Yves Abrioux is Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis. His research focuses on literature, art and gardens in relation to philosophy and science. He has lectured and published extensively on the work of Ian Hamilton Finlay and is the author of Ian Hamilton Finlay: A Visual Primer (1992). In autumn 2016, he was distinguished visiting professor at the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta.
