"Now don't be beef-headed. I fear the Lord. And I don't much care for spiders."

A captivating thrill ride with a whip-crack plot that pulls you along. What seems to start as a Western quickly becomes something much more as the monster-plagued dystopian world of Verde is revealed to hold secrets significantly deeper and more complex. An engaging story of friendship, faith, and one of facing one's fears that spans genres. Michael Ripplinger has crafted a wonderful story, fantastic for readers of al

A fine first novel and definitely appropriate for the YA audience. I'm excited to see what happens in book 2.

Loved it! Great exciting story! Thought the author had lots of imagination. I haven't read a book that I was this into since the Hunger Games (and I liked this book waaay more!)
I was relieved that there wasn't the self-absorbed element to Siv's thoughts like there were in the Hunger Games and Divergent(so annoying!).
Overall it was such a great read! Very interesting with the mystery of the demons and the truth of what they were being unraveled slowly through the book. I loved how "clean" the bo
