I decided to read it because the blurb seemed really interesting and I'm a sucker for second chance romances that span a couple of years. Sadly, it wasn't as good as the blurb made it seem. A fantastic read about getting a second chance. Passion. Suspense. Just a great book.

We all dream of a second change, or maybe even a way to make things right again with a person who we have loved and lost. This was the idea behind this book.

I tried to bring to the reader a descent piece of Australian history and local history from where I grew up with this story. The characters in this book are unique both in their struggles and their emotional journey to try and find happiness and be given their second chance at love.

Faye Hall spent her early years listening to stories about the families – including her own – who settled townships in and around her hometown in North Queensland, Australia. The local townspeople, including her own parents, told her stories of corruption and slavery, along with family secrets and forbidden love.

Desperate to remember what she’d been told, along with her already growing love of wr
