Where I found you really kicked me in the heart from the first page to the last my emotions were just all over the place . The wonderful characters , heart breaking story line , and the emotions that shown through made a recipe for a marvelous read . I loved how the couple meet it's at a time were they both are having a bad day and once they meet Ellie and Callum can't get the other off their minds . I feel like the minority here. I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It was an enjoyable read. I will read from this author in the future.

Ellie was my favorite character of the book. She had a very difficult childhood; an alcoholic mother, an evil and sexually abusive step-father who was ultimately imprisoned for his crimes. I must say, some details/flashbacks from Ellie's backstory could be triggering for some readers.

With all the trauma Ellie has endured, she was still very much

Where I Found You was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right away and couldn’t put it down.

Ellie is leaving town to have a new start like she promised her grandmother. While on the bus she meets a handsome man, Callum. There is something about him that pulls her in. He really should come with a warning label, good Lord!

Callum is heading home after a horrible visit with his brother and father. When he literally runs into Ellie he is immediately drawn

One of the most important things for me when I read a book is the hook IT sends me while I read the first few pages. This book gave that to me. If you are a reader who owns or had at least own any sort of brokenness in life, Where I Found You is simply a book about that and many more… like there’s hope in everything and that time heals all wounds.

Ellie had a happy childhood until her father died, and then it became the worst nightmare, as her mother couldn't stop drinking. Finally, after the last person she loved died, she gets a new start away from the town that held so many bad memories. While getting on a bus, she meets a stranger that thaws out her frozen heart a bit with the instant connection, but she shuts him down. Imagine her surprise, when they come face to face again through mutual friends in the little town she settled in. ...more

This was an definite emotional story. I can't believe that this a debut book??? If you like stories with some tragedy in them then this will be right up your alley. I also love the stories that are told between the past and the present as though you are opening up a series of hints until you get to the full story. Ellie basically needs to start over fresh after escaping her home town gossip/drama after her grandma passes away. When she meets a stranger on the bus, the story begins. It was like ...more

Where I Found You by Brooke O'Brien was emotionally intense, and heart-achingly beautiful! This book left me breathless and wanting more. From start to finish you will have tears in your eyes.

"I've spent most of my life picking up the broken pieces of my heart. But there is no guide to help you navigate through the stages of grief. Everyone has their own way of working through it, but for me what I wanted was to be left alone. The solitude of silence.

Where I Found You by Brooke O'Brien is such an incredible read!!

My first thought after reading this novel, is that I can't believe it is Brooke's debut novel! How is that even possible?? There was so much detail and depth not only to the plot line, but also to the characters and their emotions. There was never a moment whilst reading, where I felt as though I didn't know the characters or how they were feeling. Instead, I felt as though I knew the characters on a deeper level. Something much

What an emotional, intense read. This book touched on a very sensitive topic and Brooke O'Brien did an amazing job handling the subject matter. The character development was spot on. Brooke’s words made you feel for the characters and made you want to keep reading to see how the story unfolded. I loved that the story was about real issues and everyday people, no billionaires; just every day, hardworking people that you could see yourself be friends with.

Right from the start, I loved Callum, he

This is a stand alone novel, the whole plot revolves around one single circumstance of Ellies past and you can understand from the moment you read the Dedication, that this book has a happy ending which is so inspiring for those who have a difficult life, basically that part was what I was attracted to, mainly, the fact that the female protagonist Ellie, does not walk around crying by the corners but takes action and continues her life until she is happy with everything. I simply loved it, and ...more

First, great job, Brooke on your first book!! You nailed it!

Where I Found You is a book about a girl, Ellie, who went through traumatic events as a child. These events lead Ellie to build a way of defense so that she cannot be hurt again. It takes a special person to take down the wall brick by brick which Ellie finds in this story.

I would like to preface with saying this is the first romance novel I’ve ever read. I was a little slow getting into it at first because it was something different

This is a new to me author and I believe this to be Brooke's first book.

Ellie and Callum are both runing from their past when they collide at a bus depot in Chicago. Little did they know that this wouldn't be the only time that would happen.

When they finally meet again through mutual friends, the connection they shared in their previous brief encounter only intensifies. However, Ellie's past leaves her not wanting to get close to anyone. Fearing she may not be able to stick around. Will that

I was excited to find a new to me author, then I realized that Where I Found You is Brooke O'Brien's debut book and could not believe it. The story is well written and pulls at your heartstrings. Saying that Ellie has had a rough life is an understatement. After her grandma dies she leaves town to start over. Callum has had family issues in his past as well. They meet on a bus in Chicago heading to Iowa, and they have chemistry right away, when they arrive they go separate ways. Ellie finds ...more

Where I Found You is Ellie and Callum's stories of hope, strength and growth. Ellie is a fighter and I loved seeing her grow confident and strong. Callum at first bugged me, it was like he was always pushing and I wanted to tell him to back up she will do it in her own time. However. I quickly learned Ellie needed that push. There is some triggers in this book, they are handle with care and seeing what both had to go through to be who they are sewed this story up nicely. I enjoyed Brooke's ...more

Getting to know Ellie was a blessing, she has been through so much but she is such a strong woman. I was so surprised by how she handled things from her past and just jumped on a bus to start a new life. She went through so much! This book is an incredibly beautiful story, it has some hard topics. These hard topics show that life isn't always sunny but that it has it's dark sides. But luckily there are good people like Callum that make it worth fighting for. This book is a must read! I was very fortunate to receive an advance readers copy a week or so ago and once I started I couldn't stop until I knew how it ended. Ellie and Callum story was magical. If you love ooey gooey mushy books with a twist, I must insist you buy it. Although I did receive an advanced digital copy, I bought the paperback.

This book was really good! I really enjoyed Callum & Ellie's story. The author really did a great job with an intense subject of child abuse and molestation but was presented tastefully for such a horrible subject. A story of hope growth and a chance at love. Good read!!!

I think this is a good first book for a new author. The basics are there, they just need to be polished and improved which I think just comes with time.

Things I liked:
Ellie is a pretty darn good main character. (Also her last name is pretty fantastic ;)
The flashbacks, although so very sad, were extremely well written. They were very captivating and emotional and just really really good.
I love the small town setting and although I would have loved to see more of it I think it was still very

A really great debut novel from author Brooke O'Brien. And this book is the start of what I am sure will be a really promising series.

In this story we are introduced to 22 year old Ellie. She is trying to escape her past and the sadness and losses she has endured. Now, pretty much all alone in her life, she id off to travel to a new small town of Arbour Creek, for a fresh start and new beginnings. Where I Found You by Brooke O'Brien is a story of creating a life despite the ugly past that you have endured. It is about finding friends that become family and even allowing yourself to find love, when you aren't sure you deserve it.

I am such a sucker for small town romances and this book had me sucked in right from the beginning! It was such an emotional book and both the main characters were absolutely great!

This is the debut novel for Brooke O’Brien but you’d never know it, I was captured from start to finish.rooting herself and moving to a new city to hopefully start afresh and finally put her past behind her.
Callum is travelling on the same bus as Ellie, and that’s where they first meet and make an instant connection, which Ellie fights. When they reach their destination, Callum clearly sees that she is alone and asks if she needs a lift. Running scared Ellie doesn’t accept his offer of help and
