In some Christian circles, talking about sex is a no-no and so many Christian women aren’t getting the advice they need; biblical advice about sex in marriage.

The author of this book, who also owns a blog by the same name, uses this book to show biblical quotes that underline what she is teaching. She is able to show that God doesn’t shy away from sex and that he does have advice for us on topics such as oral sex and orgasm as well as cultivating romance and getting ready for sex. ...more

So far it's great! Answers some very tough but real questions about sex in marriage! And she is SOOOO funny y'all! If you're like me and grew up with twisted thinking on this subject she'll set you straight AND use the bible to do it! She really essentially breaks down Song of Songs! It's phenomenal!

Although there are many decent books about Christian sexuality, J wanted to offer women a book about sexuality written as though it was a conversation over a cup of coffee. I remember a certain married friend pulling me aside during my wedding reception in order to educate me on the specifics of how to perform oral sex; although it was slightly uncomfortable and slightly exciting, I appreciated a friend giving me tips because it gave me a little confidence that new things weren't scary things. While there are references to love and lovemaking in the bible, there aren't exactly a lot of hot and steamy passages, or any detail about trivial marriage things, like how Abram and his wife decided (probably together, I don't see any woman making such a decision on her own) that he should sleep with someone else for the good of the future.
There are many (perhaps too many) references to Star Trek in the first chapter of Hot, Holy and Humorous. While I appreciate the first chapter describing ho

5 "Fun and Informative" STARS!

Told in a humorous, yet fundamentally and spiritually sound approach, J. Parker shares with women the value of a healthy sexual relationship within a marriage. She doesn't hold back! With light (and not-so-light) details, she arms and enlightens the Christian woman with information to help disclaim many of the inaccurate beliefs Christian women are raised with. - many times using Song of Solomon and other scripture as an appropriate reference to help discern. I’m going to be upfront: J Parker’s Hot, Holy and Humorous is not a book where I’m in the target audience. Not because I have any reservations about a book about Christian sex. Far from. This is a book written by a woman for other women. So, it’s kinda like Secret: Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman. So, sorry guys. Nothing is in here about how to reach the perfect male orgasm from a man’s perspective. However, that aside, I have to say that I enjoyed Hot, Holy and Humorous immensely ...more

Hot, Holy, and Humorous = OMG. First off, I appreciate Parker's openness. She's tackling such an intimate subject that few will even venture into. Let's face it, in most churches anything dealing with sex is an off limits topic. There are definitely moments of blushing and laughing while reading this book. I would LOVE to hear her speak; I have a feeling it would be one hilarious conference.

With all humor aside, Parker does give some great advice. I appreciate her willingness to be r

J. Parker writes the Hot, Holy & Humorous blog, where she uses a biblical perspective and a blunt sense of humor to foster Christian sexuality in marriage.
