This was unexpectedly good. I enjoy K-Pop and various Japanese media, but I had never really read about Korean pop culture in this way before. This book was valuable because of the subject matter it discussed. The actual writing is academic. Which means that its laden with alllll this ideological flavor text rather than just giving you the information. So the entire thing is written as though all your priors are that of a liberal or socialist democrat of some sort. But whatever, you should be ab ...more
