I was pleasantly surprised by this beautifully illustrated book that prepares readers hearts for Christmas. I liked that the paper was thick like card stock. I liked that I wont have to worry about the pages ripping so easily. The illustrations on the pages look like the kind youd use on a felt board. It makes you feel like you can move the pieces around on the page. Then there is the page that has a Love Letter from God. There is a scripture near the envelope. I liked that the reader has to ...more

Christmas Love Letters from God is another new edition to our family's 25 days of Christmas books collection. I am especially excited about this one because I love Glenys Nellist's writing and particularly her other Love Letters from God books. The sparkle in my grands eyes when they read a personalized letter from God is absolutely priceless.

The story of Christ's birth is told through seven different sections and they begin with the prophesy in Isaiah. After we hear from Isaiah we switch to

Christmas Love Letters from God: Bible Stories is a lovely Christmas-themed childrens book, written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Rachel Clowes. This is the third book of Nellist's that I have received for review, and I absolutely love it! I review a lot of children's books, but Nellist's are some of my very favorites.

The book covers the Biblical stories of Isaiah hearing about the Saviors coming, Mary being told she is with child, Josephs dream, the birth of Jesus, the shepherds meeting

I've read several of Glenys Nellist's books for children and can say this is the best one so far. There is so much to this lovely book. Seven stories are laid out with scripture, one of Glenys's beautiful poems, a letter from God, and a little scripture tucked into the illustration. I could easily see this becoming a tradition to read the week before Christmas, sharing one story a night and writing a letter to God on Christmas Eve or Christmas day. I love that she begins the stories with the ...more

A unique book for kids during the Christmas season. Each section tells of the people involved in the events of the Christmas story in an easy-to-understand format for older kids. The story is retold in poem style, making it great for younger children to understand. After each section, kids get a note from God talking about the events surrounding the Christmas story. This is a book both of my children have enjoyed over and over again, and I know they will continue to enjoy for years to come. *I ...more

A lift-the-flap book that tells the story of Jesus's birth from Isaiah spreading the word through the Wise Men bringing gifts to the Christ child. On the page with each story is a flap with a new letter from God to the owner of the book, and the penultimate letter is about gifts the child can give God. The final flap is where the child who owns the book can write his or her own letter to Jesus.

Christmas Love Letters from God is a beautiful collection of Bible stories for children. Nellist uses scriptures from Isaiah, Luke and Matthew to weave together the story of Jesus. The story is a beautiful mix of storytelling and poetry and illustrations. Clowes' collection of artwork and pictures of tokens share pieces of the story in a beautiful way. I know that kids will love the life-the-flap feature, that shares letters from God specifically for the child reading the book. The letters made ...more
