Fresh from a tour overseas, a stint on an oil rig, and a commercial fishing boat before that, Nick Barrett has been battling a case of wanderlust his entire life. When he’s given the opportunity to settle down in a permanent home, he naturally high-tails it out of town, gunning all 450 horsepower in his 1970 Chevelle in the process.
On the road, he meets Leah Lane, a sexy hitchhiker who gives him a run for his money. Will the two of them find what it is that they’re looking for or run out of road in the meantime?
Rachelle Vaughn loves reading all genres of romance and writing about sexy nice guys, hunky hockey players, and the occasional bad boy. When she isn't writing, Rachelle enjoys watching action movies, trying new yoga poses, and hiking in the Shasta Cascades. She lives in Northern California with her husband.
Like his sister Emily in Underneath It All, Nick Barrett is searching for answers and won’t let his foot off the gas until he gets them. Nick is an intense guy and hates to stay in one place any longer than necessary. Luckily, he stayed with me long enough to jot down the details of his story. Even though he tends to brood, I had a blast writing Nick’s point of view and taking a book out on the open road for the first time.
Runnin’ Out of Road takes place about a year after Underneath It All. I never meant to write a sequel to Underneath, but Nick refused to let his story be pushed aside. Boy oh boy, for a man of few words, his voice sure was loud in my head!
Although Nick owns a motorcycle, he decides to take his 1970 Chevelle on this particular trip to visit an old friend. When he spots a sexy hitchhiker up ahead, he’s awfully glad he chose the vehicle with the bench seat…
