Poconos Pack #3

Sorry, Charlie

Rate this book

For her, there’s only one fish in the sea.

Poconos Pack, Book 3

Charlie Lowe is going crazy. Why does her mate run from her? Is it her hair? The fact that she’s a Lion to his Wolf? Or are her family connections driving him away? If she didn’t know better, she’d think he was allergic to cats.

Ted Pedrozo loves his fiery Lioness with his whole being. But mating the sister of the Leo? That’s a big hairy deal. What if the Leo—or worse, Charlie—finds out he’s just a dork in wolf’s clothing? Ted never shies away from the tough jobs, but this time he steers clear… until she pounces on him like a catnip toy.

A little flirting, a lot of innuendo, and one dire threat of blackmail later, Charlie has her mate. And, wonder of wonders, he and the laid-back Sebastian Lowe hit it off.

The Leo’s chief bodyguard, on the other hand, won’t be convinced Ted is worthy until he’s passed a few tests. Or made Charlie sorry she chose him.

Warning: This book contains graphic language, explicit sex, and a Lioness going full-on Nala on her Wolf’s furry ass.

Dana Marie Bell

Dana Marie Bell wrote her first short story when she was thirteen years old. She attended the High School for Creative and Performing Arts for creative writing, where freedom of expression was the order of the day. When her parents moved out of the city and placed her in a Catholic high school for her senior year she tried desperately to get away, but the nuns held fast, and she graduated with honors despite herself.

Dana has lived primarily in the Northeast (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, to be precise), with a brief stint on the US Virgin Island of St. Croix. She lives with her soul-mate and husband Dusty, their two maniacal children, an evil ice-cream stealing cat and a bull terrier that thinks it’s a Pekinese.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! I bought this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I own the whole set!

The cover is great! Love it!!!

This is the 3rd book in the series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content. It is not mandatory to read in order; however, I think it is better when you do! This book is only about 76 pages long, and it is a quick read!

This is Charlie (who is Dave’s best friend) and Ted’s story. Ted is 2nd to Ben, the marshal. There is some trouble in the beginning and Charlie is not sure what is going on with Ted. They do figure things out, and there is some action with the Leo’s visit. I don’t want to ruin the story though. It was a fun read.

I highly recommend to shifter fans who like the world Dana Marie Bell has created and especially if you like HEA endings!! I have run out of books in this world for the moment, so I can’t wait for when I can get the rest of the Halle Shifter series for more of this world!

It was hard not to laugh at Ted and how he was scared of Charlie even though she was his mate. As Charlie was at the end of her rope with Ted I sort of figured their mating to be much more crazy. It was fun to see how everyone of the pack reacted to the mating and giving Ted a hard time for finally claiming Charlie.

The visit from Charlie's brother was fun at first. I loved how he teased Ted and how Ted kept going on and on about how great Charlie was. The hunting trip didn't go how I expected, but ended up doing one good thing. Sebastian's news definitely brings about changes for everyone, ones that will have long reaching effects.

A fun read and Belle was her usual self. Great characters and a great series.
2020 Updated review. Bought over library copy.
I bought this for a much more reasonable price but still not a lot of pages for the money.
I was happily reading away and then the book was finished, talk about feeling let down. I love a short story to keep a series going but charge accordingly.
Whilst I will continue to read her books, I am going to be more aware of how much I am paying and for how much story I am getting.
Charlie and Teds story was lovely and meeting everyone in Poconos again was great.
Why Ted was such a wuss I could not fathom. Would have loved to see Charlie chasing him around more.
Saying this, I think Ms Bell did not give enough background information on both of them. If you read this as a standalone you would not have the background information on them or the other characters to explain some of what went on.

A great bridge to (hopefully) more shifters. My only criticism is it was so short; not nearly long enough to pacify my longing for more halle/poconos/new shifter world building.

Heather's Notes
Ok, this story is cute, and finishes the series for me. Since the story arc was not completed, I am a little disappointed. The author has not written a new book in this series since 2017 so I wish she would have written a more complete ending. Still they are short and enjoyable.

Oh how I love Dana Marie Bell's shifter series amd Sorry Charlie was no exception. Charlie and Ted's story was filled with action, fun and of course heat that we all love. Charlie and Ted were a wonderful match once Ted got up the courage to mate Charlie. What a quick enjoyable read.

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

There's not much I can say about SORRY, CHARLIE other than it's a novella in the Poconos Pack series and is the story of Ted and Charlie. Despite being short, I really liked geeky Ted (who reminds me of my hubby) and the story is laced with the usual humour you will find throughout Dana's shifter series. I have to be honest, it took me a while to remember who Charlie was and despite reading all the books in the Halle Pumas, Halle Shifters and Poconos Pack series, I didn't realise she was the Leo's sister. Ted I don't remember at all. I guess this is what happens when multiple series are connected; it's difficult to remember all the players involved.

SORRY, CHARLIE is part of a series and cannot be read as a stand-alone. It's also linked to the Halle Shifter series, so if you haven't read that series first, you won't understand the backstory regarding the threat to the shifter community. SORRY, CHARLIE is told in dual POVs and being that it's a novella, it's a really quick and rushed read.

Always a good story...the humor is a bonus

Another great story set in the Halle/Poconos world. The Leo's sister, Charlie, is getting tired of waiting for her mate to claim her and is ready to take action of her own. When her brother comes to visit the Lodge, new revelations occur regarding attacks on young mixed breed shifters.

Throughout the story we get to revisit our favorite snarky Luna and the other characters that make these stories so enjoyable and frequent rereads for me. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys humor with their paranormal romance. For fans of Shelly Laurenston, S E Smith, Celia Kyle and Georgette St Clair.

So this is too long to be what I'd consider an "intermission" story but it is in some ways a filler story. Not in the Bleach sense, but rather in the "here's some stuff to fill out characterization" way. This story gets the Poconos pack all caught up with the Halle Shifters series. It also gives a little more substance to the Leo and his personality (dare I hope he or Kincade or he and Kincade are next to find their mates?). It's a super quick read and Ted is the cutest. I have a lot of friends like him so I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. Charlie's hilarious and the two of them together is great. Recommend but read in order.

Would not read independently of the three series by Dana Marie Bell: Halle Puma, Halle Shifters and Pocono Pack.

Lots of tidbits here and there that build on the last book plot and characters in Book 5 of Halle Shifters Series. Especially liked getting to know The Leo - lots of interaction of characters from the three series and the interrelated plot threads are being sown.

Also introduced to some great new Alpha characters and Packs that would be fun to explore in the future books.

Loved this quick read from Dana Marie Bell. Her books always infuse just the right about of sexiness and humor to create an engaging read. I really enjoyed how she connected what happening at the end of Sorry Charlie to what's happening in Halle Shifters series. The white shifter issue is definitely going to ramp up the action and I cannot wait for it to happen. Another great job from Ms. Bell.

Excellent quick read

I liked the Leo when we met him in Barney's story. I had forgotten that until they mentioned it. I like Charlie. She is very funny. I would like to know Ted better. It was great seeing our favorites again . Sebastian needs a mate. Kincaid does too. Keep them coming. I have read the series several times. Love it.

Great, as usual.

If you have read her books in this series before we you know what to expect. And your gonna laugh and really enjoy the the difference in each person as they play off one another. This one carries forward in the story and of the pack. Looking forward to the next story.

Great

Dana Marie Bell...good author, great imagination. Her books make me want to believe in the impossible. Shifters, white lion, wolves...I just wish that her books were longer. I finished this one in less than an hour.

Quick read

Nice quick read for to pass time until her next book.

It's fun to catch up on how things are progressing for the Pocono Pack. Plus we see how other shifter communities are dealing with the impending conflict.

About Charlie (Lioness) & Ted (Wolf). Some action, mixed well with some sex, and tons of laughs. Too short. It did touch on the white shifter issue that was mentioned in Indirect Lines. Kind of a tie over book to get the Pocono pack involved again with the Halle shifters.

DNF @ p. 68 of 164 (epub)

Urghh I'm done with this series. Again, a very cute summary had me so excited to read this but honestly they were mated and have sex by chapter 2 and it was just all too much.
