I will start by saying that this is the first book I have read by Mrs. Lynn. I have always been fascinated with Peter Pan and even Hook. This book is as much Fantasy and Fairy tale, as it is should I dare say Fan Fiction. In this book we get to see a different side to Captain James Hook.

Hook's Little MermaidI have grown up knowing the traditional story of Hook and Peter Pan. This book gave me a new look at Hook and one that caused me to fall in love with him for the first time. I really enjoyed this book. It's a new spin on Captain Hook and I was hooked from the start. It starts off with a bang and keeps you flipping the pages, it starts at seeing the captain doing his thing and in search for something, it keeps getting better from there

I enjoyed this book and found it fascinating how easy it was to blend The Little Mermaid with Peter Pan. Hook is a compelling main character, and I didn't guess all the twists right away. The ending was satisfactory, if not exactly happy, and I REALLY can't wait for the next book!

The author skillfully weaves together familiar fairy tale characters and recognizable worlds with a unique new twist and offers interesting and sometimes painful origin stories. I enjoyed Hooks Little Mermaid despite the fact, Peter Pan is my least favorite fairytale! I really liked the spin Suzanna Lynn created, keeping true to the age old story while putting her own imagination in the world of Neverland! Interesting spin on the well-known stories of Captain Hook and the Little Mermaid, a bit long-winded at the beginning but with quite some spins and deep emotions. I'm not quite sure if I really like the hero or if he is more of the Hook we know (and dislike) than he wants us to believe but the Peter Pan is very interesting, very detailed and psychologically believable. I absolutely adore concepts like these that give a deeper, alternative take on classic characters. While it was an enjoyable read, I felt Hook's character lacked a complexity that could have taken this story to a whole new level. Hook lacked the true pirate nature, the hardness that comes with losing someone dear, and the commanding presence that is required of a captain. This was a quick and fun read. I loved seeing a new side to Captain hook, it is nice to understand the reasons behind what he does. Although this isn't a children's tale it has a light and whimsical feel about it. I will continue reading this series, I am excited to see how the tales that we read/watched as children will unfold and how she connects each one.

From the moment the story began, I was swept away into this magical fairy tale full of mermaids, pirates, fairies and of course, Captain Hook and Peter Pan. The author has weaved a creative web that ensnares you and captivates you while the narrator pulls off a fantastic reading. I not only fell in love with this version of things but also by the narrator who did one heck of a job... and did I mention how well he pulls off all the voices?!

I absolutely adored this book! I read both of them in a matter of hours! The book was introduced to me by my librarian and at first I was a little iffy, mostly because I'm a huge fan of Peter Pan and have been for years. It was a thrilling adventure and I could see all of the other fairy tales in it coming together. Absolutely one of the best books I've read. I definitely would read again and I definitely would recommend.

Loved this! An interesting take on an old character, I rather enjoyed learning about hooks adventures and it kind of made me really like him. Hook and all. Ever wonder how book became who he is? This book will give you that and so much more.
I enjoyed this new look at Captain Hook. He is a good guy, I mean he is a pirate but he isn't a BAD pirate. I enjoyed the book from start to finish. The narrator took some getting used to but did a pretty good job. It isn't a long book and I listened to it in one day. Not a book you are going to want to put down to do something and come back to but one you will want to read start to finish as quickly as possible. The author does a great job with her characters and keeping the story entertaining

We have all read and heard the stories of Peter Pan. We have even seen some glimpses of Captain Hook's origin... However, I guarantee you, you have NEVER heard of a tale as intriguing as Hooks' Little Mermaid! I was literally drawn in from the very beginning!

This was my first book I picked up from Suzanna Lynn. I found her at Penned Con in St Louis, and I wish I would have stocked up on more of her stuff when I was there!
This book is great! She does a wondeful job of weaving so many tales and characters into one story. Cannot wait to see what happens next and where this series goes. So good!
