts and made me wish I had an eBook copy to mark some quotes. I will definitely check out her other books. The narration was excellent. Great job by a female narrator to portray the male characters so convincingly. She also got the entire range of emotions across perfectly, and each character was portrayed with a distinct voice.
There’s nothing I love more than when an author rips the proverbial carpet right out from under me. I love the whiplash … I adore the crawling under my skin when I realize things aren’t at all what they seem. I applaud any book that can make me just a teensy bit homicidal. Not every book can be about unicorns. That’s all you need to know to read this book. So do it … now, please. :)
This review/ book has been more trouble then its worth to leave it on here, so I am taking it down from here and amazon a well its already off Audible.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
“Aren’t we all just one heartbreak away from complete and total destruction?”
This book is nothing like I expected. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything quite like this. It hooked me from the very first page. I became addicted, not stopping until I finished. And even then I was left in awe wondering what was that I just read. Definitely became a fan of this author and will be reading more of her work.
“…you have this indescribable radiance that illuminates my world and brought me out from the darkness.”
The blurb doesn’t tell you much about the characters or the story/plot as a whole. And neither will I. This is a book you live through. And I refuse to spoil it for anyone. What I will say is that you have never met characters like them. They are beautiful, but flawed. These genuine characters will find their way into your heart despite what reservations you may have about their actions. You will understand them. Love with them. Grieve with them. The story is written in three parts. And every time a part ends, I am looking at my ereader in shock. Why didn’t I see that coming? Did the author just do that? Yes, she did.
“His lips write poetry upon mine.”
This book? It IS poetry. The words flow effortlessly. The author is a master with her words as she brilliantly crafts a story about love in the most unconventional manner possible. The author is unapologetic in her writing. She holds nothing back. There are no rules. She goes all in. And you won’t be able to stop reading. You can’t. The author ultimately brings the reader into the hearts of her characters. There are twists and turns you never see coming. Secrets and lies. But there is one truth. And that is love.
“I would rather love your broken pieces than the whole pieces of anyone else.”
Despite being gut-wrenching this book. It is utterly romantic. I found myself highlighting everything. The author is fearless in her story telling as she makes you fall in love with the male character. His words of adoration will bring you to your knees. This man loves with conviction, with this heart and soul, with his entire being. You never question his love. Until…
“I want to be your one and only.” “You already are.”
An Unforgivable Love Story left me breathless. This book pushes you. Challenges you on your thoughts and love. You discover your own vulnerabilities as you watch people fall in love. But love hurts. Love is giving someone the power to devastate you and hoping that they don’t. To fall in love is to let your guards down. To throw away your inhibitions. Love is hard. Love is chaos. It’s unforgivable. But love is also powerful, profound. Love makes life worth living. This story reminds us to never be afraid to love. Even when life tells you that should.
Every now and then there are books where I wish the extent of the review could be “This book is awesome, you need to read it.” While that is true, An Unforgivable Love Story is truly fantastic, the one sentence doesn’t really tell you WHY you need to read it. I finished reading BL Berry’s latest effort earlier today and I am still trying to process everything. Early on, things seem to be a pretty normal romance novel of girl meets boy, boy buys girls drinks, girl takes boy home and a one night stand blossoms into a relationship. It doesn’t take long before things start to smell a little funny and then Ms. Berry throws everyone a huge curve ball. The curve ball in this book takes it from a better than average romance to a story that makes you think. Ms. Berry has created interesting characters that you can’t help but be pulled into watching to see what will happen next. We are also presented with a situation from two different points of view with the same character as the focal point. Getting to see things from both sides provides clarity to things that may not have made sense at first glance. One of the things that really hit home for me, is how much of what we think we know about someone is comprised of what we want to see and believe. There are three key players in An Unforgivable Love Story and all of them had me liking them and hating them to varying degrees at different times. If you need a happy ending with everything ties up in a big red bow, then this isn’t the book for you. If you are okay with the right ending for the players involved, then you’ll appreciate the world Ms. Berry has created. There are so many interesting pieces to this book, that it was hard to write the review without giving something away. I hope I’ve been able to do this great book justice.
EDIT: Ok, I am back now. And I have so many words, but they are basically a jumble of emotions and a straight up mess. BL Berry is magic and she is evil, but she is so damn good at what she does that you don't even feel the need to forgive her evil ways. You embrace them and then ask for more. I fell in love with her writing when I first read Love Nouveau. Her characters felt like they were little pieces of myself and her words were beautiful. But this book... this book is like nothing that I have ever read before. I went into it feeling like I should brace myself, but knowing nothing else about the story. And that is exactly what everyone should do. Let the story unfold. Be there with the characters. Feel what they are feeling. Fall in lust, fall in love, throw things, cry, swoon, and breathe. I can't really discuss the story too much because you just need to experience it for yourself. But it will leave you feeling every single emotion possible. I felt such highs and lows and everything in between. Sometimes I couldn't think and just stared at the wall trying to figure out life... lol. Go check out my status updates. They give an accurate description of my emotions throughout. My parting words are this. BL Berry speaks and writes the truth. She wrote an amazing, heart breaking, hopeful story that is filled with so much reality. The characters are all flawed and make mistakes... but don't we all?
"And aren't we all just one heartbreak away from complete and total destruction?"
I hope this review made sense. I was simply trying to purge my emotions in a way that could be understood, so I apologize if I rambled! P.S. The epilogue is perfection and is my favorite part of the book.
While I've never read a book by this author, I found myself intrigued by the reviews and brief blurb. I didn't think I would personally like this book but I enjoyed it. I loved the mysterious way the plot unfolded and how I just had this feeling that something wasn't right. There are 4 parts, told in 3 different POV's. The writing is phenomenal and very engaging. There really isn't much you can say without giving massive spoiler alerts. So I'll be brief.
Normally, I wouldn't want to read something with such a vague description because you never know what you'll end up with. I don't know about you but if I spend my money, I'd like a guarantee that I'm going to love the book. To my suprise, this completely paid off. It's such a page turner and I was so curious about what was going on, I had no idea I was reading it so rapidly. It's just what I needed to kick off 2018, since 2017 was such a disappointment (with the exception of a few).
If you are tired of the same old tired love story and are seriously looking for a plot with conflict, looking for something that more realistically imitates life, then this is one to read.
This story was GREAT! The writing itself was amazing, and the story line was totally unexpected! This story kept me on the edge of my seat, and was incredibly hard to put down once I started it! Each chapter just kept me wanting even more! Then once I got to the 40% mark my jaw honestly dropped! I knew SOMETHING was coming, but THAT is not what I saw coming ;)
The characters are super flawed, and also easily likable! I actually find it extremely refreshing that they are not perfect. I also find it amazing that this story was great and sexual without being intensely sexual. This story had great meat without overdoing it or being boring!
I loved matching up the timelines of the stories. It made things a little funny at that.
Simon - you giant lovable douche lord. Elyse - sigh, you're so amazing but so naive. Sharna - you smart but vengeful beeotch.
No one in this story is truly innocent. Which is why I love it so much. Also the ending is ANYTHING but corny, which I appreciate. Very real! Great writing! Can't wait to read more!
I'm going to be vague. This book is absolutely not what I was expecting. Readers be warned.. This is not your traditional love story. At all. It is totally unconventional. Lies, love, half truths, questions, hope, heartbreak, loss, betrayal. An Unforgivable Love Story is a book that very much matches it's name, just in ways you'll struggle to see coming. The author gives us four parts to this story, from a few different points of view. When I reached a certain part I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed and was unsure if the book would continue to hold my interest. It did though, in a big way. I kinda loved how unique this book was.
This is a new author for me and I must say this is a book unlike any other I've read. This book contains a love triangle and there is cheating so if that's not your jam, don't read it please. With that out of the way, I'll say that I found SOMETHING to like about all three characters, even Simon the f**ktard. The heroines, yes there are two, although one might think Sharna is a little bit villain. The story is told in three parts, part one is the beautiful and naive Elyse and Simon St.John. Simon was supposed to be a one night stand, but he stuck around and wormed his way into Elyse's heart. Part two is Sharna. I really felt sorry for her, in the beginning. She was pregnant and struggling to hold onto her marriage and clearly her partner had checked the hell out, especially after getting pregnant. Then some truths are revealed and I wondered about Sharna's motives, was she interested in her marriage or just money. There is a happy ending, a bit twisted, but happy. Elyse's ending felt rushed and forced, but necessary, I think. She was incredibly naive, but never deserved to have that bomb explode in her life.
This book! For starters, The title of the book is so damn accurate! Mainly, the word, "Unforgivable." This is story about love, lust, heartbreak and lies . Im not going to go into details about the characters , will reframe from saying too much about the story in my review. Because I think this is one of those books where going in blind makes it that much more interesting and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. Just know, I couldn't put it down! I finished it last night and woke up still thinking about it. It's definitely a Real story.
Well it is if you've ever been in love or lust. The kinda that gives you butterflies. That has you smiling for no reason. Excited and anticipating spending all your time with that someone. Sighs..and when you do your panties are wet after just one kiss. Then there are the deceitful lies. The kind that breaks your heart in a million pieces And when you are in that moment, you bible swear it's the real thing, you'll never get through it. Oh my god, so many feelings with this book. There were parts where I was smiling at my kindle all stupid, giddy and at about 80% I wanted to throw the damn thing and bitch slap someone. @blberrywrites Thank you so much for sending me an ARC. The book is beautifully written. I think you did an amazing job conveying so many emotions through your writing. I didn't know who to love, hate or down right pity. 4.5 Unforgivable stars
This is my first read by BL Berry and the fact that she picked such a taboo subject that many authors shy away from for fear of scaring away readers- leaves me with much respect.
Lately everything I read seems to have these huge plot twists (which I LOVE) but it makes writing reviews completely daunting because I do not want to give anything away.
"The one thing I’ve learned from that whole mess is that love is unforgivable. You unapologetically fall for someone. When done right, you lose control and lose yourself in them and in return they fall right alongside you"
Well isn’t that the damn truth……. I believe as women, many of us have been scorned- and the majority of us go on to find our happily ever after. This book takes you through the emotions of losing yourself to love and all the feels that go along with it, even when it doesn’t always turn out like you hoped. An Unforgivable Love Story gives you a huge dose of pain but at the same time leaves you thinking about how real the actions are written. I craved Karma while reading- I wanted it like I wanted my next breath of air…… I am VENGEFUL and give zero fucks; however at the end I respected the beauty of the reality of this story.
I loved each of these characters in their own certain way and BL left me with not only an Unforgivable Love Story but an Unforgettable one…………………
I'm not often blown away by a book. I rarely message everyone I know and tell them that they must read that book.
This book? I did both of those things.
This book. I finished it two days ago and I'm still thinking about the story, the characters, the unforgivableness of it all. I don't usually highlight passages. The words are fleeting and fail to take my breath away. Again, this book had me highlighting, reading words twice so I could relive their beauty.
"Elyse... you absolutely take my breath away." My insides soar at this man, his touch, his words. "Then I will just have to breathe for the both of us."
"Don't you know that the only way sunshine and happiness can get in is if you have enough cracks to let the light shine through?"
"I would rather love your broken pieces than the whole pieces of anyone else."
BL Berry was able to craft a story that took me by surprise. I loved the way it twisted me up and spit me out. This book was nothing like what I expected. It was better than I could hope. I'm excited for release day so everyone can have a chance to read and love it just as much as I do.
An Unforgivable Love Story is Brilliant. How can I put into words what exactly this story made me feel? I probably should have taken some time to process all I have just read before writing my review. So many ups and downs, twist and turns, surprise after surprise. I am an emotional wreck right now. I can't even began to tell you how many times I said WTF or Oh Hell No. It will definitely mess with your mind, your heart, and it takes a little piece of your soul. Leaving you with the need for a stiff drink.
BL Berry's writing style in impeccable. The story line is amazing. I can not stress to you what a fabulous book An Unforgivable Love Story is..
I highly recommend reading.
