What do you do when your world falls apart? Your life is a mess, your best friend has died...and it’s all your fault?

How do you find forgiveness?

What do you do when you have been hurt and betrayed by the person who is supposed to love and protect you?

How do you forgive?

Marianne Evans takes us through a powerful story as our hero comes back from alcohol addiction. He is broken but determined to live a new life...but that new life won’t be easy and challenges hit right from the start of his release from rehab.

She also leads us through our heroine’s life as the past she thought was long buried rises back to haunt her. Secrets never stay hidden for long, and Pyper’s is about to become known to the world. Her battle rages as bitterness threatens to take a stranglehold in her life rather than the peace that comes with forgiveness. Jesus commands that we forgive every time, but sometimes that command is easy to say and not so easy to do.

There were just a few things that niggled, and so brought the rating down to 4*:

~ The language in a couple of places was a little coarse from my British perspective (I know Americans & Brits have differing views on words as to whether they are strong or not, so the same might apply with this too).

~ I am not a fan of tattoos. Alongside the fact tattooing has its roots in witchcraft, I don’t actually like the look of them anyway. I understand when a character has had tattoos done before he became a Christian. I also understand when characters have a tattoo done of a cross over a picture they already had to cover what they had before. In this case though, Chase had a cross done after he had become a Christian, just because he wanted the reminder. I can see why, but this was the only reason for it and it only played a part for that scene. I felt that wasn’t needed for this story, and the story was strong enough without this being added. However, this is just my personal preference.

~ I was pleased there were no bedroom scenes. However, the sensuality level was a bit high in places. I could have done with certain scenes not being quite so well described.

~ The story did take a while to get going. I found it a little bitty at the start, and struggled with it. Once it got going, I was hooked and wanted to keep reading.

For the most part though, I enjoyed the book. It was challenging. It was engaging. It was deep. The raw emotions of the characters as they battled with their need for forgiveness, their acceptance of that forgiveness, or extending forgiveness was very well written. I loved how the story focused on that deep need for a second chance

I also liked how Zach’s situation was giving book time. Children of Christians who are in ministry have a tough time with all the expectations placed on them, and he struggled with the media spotlight on him.

The music theme that wove throughout this whole story was something I loved. It was perfect for the story, and music lovers everywhere will connect with that in this book.

Forgiveness by Marianne Evans is the first book I have read from this author. It has a very emotional inspirational message about "forgiveness". I enjoyed it and really felt the pain the heroine, Pyper felt as a little girl being abused by a drunk father. I also felt the pain 20 years later by the man who sought after her forgiveness. I loved Chase, the hero. He, becoming a Christian as an adult after being in rehab for alcoholism is very mature in his faith for a fairly new believer. I loved how he wanted reconciliation between Pyper and her biological father. I also loved the sweet romance between Pyper and Chase. I recommend this book. *I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

Forgiveness

I could not put this book down. I became intrigued with Pyper and Chase and I needed to know more about their journey. I needed to know when forgiveness would come knocking on their door and ask them to let him in. I needed to know that the honesty and truthfulness they exhibited toward each other would continue throughout the story. I needed to know if Chase was going to keep walking the path of wholeness and would Pyper walk out of fear into love. I needed to see these characters come to terms with their past and exhibit love and forgiveness to the ones that hurt them. Yes, I was enamored, captivated, shattered, torn down, picked up, restored and rebuilt after I read Forgiveness.

This is a wonderful book. Very well written. Strong characters. Easy to read but can be extremely painful in many parts. As the adult child of alcoholics myself, I found this book to be helpful in dealing with some of my own issues. The hardest issue being, of course, complete forgiveness. What a tough topic to tackle, even if it is a fiction story. The truth of the matter runs throughout. Thank you, Marianne, for writing such a great book. I loved it!!!!! I highly recommend this one for everyone. I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I wrote this book in response to a call I felt to explore the issue of substance abuse, reform and redemption. What took me by surprise, and taught me so much, is the way Forgiveness became such a multi-layered, roller coaster journey of re-finding 'self' and counting yourself worthy of God's grace as well as extending genuine forgiveness to one who has hurt you. I hope you enjoy the journey! God's blessings!!

Forgiveness by Marianne Evans is a contemporary Christian romance. It has a strong message of forgiveness and God at its heart.
Forgiveness is as essential to life as breathing. We have all been forgiven and we all need to extend forgiveness. We are all covered by God's grace. Forgiveness is not easy. There is no gradient on forgiving - we just need to do it. Forgiveness sometimes needs help from God. It is not always possible to do but it is God's way. "Forgiveness... accept it and give it on His terms." Extending forgiveness frees us from bitterness and hurt. It is as much, if not more, for our sake as for the one we've forgiven.
The theme of hurt goes hand in hand with forgiveness and runs throughout the novel. We may have been hurt as a child and then held on to it for years. Today is the day to let it go and stop being bound by the past.
There is the theme of love covering the whole novel. There is God's love. "God gives love based solely on generosity and goodness." He loves unconditionally. There is parental, sibling and romantic love. All different but all essential to a healthy life.
Forgiveness shows the power of a father's love. Earthly fathers may be far from perfect. Sometimes others step in to the role vacated by the biological father. God is our perfect Father. He will not let us down. We know that we can always trust Him. Forgiveness alludes to the story of the Prodigal Son as it shows a father loving and forgiving his repentant son.
The novel deals with the tough topics of addiction and mental and physical domestic abuse. My heart just broke at the abuse described by an adult looking backwards. Marianne Evans portrays the scene with sensitivity.
Addiction can take many forms. It is alcohol in question in the novel. Addiction needs to be conquered and the sufferer needs help from both God and others. The reader is reminded that God can redeem and restore. "You need to see his redemption rather than his past." We are all a new creation in Christ Jesus.
Trust in God is vital to see us through life. "Take a leap...you'll either fly on God's wind, or He'll catch you if you fall." God is always there for us, walking us through our good and bad times.
There is power in songs. Sometimes a song can say what we are feeling when words are trapped in our hearts.
Forgiveness was a powerful novel. It spoke to my heart. Marianne Evans has a talent in presenting a story that gets the reader to question their faith. Who are we to decide who to forgive? Who are we to judge? Do we trust God completely?
Forgiveness was my first novel by Marianne Evans. It was a superb read. It had a wonderful storyline with likable characters and godly themes. I loved it.
Forgiveness is a compelling read that will speak to your heart. Highly recommended.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

The first words out of my mouth when I finished reading this book were "Great Book! Great Message!"
I thought this book gives a truly amazing lesson about forgiveness. Forgiveness for all, not just those we choose to forgive. If you believe God has forgiven a person, then how can you not forgive another person that claims to and has shown by his actions to have changed? Forgiveness is for all. The author has given this lesson wrapped up in a wonderful story. There is Chase, the former bad boy of country music and good girl, Pyper, step-daughter of a country music legend and up and coming Christian music singer/writer. Pyper is reluctant to believe Chase has changed and if he has, why would she trust him? Ultimately they end up making music together and Pyper learns a very valuable lesson.
There are some very, very dark moments in the history of some characters that may be upsetting to some readers. I must say it is very well written book, with very complex characters. It also contains a clean, honest romance. I enjoyed the inside look at some parts of Nashville too, particularly The Grand Ole Opry. Definitely a 5 Star read for me.
*I was given an advanced copy of this book to review as I like.A positive review was not required. This review was not influenced in any way and is my own personal opinion.

Forgiveness
By Marianne Evans

Forgiveness is a very powerful story by Marianne Evans about our hero , Chase, coming back from rehab from his alcohol addiction . The author grabbed me right at the start and did not let go till the end. When you get ready to read Forgiveness be sure that you have some reading time ,because where you start you will not want to put it down till you finish. I loved the story and the characters. Chase wants to rediscover what he use to have . I love that Chase became a Christian after all he has been through..Piper is not new to alcohol addition , her childhood life was not easy. She does not know if she can forgive her father. Piper will not let herself fall for a man that has anything to do with the bottle. Can she ever forgive and let her heart love a man like Chase knowing what he use to be ? Forgiveness is something that is hard to do sometimes. Marianne Evans writes a very heart warming story on forgiveness . this story really touched my heart.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told I had to do a review.

Tears flow as I read this incredible, powerful book.
Forgiveness,in my opinion, is hard for anyone, even a Christian.
This is a problem I struggle with daily.
This author shows the awesome power of God to show mercy and redeem the lowliest sinner.
One passage I loved, " God's will is perfect, even when we fall and make mistakes, even when we mess up his plan and leave him to pick up the pieces and reassemble them into something good."
Thanks for your words and I eagerly await other books.

Great characters, great descriptions, one of those books I hated for it to end. One I just wanted to absorb all the words in it. This book touched my soul. The best book by Marianne Evans, yet! I knew it would be, but was pleasantly surprised to find it was better than imagined.

This story acts as a beacon in our own heart as it exposes the fragile depths of Pyper Brock's childhood pain. I met Pyper in Heart's Key when she was five years old. What a blessing to see how beautiful she has become as a young woman.

Country music singer, Chase Bradington and Pyper Brock are both haunted by ghosts from the past. Chase nearly crashed his career when a wild ride with alcohol and loose women rocked his world. Pyper's early years held frightful memories of a formidable alcoholic father who beat both her and her mother, and before Pyper's 5th birthday he kicked them both out of their home.

Both Chase and Pyper are very strong characters, as are supporting characters throughout this moving story. Chase discovered God while in rehabilitation, by support of his sponsor, a man Chase had learned to love like a brother.

Pyper's faith is a strong aspect of her character. Her mother and adoptive father taught her about God's love and forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the essence of this powerful and inspiring story of brokenness and despair. The poignancy throughout this book brought me to tears as the past became the present. Faith, tolerance, love and acceptance lead to new directions in the path to healing. A song named "Forgiveness" played a significant role throughout this story, and I wish I could hear the melody that accompanies the beauty of the words that portray the true meaning of forgiveness.

The author has once again created a very touching, heartrending and inspiring tale of life at its lowest point and the healing process developed through faith and redemption. I highly recommend this very sensitive and powerful book!

Overall I enjoyed the story of Forgiveness.

Some things that bothered me were:

- the cover art. I don't drink so I felt uncomfortable being seen reading this book. Also it looked very low-quality.

- the amount of errors I found in the book. Words left out. Mis-spelled character name. Etc.

- the story got VERY bogged down in the counseling. It almost seemed like the author was a counselor and was writing from that perspective instead of the lead character's perspective.

We all need forgiveness; from God, each other, and ourselves

Chase Bradington, a well-known country music singer, had a very public fall from grace – his alcohol addiction was well-publicized. The book begins with him leaving rehab, focusing on a new start, trying to earn forgiveness. Chase is unwavering in his determination not to relapse. As he moves into his new life, can Chase forgive himself for Shay’s death? Will he truly accept forgiveness from God? Can he help others forgive?

Pyper Brock is a rising star on the country gospel music horizon. The Christian principles of her family are well-known, but Pyper’s rocky start in life is not. She has always ignored her past hurts, never dealing with her wounds. When her past is maliciously revealed, will she truly heal this time? Can she forgive the one who hurt her so badly?

Likes: Readers are given a look at alcohol addiction and Chase’s struggles in the face of temptation, his self-awareness of what areas are his weaknesses, his need for support and accountability, his determination to overcome, and his need for forgiveness both given and received. Readers are also treated to a behind-the-scenes look at life in the music industry. As Chase and Pyper moved forward in their relationship, they were open and honest with each other, not concealing their real selves or portraying themselves as someone they were not. The story had Christian values and morals.

Dislikes: Toward the end of the book, I felt it became repetitive, although people often process things by rehashing them. Also, occasionally a word or comma was missing that caused a minor hiccup in the flow.

This was a powerful book conveying important, life-changing messages. The message of forgiveness, the struggle to forgive horrible hurts, the restoration of relationships, the healing of minds, the coming of peace and joy. I would highly recommend this book, but for late teens and older readers. In my opinion, the themes can be applicable to any addiction, not just alcohol, and to any industry, not just music, so don’t let those aspects keep you from reading this book. This book is intense, gripping. I was hooked from the beginning.

*This book contains themes of alcoholism and domestic abuse.
“Addiction is part of your journey, but it’s not the full story. Nor is it the end of what your life is meant to say.” This is a hard-hitting, raw, emotional story about facing the demons of your past head-on and conquering them. Chase Bradington is a troubled country music star who rose to fame from his early garage band days. He was a shooting star who erupted on the music scene only to burn out quickly into alcohol addiction. After six months of rehab, he is ready to close the door on his past and begin afresh with his new-found faith in Christ.
Pyper Brock is the princess in her family of country music royalty. But she too has demons in her past. As she tangles with Chase, they careers merge together. A victim of abuse at the hands of her father, Pyper is unwilling to let down her guard to a man who is “ten-thousand shades of trouble.”
Drama and paparazzi surround them and rumors fly as they tentatively test out a romance. As their love grows, so does the scandal and heartbreak. “How could someone so wrong, be so perfectly right.” Surrounded by her family and supporting friends, they brave the emotional battlefield together.
This is a tender and beautifully written story of the journey from alcoholism and healing the suffering and pain it inflicts. Reconciliation, judgment, and condemnation are strong themes as are forgiveness, honesty, and reformation. This is an emotional story and can be hard to read. Real, honest emotions are conveyed with graphic details of domestic abuse. Marianne Evans has a delicate touch as she guides her characters through their journey of healing. Elements of faith are woven beautifully amid the sensitive song lyrics. “But life and love were never about playing it safe.”
This is a complex, intense book with sensitive topics that may be uncomfortable for some readers. There are many subplots and supporting characters. The different story lines build on the theme as the different characters react to the action. This is written for adults and I do not recommend it for children.

I'd give this book more than five stars if I could. I adored this story! Of course, I'm a sucker for musician stories, and in this book, both main characters were in the music world! The redemption of Chase, and the way he lived his newfound faith, was a breath of fresh air to read. And the way he was with Pyper made my heart melt. Such a wonderful story of what it means to truly live out your faith and to forgive, even when it seems impossible.

I already know I'll be reading more books by this author!

4.5 STARS!!

After 6 months in rehab, country music singer Chase Bradington is working on a comeback. The evening of his first comeback performance, Chase meets meets Christian music singer Pyper Brock. When asked to perform together on a future project, Chase and Pyper begin a tentative romance. Pyper has her own dark past that she never wants to revisit and when old hurts resurface with a surreptitious tie to Chase, bitterness and resentment threaten recovery, family and new love.

Forgiveness is a powerfully moving story about the devastating effects of alcohol abuse and the redeeming love and forgiveness of Christ. This is how I like my Christian fiction to look - hopeful, redemptive, transparent and authentic. This story had all of that in spades. Along with a lovely and passionate romance that blatantly put the Lord front and center, there is also the grittiness of real life and a sinful world. I liked that there was a strong message and faith thread woven from beginning to end. There were a couple of times that I was concerned, because I didn't like how a situation was handled and disagreed with a character's declarations. I feared those declarations were reflective of the author's voice and viewpoint which had sounded spiritually petty, trite or self-righteous. Fortunately, I was quickly humbled and found those same declarations would later be dispelled by the reformed and Godly man in Chase Bradington. Ultimately, this story was a beautiful romance with spiritual conflict and redemption that should speak about the hope of Christ to most readers. This was my first book authored by Marianne Evans and I am thrilled to find a new author to enjoy.

I received an advanced reader copy of Forgiveness. I was not required to leave a positive review. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Forgiveness. This is something I think we all battle with, at least I know I do. It's always nice to see reminders of it that give me a little push in my own life. That is exactly what this story has done for me. Reminded me that God's forgiveness is there for us to take, and we really should apply the same principle in our lives. Forgive others even as Jesus forgave us.

I immediately identified with both Chase and Pyper, and I automatically wished they would get together after their very first encounter! This was such a beautifully written story and I loved reading through their blossoming relationship. Both had their own issues, but they were open with each other and took their time moving forward.

I think Chase's story really spoke to my heart. Here is a man who was raised right, but kind of fell away from the things of God. It took him reaching rock bottom to find his way to God and start to heal. And it wasn't easy for him, but no one ever said it would be. I think we all go through that to some extent. Maybe not quite as bad as Chase, but we all have our flaws and the things that keep our minds on things other than God. Chase's story really touched me and encouraged me to get back on track!

Even though this is a work of fiction I still think it can speak to your heart. I hope you'll pick up a copy today! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions stated are my own.

Marianne Evans pens a poignant love story that will challenge every Christian's commitment to forgiveness. Pyper Brock, against her every intuition, falls hard for Chase Bradington, a recovering alcoholic who is attempting a comeback in the music world.

When she finally decides that perhaps Chase and God can heal her broken past, that selfsame past slams against her like an unexpected tsunami. Will Pyper live up to her words she professes, or is there a limit to "Forgiveness"?

The tension Ms. Evans creates in this book between Pyper and Chase is indeed, palpable. The reader is drawn into both lives, taking first one side then the other as Ms . Evans skillfully draws her complex characters. Secondary characters add even more tension and anxiety for the reader, and I for one, wasn't sure what choices several characters might make. (Which led me to turn pages faster to find out.) What a convicting read about words vs. deeds!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and have voluntarily provided my own opinions of this book.

Forgiveness
By: Marianne Evans

Heartwarming stories unfold throughout....

Have you had to ask for forgiveness? Has asking for that forgiveness been difficult? I think we can all say yes, but to some, asking doesn't come easy. That's where the story of Pyper and Chase comes in. Throughout the pages of their story, they teach us that asking for forgiveness is hard but it's easy when it comes from the heart and you have faith in God. It wasn't easy for them and the road they traveled was very rough and dangerous. With Gods love and forgiveness, could they conquer all that life had to offer? A story of redemption, a story of hope, it is one that will keep you on the edge of your seat, one that you'll cry with the characters, and one that will touch your every fiber. Marianne has brought forth the subject of forgiveness in this story, a subject that is hard for us all, only to help us to make it easy, easy to do and bring so much peace to our hearts. Join me for this beautiful read that will captivate you!

I love Marianne Evans award wining stories and Forgiveness did not disappoint. It was everything I've come to love about her pure romance-- Pure delight!

Once while mowing the yard a little Gardner snake reared it's head up at me, I pushed the mower at him and that was that. As long as I didn't think about it nothing much became of it, but if I talked about it that snake got bigger and more dangerous.

In Marianne Evans book Forgiveness Pyper learns love your neighbor is easier to do with some and harder with others. If she allows herself to think about them her demons grow bigger and more poisonous like that little snake. The more she lets the demons grow the harder it is to love her neighbors even the ones she truly loves.

Chase has his own demons to battle and when the two collide they learn how to battle them the right way and make beautiful music.

Forgiveness is a five star tale of harmony and love.

Marianne Evans writes wonderful Christian romance books. Even being a Christian I need ask for forgiveness probably daily. This is a story of one such sinner Chase Bradington country singer into alcohol and pretty much ruined his career decides that's not the kind of life he wants anymore. Meets a new singer Pyper and has a big interest in her. Pyper is going to keep back from him she knows his pass. Pyper to has a pass she needs to heal from. Will both seek forgiveness so they can move on with their lives? Can they forgive? I love how Marianne has written characters so life like that I like to know them. Did a wonderful job writing such a story on faith and forgiveness. I'm sure people reading this can find help themselves. We all should ask forgiveness each day so we can start our next a new. Wonderful story Marianne. 5 star

The story is original, but for you who are Christians there should be a warning - it is about an alcoholic coming back from rehab. He is learning how to come to live off the alcohol - and on CHRIST. This book has a lot of course language and it takes sexuality right up to the line but it doesn't go over it as far as I know - that is the caveat - once the language and sex came about - being a strong Christian - I could not go any further - the book was well written and the story line was strong and interesting - I was taken aback by it - I really enjoyed the story up until then - the book would have been incredible without all of that. I am voluntarily reviewing a copy of Forgiveness through the publisher and Netgalley:

Chase Bradington a country music bad boy is on the comeback trail, after completing Rehab.

Pyper Rocker is an up and coming country music star who is at war in her heart, a war between the past and present a war Chase wishes he could help her battle.

Can Pyper overcome her past hurts, and let herself fall in love with Chase? Can she forgive her Father and move on?

Forgiveness is a story of redemption, it's a story of human failings, but also of God's undying love.

I give Forgiveness five out of five stars.

Happy Reading.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a wonderful story of how you set yourself free when you forgive the person who has wronged you. Both the male and female protagonists are Christian singers and were extremely well written. Pyper is haunted by memories of being physically and mentally abused by her biological father when she was a small child. Chase is a recovered alcoholic. I don’t usually care for books about Hollywood stars or singing stars but I was touched by this book by Marianne Evans. I will be looking for more books by this author! I received an Advance Reader Copy of Forgiveness. I was not required to leave a positive review. This opinion is my honest review.

This was my first book by this author and I loved it. the story made you want to know how all these issues will be resolved. Pyper and Chase are reminders how God is a God of second chances. I love how the characters were recording a song about forgiveness and that was the issue the had to face.

You are reminded that forgiveness is not about the person but about you and your relationship with God. An unforgiving heart only captive is you and not the person who needs to be forgiven.

If you are struggling with forgiveness this book is a great start to letting go and to be free. I was very fortunate to be a part of the launch team for this book and was happy to post this review.

This book takes a serious look at the power of forgiveness in our lives and the lives of those we forgive. I could feel both sides of Pyper's struggles with forgiveness. I loved how Chase and the other characters in the book rally around her and help her in her journey. There are many journeys of forgiveness in this book with different characters. This book is well written. It deals with serious issues but also has some fun along the way with some clean romance. A thumbs up from me! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A well written, moving story that shows the power of forgiveness. The characters are believable, and you feel their pain and joy. While this book can be read as a stand alone, it is a follow up to Hearts Key, so it was great to reconnect with the characters, and to read Pyper's own story.

I received an advanced reader copy of Forgiveness. I was not required to leave a positive review. My opinion is 100% my own.
