You know, I get that family is family and there are a lot of things you'd put up with from a blood relation that you wouldn't put up with from someone else. Buuuut...Mia's sister's demands drove me batty. BATTY. She mellowed out--EVENTUALLY--but it took me a long time to tone down my death-glare.

Now that I have that off my chest, let's focus on Mia and her penchant for finding dead bodies in the most unlikely of places.

Mia Connors can’t seem to catch a break, just when she thought her life was back under her control…she discovers another body. This time it is an old friend of her Grandma’s, who she finds stabbed and drowned in the lake. Luckily she has connections in law enforcement, Deputy US Marshall Jake Archer, who may or may not be her boyfriend. Once again Mia gets thrown into the middle of a case, what could possibly go wrong?

Another day, another murder, poor Mia has the worse possible luck; however, her bad luck has gifted us with another charming book in the Geek Girl Mystery series. Although, I am not sure I would want to be an acquaintance of Mia’s, the chances are you’ll get murdered, I have really enjoyed reading about her diving head first in to all the cases. Lindsey offers us a series that’s both funny, heart warming with just a tiny pinch of danger and intrigue. Perfect ingredients for kicking back and having some fun.

The quirky band of characters in this book, from Mia’s eccentric twin sister to some of the residents in the gated community where Mia works and lives, make these books warm and inviting. Whenever I open one up, I know I will be thrown into the familiar oddball chaos of Mia’s life and I look forward to it. Trundling along with Mia is half the reason I read the book, it always makes me smile, the other half is to see whodunit.

The mystery element of this book wasn’t that strong, I half guessed who the culprit was from the start, even if the reasons weren’t clarified right till the end. But, the more I read these books, the more the mystery becomes just another thread in Mia’s life. I’m reading not to just to find out who the murderer is but to discover, when Jake and Mia will finally have some time together, how Mia’s twin sister’s baby shower is going to go and what will happen in the romance between Mia’s two best friends. So, if you are after a serious thriller, you would need to look elsewhere.

I had great fun reading this, I highly recommend you give this series a go, it’s a quirky read that will leave you with a smile on your face.

I was a bit apprehensive when I started this book. I haven't read the first two in the series so I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow along. Once I met Mia, the main character, I couldn't put the book down.

Julie Anne Lindsay rights a solid mystery with lost of humor to off set the darker side of the story. Murder.
Each character has a purpose and a reason to be in the story. The story takes time to build and nothing is solved over night. Julie brings in characters from the other two books.
My one compliant would be the book ended with a nice little bow as if the author isn't going to be writing any more. The romance is short simple and sweet but the build I think it needed was lacking.

Another murder on Mia Connors' watch has her Horseshoe Falls gated community up in arms. Deputy U.S. Marshal Jake Archer too, especially since Mia can't seem to leave the investigation up to the pros. All the woman wants is a little time to get to know Jake, but the two will have to spend their time working out the aspects of the case instead of working out their relationship.

A GEEK GIRL'S GUIDE TO JUSTICE is the third in The Geek Girl's Mysteries featuring Mia, her wacky family, her maybe kinda sorta boyfriend Jake, her BFF Nate and his girlfriend Fifi and Jake's detective brother Dan. The setting of rural Ohio is one I'm intimately and geographically familiar with (the baby Swiss in Sugarcreek really does melt on the tongue)! The red herrings kept Mia busy, between creepy pet store owners, peeping tom squirrel sex watchers and dirty politicians, Mia is spinning her wheels trying to get something to stick and point her in the right direction.

If I wanted to smack Jake for his stupidity in the last 2 books, I kinda felt like throat punching Mia's clueless family, especially twin sister Bree! She should back the hell off and let Mia plan a baby shower how she sees fit! Girlfriend is in charge of the IT for Horseshoe Falls, owns and programs an online RPG game, is the Guinevere in the family business Guinevere's Golden Beauty and attends renaissance fairies every weekend in costume. Plus solving crimes and being the good sister/daughter/granddaughter….girl needs a backbone! Just say NO!!!! And this insane chemistry with Jake without giving us any of the goods? Diabolical decision, Ms. Lindsay!

The ending was frustrating for so many reasons, not the least the aforementioned detached relationship between Mia and Jake. I felt like I was missing a year of their relationship blooming and developing, leaving me confused and feeling a little awkward at the end. I'm not sure I hope for another book in this series after this disappointing ending.

Bottom Line: This book took us from one extreme to another in Mia's relationships with everyone in her circle. It might feel like closure to some readers, but for me it felt forced and awkward.

This is the third book in the Geek Girl Mysteries series.

Mia has a big project at work concerning giving all the residents of the Horseshoe Falls community wifi. The only problem is … squirrels! Apparently these are special squirrels because a man is studying their behavior. The squirrels keep messing up the wifi AND to top it off, Mia finds yet another dead body in the pond this time.

However, this issue of time comes to a breaking point when she can't seem to find time to plan her sister's baby shower, have a date with Jake, and solve the murder of her grandmother's friend. Oh! Another quirky read in the Geek Girl Mystery series, knowing Mia could be very bad for one's life expectancy...seriously a lot of people seem to drop dead around her. The story is right up there with the previous books, geeky Mia is dressed to kill, hunky Jake is there to pick up the pieces. Because I adore the characters that anchor this series, I enjoyed this book. But the mystery was disappointing for me - none of the suspects seemed strong possibilities. I didn’t think they were as well constructed as they might have been, or as the ones in the previous books were. That being said, if the author ever published another book in this series I would snap it up. The characters are completely worth it and I’d give the mystery another try because I enjoyed the first two so much.

This is the third installation in the Geek Girl Mysteries and I loved it. My favorite part is how all the characters are fully realized. The relationships are strong and full of humor and heart. The mystery flows as Mia once again finds herself investigating a murder while juggling her increasingly busy professional and personal life. If you love cozy mysteries with romance and friendship, give all three books a try.

I am a book series girl. There's something to be said about investing your time and energy into a well-written character. One of my favorite characters over the past year has been Mia Connors from Julie Anne Lindsey's Geek Girl Mysteries. Additionally, Julie Anne Lindsey wrote the Patience Price series, which I also read and enjoyed--yes, that's a grand total of six Julie Anne Lindsey books in 2016.

I am a book series girl. There's something to be said about investing your time and energy into a well-written character. One of my favorite characters over the past year has been Mia Connors from Julie Anne Lindsey's Geek Girl Mysteries. Additionally, Julie Anne Lindsey wrote the Patience Price series, which I also read and enjoyed--yes, that's a grand total of six Julie Anne Lindsey books in 2016.

I flew through the first book, *A Geek Girl's Guide to Murder*, and then immediately bought the second book, *A Geek Girl's Guide to Arsenic*. The main reason for my obsession with these books? The relatable every-geeky-girl characters.

Mia Connors is a geek girl to the extreme, and her reluctance to be around other people intrigued me, since I am much the same. Admittedly, her male romantic partner, Jake, was a hunk-a-hunk of burnin' love, too.

I don't want to give too much away, in case you haven't read the first two books, but I will try to convey the story line as best as possible. NO SPOILERS! I promise!

**WHAT I LIKED:** Mia and Jake, duh! No, I liked the plot as well. Each of these stories has a murder intrigue to it in order for Jake (a Deputy Marshal) and Jake's brother Dan (a homicide detective) to keep showing up in Mia's life. But the best part is that Mia likes to stir up trouble with her insatiable curiosity. She's everything that I wish I could be, but real life gets in the way.

**What I DISLIKED:** Mia's twin sister, Bree, annoyed the crap out of me. I suppose she was supposed to, as she is a definite foil for Mia, but as a girl who has never had a sister, I couldn't understand Bree's desire to have Mia do everything with her.

**RATED:** 5 Stars

If the author were to continue the series, even with minor characters taking over the helm as narrator, I would be first in line to read the book. In fact, I intend to go back and read some of Julie Anne Lindsey's other work as well.

This book was cute and fun, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the last two. My biggest issue is that while the mystery was fun, I spent most of the book wanting to smack Mia and tell her to grow a pair. Her sister is being a mom-zilla about her baby shower and Mia just rolls over and lets her do it! What happened to our smart, strong heroine?! I skimmed most of this book. I just wanted to know how it ended. I wish in each book they would or done more with Jake and Mia. I might of liked her more. She often bugged me! Some of the details and whole chapters at time seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with the plot. The first few had promise, but still fell short. Finished this one disappointed.
