One word: transitions. I literally cribbed her dialogue highlighting transitions and adapted it for my own storytimes. Everything else was pretty standard for your average Storytime 101 manual. Katie Fitzgerald also introduced me to something I didn't realize was a Hot Trend in children's services in using a ukulele in storytimes. YMMV.

I'm glad to have written this book, which puts to paper my philosophy for planning and performing story times. I truly believe that most people can learn to present story times well given the right tools, and I focused as much as I could on empowering librarians to learn what works for them and less on promoting a particular trend or agenda.
