Harvey Hall is a family man, a business owner, a church deacon, a Little League coach and an upstanding member of the small North Carolina town of Frostville. He is tall, handsome and friendly. He is also a thief. Rainy O’Ryan is a woman with a tattoo of her profile on her shoulder. She likes to wear micro bikinis and long wigs. She comes from trailer trash and hustles for a living up and down the Florida Keys. She oozes sexual mischief. Men and women get hooked on her. She is always on the run. Good citizen Harvey morphs into Roger, a woman chasing player and once a month he would fly his own plane loaded with stolen cash to the Florida Keys. When his scams unravel, he steals a boat, murders the captain and recklessly teams up with Rainy. The unlikely pair live the outlaw life in the Bahamas until Rainy is beat up by Roger. She runs again. This time she steals Roger’s loot and the chase is on. Wilbur Bonnet is the chief of police in Frostville, North Carolina. He and his neighbors have been ripped off by Harvey Hall. Wilbur has made it his mission to find Harvey and recover the money. Rich men on mega yachts, erotic drunken sex and the wrath of Mother Nature create a fast paced steamy tropical adventure. From Islamorada, to Bimini, Spanish Wells and Eleuthera in the Bahamas, the action heats up and as Rainy searches for her Key West Escape.

From North Carolina to Key West to the Bahamas and back again, the action is nonstop. If you like sunshine, boats, dockside bars, fishing—you will love Key West Escape: A Tropical Adventure. Throw in the shady character of Harvey who disappears with the cash, starting a new life as Roger and all the other quirky characters are either searching for or running from him.

I really enjoyed the story and the characters (especially Rainy, a sexy hustler turned artist). The best part was the descriptions of the different locales, places author Chuck Ball has no doubt visited often. So, whether you are a tourist enjoying the spectacle of the sunset, in a beach chair somewhere or just wish you were, pick up Key West Escape and be transported.

Different and enjoyable

Like the plot and the characters but enjoyed how the author wove them in and out during the story and brought them together for the finale. Good read.
