You know, I get that family is family and there are a lot of things you'd put up with from a blood relation that you wouldn't put up with from someone else. Buuuut...Mia's sister's demands drove me batty. BATTY. She mellowed out--EVENTUALLY--but it took me a long time to tone down my death-glare.

Now that I have that off my chest, let's focus on Mia and her penchant for finding dead bodies in the most unlikely of places.

Thing #1: Mia found a dead body. Again. She's super good at that. She's also pretty darn good at ferreting out who did it. I guess if you're going to have a set of skills, those are ones that go together well. As good as she is at finding the bodies, she's not so great at interpersonal relationships. The lady takes awkward to a new level.

Thing #2: Jake and Mia are definitely a thing. Kind of. I mean, they'd be even more of a thing if their timing ever lined up. Carving out an hour or two to grab something to eat takes effort with these two. Serious effort.

Thing #3: Mia thinks she's a superwoman. In a lot of ways, she is. But she's juggling a lot of balls and it's starting to wear on her. Her family isn't helping in that regard, either. Did you see that part about her sister's demands? Yeah. Her family is kinda pushy. Again, I get why Mia helps out when called, but sometimes you have to put your foot down. Hard.

I like Mia's crazy, high-energy life. She gets more done in a day than most people get done all week. She is a glorious case of chaos who manages to see things from a slightly different angle. I cna appreciate that.

Mia Connors can’t seem to catch a break, just when she thought her life was back under her control…she discovers another body. This time it is an old friend of her Grandma’s, who she finds stabbed and drowned in the lake. Luckily she has connections in law enforcement, Deputy US Marshall Jake Archer, who may or may not be her boyfriend. Once again Mia gets thrown into the middle of a case, what could possibly go wrong?

Another day, another murder, poor Mia has the worse possible luck; however, her bad luck has gifted us with another charming book in the Geek Girl Mystery series. Although, I am not sure I would want to be an acquaintance of Mia’s, the chances are you’ll get murdered, I have really enjoyed reading about her diving head first in to all the cases. Lindsey offers us a series that’s both funny, heart warming with just a tiny pinch of danger and intrigue. Perfect ingredients for kicking back and having some fun.

The quirky band of characters in this book, from Mia’s eccentric twin sister to some of the residents in the gated community where Mia works and lives, make these books warm and inviting. Whenever I open one up, I know I will be thrown into the familiar oddball chaos of Mia’s life and I look forward to it. Trundling along with Mia is half the reason I read the book, it always makes me smile, the other half is to see whodunit.

The mystery element of this book wasn’t that strong, I half guessed who the culprit was from the start, even if the reasons weren’t clarified right till the end. But, the more I read these books, the more the mystery becomes just another thread in Mia’s life. I’m reading not to just to find out who the murderer is but to discover, when Jake and Mia will finally have some time together, how Mia’s twin sister’s baby shower is going to go and what will happen in the romance between Mia’s two best friends. So, if you are after a serious thriller, you would need to look elsewhere.

I had great fun reading this, I highly recommend you give this series a go, it’s a quirky read that will leave you with a smile on your face.

Mia's life is one thing after another: US Marshal Jake is back in town after several months away, her sister has decided at the last minute that she wants a baby shower after all, her mother drops a bombshell on the family that leaves everyone speechless, she and Nate are trying to hire a project manager for their online RPG, and one of her grandmother's friends is found floating in the lake within the confines of their exclusive gated community. Grandma is understandably upset, and Mia promises to help find justice, despite multiple warnings from Jake and his brother, Dan, to stay out of the investigation.

Maybe it's the Ren Faire connection, maybe it's the IT career, or maybe it's that Mia is a strong, independent woman who thinks before she acts, but I have really enjoyed this series, and this book is no exception. Due to real-life family events, it took me longer to read the book than it should have, but I couldn't wait until I had a few minutes to pick it up and start reading again. Most of the characters are people I'd like to have around my family dinner table at least once, and Horseshoe Falls sounds like a place I'd like to visit. The mystery kept me guessing, with the obligatory red herrings, but not so many as to discourage the reader from trying to solve the puzzle. I will most definitely keep an eye out for the next installment of this series!

I was a bit apprehensive when I started this book. I haven't read the first two in the series so I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow along. Once I met Mia, the main character, I couldn't put the book down.
Mia is a twin, and her sister Bree is expecting her second child. Mia is busy launching her RPG game, playing her part as Lady Guinevere at the family's Renaissance Fair and of course, planning her sister's second baby shower. The last thing Mia needs is another murder investigation, her life is busy enough. When she unknowingly finds the body of her grandmother's friend, she tries her best to stay out of it. Unfortunately, she can't stay away, after all it is her grandmother's friend and she has to help. Someone doesn't appreciate her asking questions so when dead mice begin to follow her around, she has no choice but to involve her current boyfriend, Jake.
It doesn't stop at dead mice though, Mia is struggling with rainbow fruit kabobs, and locating 200 butterflies.

Tune in October 3rd to join Mia on her wild adventures in A Geek Girl's Guide to Justice.

LOVED this book!!!! Funny and smart, it follows Mia, a wealthy woman who still works three jobs and has difficulty saying no to any request for help. Her identical twin, Bree, has coerced Mia into throwing a baby shower for her, even though it is her second child. Bree is demanding and insists on ridiculous things that drive Mia crazy

In the midst of this, Mia finds a body in the lake in the community where she lives. Despite being told to keep her nose out of the investigation by both her boyfriend, Jake (a US Marshall), and the homicide detective (her boyfriend's brother), Mia pokes around just enough to get in trouble and starts receiving "gifts" from the killer.

As Mia juggles her responsibilities and searches for a killer, she struggles to make sense of her relationship with Jake.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While it is part of a series, it is a stand alone novel. However, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Julie Anne Lindsay rights a solid mystery with lost of humor to off set the darker side of the story. Murder.
Each character has a purpose and a reason to be in the story. The story takes time to build and nothing is solved over night. Julie brings in characters from the other two books.
My one compliant would be the book ended with a nice little bow as if the author isn't going to be writing any more. The romance is short simple and sweet but the build I think it needed was lacking.

The author keeps Mia in her head a little too much for me and I wish it could have been used more to build the relationships with different characters so they didn't feel rushed.
Sweet, fun cozy mystery that will not leave readers lost or wondering what will happen next. Everything is handed to you with a pretty bow.

After the tension in the first two The Geek Girl's Mysteries series, I desperately wanted some sort of deeper connection between Mia and Jake, but not at the expense of a tight and well developed storyline!

Another murder on Mia Connors' watch has her Horseshoe Falls gated community up in arms. Deputy U.S. Marshal Jake Archer too, especially since Mia can't seem to leave the investigation up to the pros. With someone leaving her dead mice and ideas about the possible murderer(s) coming at her left and right, Mia is up to her ears in insanity.

All the woman wants is a little time to get to know Jake, but the two will have to spend their time working out the aspects of the case instead of working out their relationship.

A GEEK GIRL'S GUIDE TO JUSTICE is the third in The Geek Girl's Mysteries featuring Mia, her wacky family, her maybe kinda sorta boyfriend Jake, her BFF Nate and his girlfriend Fifi and Jake's detective brother Dan. The setting of rural Ohio is one I'm intimately and geographically familiar with (the baby Swiss in Sugarcreek really does melt on the tongue)! The red herrings kept Mia busy, between creepy pet store owners, peeping tom squirrel sex watchers and dirty politicians, Mia is spinning her wheels trying to get something to stick and point her in the right direction.

If I wanted to smack Jake for his stupidity in the last 2 books, I kinda felt like throat punching Mia's clueless family, especially twin sister Bree! She should back the hell off and let Mia plan a baby shower how she sees fit! Girlfriend is in charge of the IT for Horseshoe Falls, owns and programs an online RPG game, is the Guinevere in the family business Guinevere's Golden Beauty and attends renaissance fairies every weekend in costume. Plus solving crimes and being the good sister/daughter/granddaughter….girl needs a backbone! Just say NO!!!! And this insane chemistry with Jake without giving us any of the goods? Diabolical decision, Ms. Lindsay!

The ending was frustrating for so many reasons, not the least the aforementioned detached relationship between Mia and Jake. I felt like I was missing a year of their relationship blooming and developing, leaving me confused and feeling a little awkward at the end. I'm not sure I hope for another book in this series after this disappointing ending.

Bottom Line: This book took us from one extreme to another in Mia's relationships with everyone in her circle. It might feel like closure to some readers, but for me it felt forced and awkward.

This is the third book in the Geek Girl Mysteries series.

Mia has a big project at work concerning giving all the residents of the Horseshoe Falls community wifi. The only problem is … squirrels! Apparently these are special squirrels because a man is studying their behavior. The squirrels keep messing up the wifi AND to top it off, Mia finds yet another dead body in the pond this time.

Mia does a lot of juggling. Being the head of her grandmother’s company gives her a lot of responsibility, not to mention her much love IT job and yet another project she wants to undertake that has to do with the virtual world she and her friend created demanding more of her time than ever. The girl is just worn out. I am not sure why someone with so many demands on their time keeps poking around in a murder investigation but this geek girl just cant help herself.

Another winner from Julie Anne Lindsey! You just have to try this series out. I am sure you will love it.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Mia must have more than 24 hours in her days as she juggles 3 jobs along. However, this issue of time comes to a breaking point when she can't seem to find time to plan her sister's baby shower, have a date with Jake, and solve the murder of her grandmother's friend. Oh! And deal with squirrels chewing through her new wireless net at Horseshoe Falls. No wonder it takes several missteps before our favorite girl geek figures out who did it! The story line is fun but I started getting sidetracked by how Mia could possibly fit it all in. (Thankfully, this issue is somewhat resolved by the end of the book in the most Mia way possible.) This is the third book in a series. Do yourself a favor: read them all and read them in order. Between Mia's many activities and her crazy family, the series is a great little escape.

A Geek Girl's Guide to Justice by Julie Anne Lindsey was a captivating read from page one until I closed the book.

Mia and her crazy family are back with outrageous demands from her sister, Bree, her mother's writing a book, and the murder of one of her grandmother's friends. Mia is supposed to stay out of the murder but she feels compelled to snoop since she's the one who finds the body. I get exhausted just reading about Mia's three jobs plus her family's demands. Plus Jake is finally back after being gone for two months and they are trying to actually have a normal dating relationship. Hah! A fast paced story filled with some laughter, twists as the victim's background unfolds, turns as the clues appear and even a little romance.

Third in this series and I was happy to get a chance to read an ARC from Netgalley.

Mia once again stumbles across a body, this time it is a friend of her grandmother's. She rescues him from the lake at night, but he is already dead and her grandmother wants to know who killed Dante and bring him/her to justice.
And although Mia is super busy she takes this task on as well. She already jumbles several jobs (her job as IT girl, playing Guinevere, building a solid business for the game REIGN and organizing her sister's baby shower) and she has hardly any time to go on dates with Jake Archer
.
Another solid mystery, but I wished there was a little more romance. It looks like this is the third and last book about Mia and the ending was great, although a bit out of the blue.

My Review:

I am biased on this series since I fell in love with it when the first book was released and my love affair has yet to end. A Geek Girls Guide To Justice" continues to take place in the same small enclosed community filled with unique characters that have secrets they sometime share with Mia and some she has found out on her own. The scenes are well written and make it easy for the reader to envision the scene mentally and feel they are participants. If you have not read the previous books it is suggested you do so if only to get the nuances of previous events. Although you will enjoy book 3 on its own. I believe you will fall in love with the characters as much as I do and want to read more.

I gave "A Geek Girls Guide to Justice" a 4.75 out of 5 stars rating because it continues to provide quality enjoyment for the reader. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

IT nerd Mia Connors pulls a man from her gated community's pond. He's been murdered and is an old friend of her Grandma's, Dante Weiss. Grandma wants Mia to look into what happened to him. She does her thing online, and with lots of impromptu visits to people all while trying to keep 'out of things' for her boyfriend and the police's sake. Add preparing a baby shower for the most obnoxious and demanding of sisters and her normal duties in her family's company and with her game REIGN and you have a girl pulled in too many directions.

This book is a hot mess. If you lost the overbearing, melodramatic sister and that nonsense, the murder mystery isn't half-bad. Mia puts herself at risk stupidly a lot but she does ploddingly find a few answers. Would NOT recommend this book.

Another quirky read in the Geek Girl Mystery series, knowing Mia could be very bad for one's life expectancy...seriously a lot of people seem to drop dead around her. The story is right up there with the previous books, geeky Mia is dressed to kill, hunky Jake is there to pick up the pieces. This can be read as a stand alone, but reading the entire series is just plain fun.

This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Because I adore the characters that anchor this series, I enjoyed this book. But the mystery was disappointing for me - none of the suspects seemed strong possibilities. I didn’t think they were as well constructed as they might have been, or as the ones in the previous books were. That being said, if the author ever published another book in this series I would snap it up. The characters are completely worth it and I’d give the mystery another try because I enjoyed the first two so much.

Cozy Mystery with Humor and Heart

This is the third installation in the Geek Girl Mysteries and I loved it. My favorite part is how all the characters are fully realized. The relationships are strong and full of humor and heart. The mystery flows as Mia once again finds herself investigating a murder while juggling her increasingly busy professional and personal life. If you love cozy mysteries with romance and friendship, give all three books a try.

At last some lovely romantic moments in this engaging cozy mystery series. While I realize it is a common plot thread in the genre for amateur detectives, there are getting to be too many TSTL decisions in this series by Heroine Mia that kept this from being a 5 star rating for me...

I enjoyed the mystery but the ending of the story (and the trilogy) felt a bit too rushed. I think I would have either needed the relationships to have been handled a bit different throughout this book or another one for it to feel more true to life.

A little higher romance to murder mystery ratio than in the previous two books in the series, and I wouldn't have it any other way. A good balance between the two, while moving the storyline along on both sides.
