Timeless information from an old book. Knap does a good job of presenting it without getting deep enough to bore.

A good quick-read and not a bad reference.
I recommend this book as an excellent introduction to living outdoors and wilderness survival.

This book gives a good idea about all the areas of outdoors-iness.
How to prepare food from hunted animals, how to know which knives to buy, how to suture an open wound, etc..

However, it is not a lengthy book and you will need other books for more detail.
Certainly, if you want to know more about plant life, for example, you need a book about plants.

The only thing I skipped were the couple of chapters about snow shoes and snow skiis and the like (because I'm not interested in snow locations).
