You know, I get that family is family and there are a lot of things you'd put up with from a blood relation that you wouldn't put up with from someone else. Buuuut...Mia's sister's demands drove me batty. BATTY. She mellowed out--EVENTUALLY--but it took me a long time to tone down my death-glare.

Now that I have that off my chest, let's focus on Mia and her penchant for finding dead bodies in the most unlikely of places.

Thing #1: Mia found a dead body. Again. She's super good at that. She's also

Mia Connors can’t seem to catch a break, just when she thought her life was back under her control…she discovers another body. This time it is an old friend of her Grandma’s, who she finds stabbed and drowned in the lake. Luckily she has connections in law enforcement, Deputy US Marshall Jake Archer, who may or may not be her boyfriend. Once again Mia gets thrown into the middle of a case, what could possibly go wrong?

Another day, another murder, poor Mia has the worse possible luck; however

Mia's life is one thing after another: US Marshal Jake is back in town after several months away, her sister has decided at the last minute that she wants a baby shower after all, her mother drops a bombshell on the family that leaves everyone speechless, she and Nate are trying to hire a project manager for their online RPG, and one of her grandmother's friends is found floating in the lake within the confines of their exclusive gated community. Grandma is understandably upset, and Mia promises ...more

I was a bit apprehensive when I started this book. I haven't read the first two in the series so I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow along. Once I met Mia, the main character, I couldn't put the book down.
Mia is a twin, and her sister Bree is expecting her second child. Mia is busy launching her RPG game, playing her part as Lady Guinevere at the family's Renaissance Fair and of course, planning her sister's second baby shower. The last thing Mia needs is another murder investigation, her

LOVED this book!!!! Funny and smart, it follows Mia, a wealthy woman who still works three jobs and has difficulty saying no to any request for help. Her identical twin, Bree, has coerced Mia into throwing a baby shower for her, even though it is her second child. Bree is demanding and insists on ridiculous things that drive Mia crazy

In the midst of this, Mia finds a body in the lake in the community where she lives. Despite being told to keep her nose out of the investigation by both her boyfr

Julie Anne Lindsay rights a solid mystery with lost of humor to off set the darker side of the story. Murder.
Each character has a purpose and a reason to be in the story. The story takes time to build and nothing is solved over night. Julie brings in characters from the other two books.
My one compliant would be the book ended with a nice little bow as if the author isn't going to be writing any more. The romance is short simple and sweet but the build I think it needed was lacking.

After the tension in the first two The Geek Girl's Mysteries series, I desperately wanted some sort of deeper connection between Mia and Jake, but not at the expense of a tight and well developed storyline!

Another murder on Mia Connors' watch has her Horseshoe Falls gated community up in arms. Deputy U.S. Marshal Jake Archer too, especially since Mia can't seem to leave the investigation up to the pros. With someone leaving her dead mice and ideas about the possible murderer(s) coming at her le

This is the third book in the Geek Girl Mysteries series.

Mia has a big project at work concerning giving all the residents of the Horseshoe Falls community wifi. The only problem is … squirrels! Apparently these are special squirrels because a man is studying their behavior. The squirrels keep messing up the wifi AND to top it off, Mia finds yet another dead body in the pond this time.

Mia does a lot of juggling. Being the head of her grandmother’s company gives her a lot of responsibility

Mia must have more than 24 hours in her days as she juggles 3 jobs along. However, this issue of time comes to a breaking point when she can't seem to find time to plan her sister's baby shower, have a date with Jake, and solve the murder of her grandmother's friend. Oh! And deal with squirrels chewing through her new wireless net at Horseshoe Falls. No wonder it takes several missteps before our favorite girl geek figures out who did it! The story line is fun but I started getting sidetracked b ...more

A Geek Girl's Guide to Justice by Julie Anne Lindsey was a captivating read from page one until I closed the book.

Mia and her crazy family are back with outrageous demands from her sister, Bree, her mother's writing a book, and the murder of one of her grandmother's friends. Mia is supposed to stay out of the murder but she feels compelled to snoop since she's the one who finds the body. I get exhausted just reading about Mia's three jobs plus her family's demands. Plus Jake is finally back aft

Third in this series and I was happy to get a chance to read an ARC from Netgalley.

Mia once again stumbles across a body, this time it is a friend of her grandmother's. She rescues him from the lake at night, but he is already dead and her grandmother wants to know who killed Dante and bring him/her to justice.
And although Mia is super busy she takes this task on as well. She already jumbles several jobs (her job as IT girl, playing Guinevere, building a solid business for the game REIGN and or

The Geek Girls Mysteries comes to a close with A Geek Girl's Guide to Justice. Julie Anne Lindsey delivers a mystery with closure written on every page.

Mia's twin sister is expecting, her mom is writing a book about their quirky family, and Mia rescued a dead man from a lake in Horseshoe Falls. This story is packed full of drama and another investigation for Mia to meddle in. I would have loved for their romance to be more intense. I couldn't believe they were both

Another quirky read in the Geek Girl Mystery series, knowing Mia could be very bad for one's life expectancy...seriously a lot of people seem to drop dead around her. The story is right up there with the previous books, geeky Mia is dressed to kill, hunky Jake is there to pick up the pieces. This can be read as a stand alone, but reading the entire series is just plain fun.

This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Because I adore the characters that anchor this series, I enjoyed this book. But the mystery was disappointing for me - none of the suspects seemed strong possibilities. I didn’t think they were as well constructed as they might have been, or as the ones in the previous books were. That being said, if the author ever published another book in this series I would snap it up. The characters are completely worth it and I’d give the mystery another try because I enjoyed the first two so much.

Cozy Mystery with Humor and Heart

This is the third installation in the Geek Girl Mysteries and I loved it. My favorite part is how all the characters are fully realized. The relationships are strong and full of humor and heart. The mystery flows as Mia once again finds herself investigating a murder while juggling her increasingly busy professional and personal life. If you love cozy mysteries with romance and friendship, give all three books a try.

At last some lovely romantic moments in this engaging cozy mystery series. While I realize it is a common plot thread in the genre for amateur detectives, there are getting to be too many TSTL decisions in this series by Heroine Mia that kept this from being a 5 star rating for me...

Do you like mystery? A little romance, perhaps? Then I have the book for you!

I am a book series girl. There's something to be said about investing your time and energy into a well-written character. One of my favorite characters over the past year has been Mia Connors from Julie Anne Lindsey's Geek Girl Mysteries. Additionally, Julie Anne Lindsey wrote the Patience Price series, which I also read and enjoyed--yes, that's a grand total of six Julie Anne Lindsey books in 2016.

This book was cute and fun, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the last two. My biggest issue is that while the mystery was fun, I spent most of the book wanting to smack Mia and tell her to grow a pair. Her sister is being a mom-zilla about her baby shower and Mia just rolls over and lets her do it! What happened to our smart, strong heroine?! I get it that you'll put up with a lot of drama from family, but at some point it's gone too far. Plus, there wasn't as much of the fun banter and ch ...more

Not quite there

May contain spoilers!

I skimmed most of this book. I just wanted to know how it ended. I wish in each book they would or done more with Jake and Mia. I might of liked her more. She often bugged me! Some of the details and whole chapters at time seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with the plot. The first few had promise, but still fell short. Finished this one disappointed.
