In the game of love, everyone roots for the underdog. You know, that girl-next-door type who wears glasses and has a shy smile and who falls for the most popular boy in school…she’s the hero of every story. And when the shy girl takes off her glasses and the quarterback kisses her and the crowd roars and the movie fades to black, people sit back and are satisfied.

But what

From the cover I was captivated as I loved the whole magazine theme that the author had chosen for her book and I knew I had to read it as though I may be in my late 20's now I still love my YA books. Reading the blurb it got me intrigued as the author was correct, most of the time we read books where the popular guy dumps the bitchy cheerleader for the nice underdog type girl , the girl whose a plain jane but really an amazing person or the book where the guy is a douche and he gets dumped for ...more

The synopsis of this book is what caught my attention and the overall plot hooked me in and kept me engaged throughout.

I love the idea of a story picking up after the Hollywood ending. You know the movies, where the "ugly unpoplular girl" gets the quarterback popular boy. But what about the girl that the quarterback dumps? Should I even care? Well, this author made me care.

Everything about Maggie Marion is perfect. Perfect looks. Perfect grades. Perfect friends. Perfect boyfriend. . . .or not.

A sweet coming of age Young Adult story with a heroine that blossomed though her heartbreak and loss.

From the beginning, it was so easy to read and get lost in the story. I mean, I don't often read YA but with HE LOVES ME NOT it was just so easy to want to know what happens next.

It wasn't easy to love Maggie at first, I just couldn't see through her point of view, she grew on me. They way she went through her first heartbreak and all the sadness that came to her life, I was proud of her. She dea

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Not because it is poorly written or the characters don't have depth, but because I disliked the main character SO much. Maggie is the kind of girl that you loved to hate when you were in high school; the one who had it all-until it all fell apart. Ms. Fowler does such a wonderful job of weaving Maggie together as a person that disliking her is effortless and you will find yourself reading the things she does and says w ...more

What a fun light-hearted NA/YA book. It's a sweet and short afternoon read. It only took me a couple hours to read it. This isn't my usually pick for a book but I did enjoy it anyways. There was a few scenes and even the ending that I felt were wrapped up a little to quickly but it didn't affect the book as a whole. I did not read the previous book in this series and I feel that didn't hurt me any when reading this one. I was not lost at all as far as the story goes. I thought it was great that ...more

When I first saw the synopsis for He Loves Me Not by Tierney Fowler I was intrigued. Partly because it was about a cheerleader, and since I used to be one that caught my attention. But mostly because it speaks such a truth. We are always going on and on about the underdog. We love seeing that person find their HEA against all odds. But what about those people that we assume have everything going for them. The ones that from the outside look like they have the perfect life so we just assume their ...more

He Loves Me Not is a well written and intriguing story featuring the high school “villain” aka the popular girl. We get to glimpse into the aftermath of what happens when she is left in front of the whole school and town during homecoming at the 50 yard line, when the popular boy found a connection with the nameless girl no one cared about. It is the formula for so many of the movies and shows I have watched and seeing the other side makes you stop and think. This book is not about revenge or fa ...more

When I first started this book I was like what the hell am I reading? This is just a bunch of rich spoiled southern girls who throw out backhanded compliments and think its okay as long as they say "Bless her heart" after it. I was ready to say I can't even with this book. BUT then.... it morphed and I was enthralled into the story. I couldn't believe what I was reading. The popular girl gets dumped on her biggest night. Slowly she started losing her friends and while most of the time I would ha ...more

He Loves Me Not is a cute story about the popular girl who doesn't get the quarterback (or the guy she thought she wanted). In this situation, you may think she is the queen bee: who makes fun of the geeks and nerds, roaming the halls like the girl almighty. However, this is not the case. It's about a girl who lost sight of things around her and truly figures out the person she wants to become. Throw in a mysterious guy and things will definitely get interesting.

A long time back I read Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous by Tierney Fowler, I loved it, it had a bit of everything in it for a NA book and ticked all the boxes for me. He Loves Me Not is book 2 in the series and is about AJ and Maggie (Although you do still get to see Nyx and Tristan).

I always bang on about it being hard to read something 'new' with NA books these days, with so many on the market but Tierney really did latch onto something good with this idea. Writing a book from the popular

I was provided a free e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The story wasn’t bad, but it’s not going to be one of my favorites.

We all love those stories where the popular guy falls for the shy girl. But what happens to the cheerleader girlfriend when he does? He Loves Me Not tells the story of Maddie who gets dumped by her mancandy in front of the entire school. During senior year, nonetheless! But then she meets AJ and he doesn’t care if she’s popular or not. He likes her for he

If I had to describe this book in one word? Cute

It was just a really sweet, often quirky with a side of kitschy little romance and a great coming of age story.

Although I really wish there was just a little more to this book because the ending was a little abrupt with a few unanswered questions (maybe we can get a sequel?!), I really liked the angle the author took with this book. We know the geek girl meets popular jock trope all too well, but what happens to the girl that’s left behind? What i

So ya know how we always root for the underdog..the shy girl who gets the hot football player from the witchy head cheerleader? Well what if that emo chick is really an uber bitch? A boyfriend stealing, mean, black wearing ho bag…what about the sweet southern girl that gets dumped in front of everyone on the 50 yard line…well this is her story.
Maggie is a true southern debutante. Right down to the “sugar”. Her 10 year plan is solid. Her future set. At least she thought it was. Maggie is such a

Love in high school especially during Senior Year can be tough even for a cheerleader. Prom, graduation, homecoming three things that can either make or break a girl and unfortunately it is a time that Maggie can`t wait to finish. Being dumped can be harsh but going from being popular to being shunned all in one week can be well quiet cruel. Tierney Fowler just made me laugh throughout the book by how well naive and sometimes silly Maggie sounded in the book. It felt to me the whole book was lik ...more

An interesting take on what happens to the cheerleader that gets dumped by the quarterback. Maggie is the quintessential head cheerleader , beautiful, a beauty queen and just concerned with what happens to her perfect life when the quarterback dumps her. Then she meets rocker AJ and realizes there's more to life than the white picket fence, 2.5 kids and her former quarterback husband. AJ (and Nyx) really expand Maggie's horizons and her definitions of what friends truly are.

ARC for honest review. I thought this story was very cute. I enjoyed it. It was different. It was not your cookie cutter new adult romance. I liked that about this story and found my self really involved in the story. It was creative and fun. I haven't read this author before, but I didn't have any trouble following the storyline and I will definitely be loooking for more.

I really enjoyed this book. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It was an interesting read, and an interesting point of view from the previous book. I really enjoyed seeing the character development of AJ, since you kind of "knew" him from the previous book.

Bless your heart!

At first Maggie annoyed me! I love the less popular girl getting the guy but through the book you get to see the other side and lots of possibilities! Such a cute book!

the whole idea of the classic teenage story told from the cheerleader point of view sounded to me like a good idea that hadn't been explored before. it actually surprised me how cute and sweet it was. i enjoyed it a lot.

Cute, fun book. I love it when main characters figure out who they are after some form of trauma.
I wonder if there will be another in the series from a different vantage point.
