Galine thought she’d have some time to collect herself and heal after Sasha put a hole in Sirin’s chest. While she knew her immortal enemy wasn’t gone for good, she had hoped to at least take a breather. But before Sirin even makes it to her sickbed, Sera takes up her mother’s quest to hunt down the Gamayun. Sera isn’t just after Galine, though, but is furious that her brother Alex has joined the Gamayun’s cause. She’s determined to return him to the fold before their mother wakes up and demands retribution for Alex’s betrayal.
Sera isn’t Galine’s only problem, though. She still doesn’t know where Sirin’s demon hawks are taking the souls they steal. In order to find out, they must split up—Galine and Sasha heading to Chicago and Harper, Alex, and Katja to Brazil. Each journey brings danger, but Galine’s allies could be their own worst enemies. What does Sasha know about Sera he’s not telling? Will Katja ever forgive Galine? Why has Harper grown so distant from Alex?
The mystery, action, and romance of the The Gamayun Prophecies continues in this third book of the series.
When I first started to read this series, I was not sure if I could read this style of writing. But Lara has blown me away, with this story. It kind gets confusing, but if you read the other 2 books you look back know and say yeah that makes sense. It helps a lot to understand this story were everyone is coming from. Gabriel and Shasta are the main character and there trying to fight evil, and understand what part they play in destroying the evil. But all the other are just has important. I know I have lots of questions, but one thing I know is that Lara always answers them in each new book that come out.
This story is mystical, very emotional, it got mystery, humour, lots drama. But most of all their is a love story. I can't wait for the next story. I was given this story for a honest review.
Chase does it again. She easily draws us into the upside down lives of characters who would like to live more right side up! Even with this desire they have, Chase shows us that love will still prevail when you won't think it will, family looks like family with and without the same bloodlines, and hope is a thing with feathers (even when she doesn't want to be). Galine, Sasha, Alex, Harper and Kat have some interesting interactions with some new characters who all as of right now seem a little mysterious. Chase knows how to build a story and she knows how to land the triple axle and score a 10 (as seen in the city of Chicago--read it and find out!). I look forward to more of the show in Book 4!
I so enjoy this series and each new book. This third book is more focused on the relationships among them all then the earlier ones. I really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know the characters better. Galine and Sasha are such a great couple and they struggle to communicate at times just like any ordinary couple. We learn a lot more about Sera, Alex's sister as well as Alex's past with women. There are a lot of secrets that are being kept among them all and it will lead to quite a bit of drama when they are revealed. I love the moments of humor as well. I smile often as they banter with each other. They face great risk in taking on Sirin but their love makes them stronger. I am eager for the next book based on the cliffhanger ending.
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
After Galine's mother is killed, the group of five is on the run from Sirin and Sera, as well as the demon possessed birds that are Sirin's spies. They decide to split into two groups, and are determined to find answers to the portals, and why Sirin is stealing souls. This series is full of fascinating characters and exciting twists in the plot. I love this series, definitely a must read.
This is such an exciting series that just keeps on getting better. I honestly love everything about it. The characters are so well written, they make you laugh, cry and want more. Thank you Ms. Chase for another wonderful story full of adventure, mystery and love. Can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend to everyone. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book. It is my favorite so far in the series. The author has crafted an intriguing myth while delicately exploring themes of friendship, religion, and life amidst suffering. I enthusiastically recommend it!
