This is a very useful guide, especially if you're new to cocktails. As the title suggests, it's a manual, and something you go to when looking up something specific. The manual provides some advice on what to serve, depending on the circumstances (I.e. event, mood). It also provides a plethora of cocktail recipes that are easily accessible, even for the novice. In addition, snapshots are provided of the various spirits used in cocktail recipes, which I find interesting. Finally, it's a very nice looking/well put together book. Highly recommended!

I loved every aspect of this book: the organization, the photos, the charts, the fun visuals, and more. In addition to broad categories, the book is divided up into 285 bite-sized sections, both visually and textually distinct from the rest. The lighthearted writing was fun, the recipes delicious, and the background history fascinating. Absolutely five stars!
