I liked the section on baptisms of each of the modern prophets, and I liked how it starts with President McKay's dream of heaven, but overall I don't think this would hold the attention of many 7-year-olds preparing for baptism. It's a grown-up trying to talk to a youngster, but it isn't really written on a child's level despite the short chapters and large print. There are also some details that are not universal for all LDS baptisms and may not actually be helpful in preparing a child for his/her own baptism. I'd suggest an adult read through this for ideas on what to discuss with their child before baptism, but I wouldn't hand it over to him or probably even read it to/with him.

This is a good one to read to/with your kids before their baptism. The best part is the chapter on baptisms of modern prophets. Favorite lines:
1. "The only true test of greatness is how close we can come to being like Jesus Christ" (15).
2. "Becoming true friends with the Savior is the key to success in life" (54).

I gave this nice book to my great-granddaughter Haylee on her eighth birthday. I especially liked the information about the baptisms of each of the latter-day prophets. This should be helpful to Haylee's understanding of her own baptism as her parents share it with her.
