Is Karen Gray for real? Or is she some kind of Scottish voodoo vixen pulling a spell over the reader (I know, that doesnt make sense technically, but whooaaa!) Book #3 starts off right where Book #2 ended I have no other way to put this but- brace yerselves and join the mad ride that is The Saga of Thistles and Roses.

When I thought Book #2 was grim with whats happening to Ava I think Book #3 managed to top the darkness by being even more heartbreaking and full of scenes that were just out of

Karen Gray remains to date my favourite author, and that is not a position I offer to just anyone. I find Karen's work to be the very essence of fantasy at its best. She brings to life an enormous cast of characters, each with depth, backstory, and involved history. The stories themselves are emotionally gripping, full of twists, unexpected revelations and not to mention magic and creatures thought to be only legend. Karen easily creates a full and complete world, inclusive of strife, and it is ...more

The Battle of Bannockburn (5 stars)

Another absolutely outstanding book by Karen Gray. This third of five installments in the saga of thistles and roses has once again topped it's predecessors with beautiful character arcs, dizzying plot twists, action, suspense and adventure. In this book yet again the reader's focus turns from out original main characters and expands the plot and the map whilst also shedding light on the true natures of previously unexplored personalities. New relationships

I've jumped straight back into this world, as if I've never left. The plot has thickened significantly, the twists are coming hard and fast. I can't wait for the next instalment, the conflict and tension is building to an unimaginable peak. Oh, the agony of anticipation!

If you haven't started this journey yet, you need to. Really, you need to!

This is the third book in the series, and Karen has done it once again!!

Battle of the Bannockburn starts off from where book two ends. I love how the books just flow into one another. I thought book 2 was better but Ive changed my mind this is by far my favourite so far.

The plot thickens with lots of twists that I wasnt prepared for, the world building is just growing and I cant get enough of it.

Im really getting into the interesting writing style Karen uses, everything is beautifully described
