I am reviewing the updated version of this book.
Rian the elder brother of Rory and Royce has been keeping a secret but that is not the problem in itself. The big blue dragon has kept it for over 100 years. Say What? Oh yea all hell is about to break lose and now he gets not only his brothers but also two entire dragon guard clans involved. What do you suppose this bunch of alpha males will find on their trip? And will they come back alone? Well if you have read this series, you know these dragon shifters rarely come back from any mission alone. We are given a hint perhaps in this book who the next book will be about which is totally awesome sauce. And we meet a few new faces along our journeys. I have to say so far in this series this may be the best one yet. It gave me a lot of reactions such as anger, I found myself wanting to smack Rian upside his dragonhead so many times. And I may have just found my next book boyfriend in this book :) oooh and what is going on with crazy dragon and Calysta? The story was fantastic, the characters males and females were all of great strengths we get no whiny heroines. And it leaves us wanting so much more.
I think all of these books could be read as stand alones but I would highly suggest you begin with book 1.

My mind has been totally blown with this 12th installment of the Dragon Guard Series. Nothing that came before in any past installment can prepare you for what you're about to experience. Here's the jist of it....
Rian Alexander O'Reilly, Leader of the Blue Thunder Cloud Clan & Audrey Catherine Dobresou (Pricess of the Green Isle Kingdom) know they are mates. Now all Rian has to do is get her out of Hell! ..For the past 100 years she has been the prisoner of the Demon Lord Adramelech, Chacellor and President of the High Council of Demons.... Rian has been trying to do it alone and has done things he is not proud of to this end and finally goes to the Clan for help in order to end Audrey's torture and save the one he loves...... The Dragon Guard takes on Hell itself Demons, Hellhounds, all manner of vile creaures, & Black magic......This is that story......
But Julia leaves you with a little tidbit of what's on the horizon......Claire Featherstone, Leader of the Clan of the Sun, will be riding in soon on her Harley to answer the call for help from her mate.

My least favorite of the series. The H and h spent very little of the book together. There was a lot of repetition and explaining things 3 or 4 times when once was sufficient. I'm not even sure I consider this a romance since a lot of it was describing in great detail the torture of the h. There is also the fact the so-called Hero kept the h a secret from everyone for almost a century, knowing she was being tortured in hell by a high level demon. The explanation for the H's reasoning was stupid considering he had felt the many scars on her body.
I started to give this book 1 star, but the writing was not the worst I've read despite the grammatical errors and rehashing of scenes. There are worse books out there, so I settled on 2 stars.

If you’ve got this far in the series your hooked for good , and we all know their are certain characters that you can’t wait to find their stories.
Rian is one of those , this will not disappoint.
Excellent, addictive, stunning.

Hostage to a demon anyway
Her uncle was one bad piece of work. I hope he got what he deserved at his end.
It’s a pretty convoluted journey to their HEA, and there are some unanswered questions at the end.
I have most of the books in the series, but haven’t read them in order, so I know these questions get answered.

Great read!
This was an great addition to the series. The storyline flows and keeps you pulled in. I really enjoyed it more then the last two. I recommend this book to everyone who likes Dragon shifter books!

Audrey has been sold to the Chancellor and President of the Hight Council of Demons. She's had a demon spirit placed inside her to keep her in hell. Every full moon, she is allowed back to Earth for 24hours, where she has found her fated mate, only to be ripped back into hell. Adramelech, the Chancellor, wants her mates name and continues to torture her to get it. Audrey, spending her 24hours in ghost form on Earth with her mate, refuses, knowing he wants her mate's soul. Rian, the Guardian Leader of the Blue Thunder Clan of Dragons, has been hiding this secret from his dragon brethren for 100 years trying to rescue her to no avail. He needs the magical stone and finally enlists help from his clan. This one has a tormented twist to the storyline that can not be denied. I was rivetted to each page waiting to see if the Universe had made a mistake or if Fate would be denied.

Rian has been keeping a secret for over a century which has been quite a feat as he is a fearless leader in his Dragon Guard Clan. Audrey is beautiful and alluring. She is the other half of his soul however he just needs to find a way to free her from the clutches of Hell’s Chancellor. Can he persuade his Clan and others to help free her from the evil that has trapped her there?
This was a lovely story that had loads and loads of drama, danger and excitement as they all battled to save everyone. Well written and a very enjoyable story that will keep you hooked.

Once again Julia has taken us back to the land of the Dragon guard shifters and their beautiful mates. I would heartily recommend this book to all who love great romantic shifter tales. Rian knows his mate Audrey is trapped in hell slave to a Demon Lord and has kept his secret for nearly one hundred years. Readers should enjoy following the journey that Rian his dragon friends, mates and witches embark upon to rescue Audrey and find Kayne another dragon shifter missing for 100 years.

INTERESTING SERIES, BUT BECAME REPETITIVE AFTER A FEW BOOKS
After reading a few of these, I decided to write one review for all of them. I found these books to be pretty good, if somewhat formulaic. If a reader is looking for a good story with some drama & where the main characters go through some terrible things, but ultimately end up together, I think they will enjoy this series of books. It is sometimes nice to read a "happily ever after" story.

I didn't know this was the 12th book in a series. It's the first I've read (that I recall). I believe it can be read as a stand-alone as I wasn't lost throughout the story. There were quite a few characters to keep up with, however.
I enjoyed reading about the mix of characters and the story line kept me reading until 2:30am.

Julia Mills always writes a great story seems each one gets better and better. This one was so exciting the description of Hell is amazing. I could almost picture Crowley or Lucifer himself walking into one of the scenes. An amazing story ready for the next one. Excited to read each one thank you Julia.

EPIC
WOW! Just WOW! Words fail me.
Compared to the previous books, this is epic, in my opinion. A pair of destined lovers in the worst possible circumstance, literally prepared to die to ensure the other's safety. Friends and family risking everything in a battle of good vs evil that could save more than just a fated pair.
This deserves more than 5*!

Loved it!
This story has so many trials and tribulations. It got my heart going. I truly felt for what the characters were going through and I love the true feeling of family at the end.

Poor Rian meet his mate 100 years ago but she is a prisoner of hell and also has a demon put in her when she was first dragged there.rian would have to summon her every full moon to see her and has been for 100 years hoping to find a way to free her.very sad a short read

This book followed the. Story lines of her other Dragon books. I guess what bothered me was the demon aspect. I like happy endings and the family of it all.
