Volume 11 of One-Punch Man is the most underwhelming installment of this ongoing manga series. I understand that ONE further expands Saitama's world by introducing the realm of martial arts (that turns out to be a separate "group" like the Hero Association) through the martial arts tournament and the Monster Association that has just recently launched simultaneous attacks in multiple cities, but the charming protagonist, Saitama should still be given those sweet, funny moments. Volume 11 doesn't ...more

Metal Bat is the main attraction in this volume, and he definitely gets enough spotlight to showcase more of his skill set. It was fun and interesting to see what he was capable of and to finally run into the little girl that he cares for with all his heart. The rest of the volume is a bit more shaky and very weak compared to the whole run so far. It really felt like there was an intention to push some little ideas a bit further without giving too much of anything good.

I really wanted to see the

Perfection. Blends comedy martial arts and superheroes all too well.

Weakest volume so far. Hope this ain’t going downhill.

What’s it about?
That is something I couldn’t explain without spoiling the previous volumes so I’m gonna skip that.

Pros:
The story is fun and while not the most gripping story in comics it is something that will keep readers interested.
The characters are still interesting. One that is particularly interesting is a new villain that is revealed. At first she looked like a gratuitous fan service character based on her costume (imagine a Dynamite

I hadn't expected this one to pop up already. :P But boy, I am happy that it did, because I wanted to continue reading and seeing how everything would turn out.

And it turned out to be super-chaotic. That is why I am rating this a 3.5 stars. It had good battles (not only with the monsters vs the humans/heroes, but also with Saitama/Charanko's competition), it had a few hilarious scenes spread here and there (like the whole Zoomen stuff, I just laughed so hard when Saitama said he found the pink

Something big is coming...

All in all, with the action and humor, another awesome volume...

And again, Metal Bat-loved that guy...

Ha, Saitama is not a team player. I love when he's just like watching TV or playing video games or whatever. It just makes me laugh for some reason.

Well after reading the books and watching the show first things first i the the show was way better but now to get back on track. This is towards the end also known as the best part too. But I will give you some background info on one punch man, first things first his real name is Saitama who is a hero for fun.

His hero name is one punch man I am pretty sure you could guess why he is called that given by the name. He himself can not even explain his immense amount of strength and energy. When

This volume was chaotic with all the storylines going on. It's almost like the author wanted to tell one story about Saitama in a martial arts tournament but the higher ups were like you've got to keep using all these better looking hero characters that have become popular with fans so tell this other story about all the monsters attacking. It's almost frustrating to have the relatively peaceful tournament going on while all these other cities are falling apart from monster attacks. On the other ...more

I'm not a massive fan of this book, it tends to bore with the Garo conflict. One-Punch is sidelined here for a marital arts contest that doesn't takeoff like it should. I'm all for the books mixing up support characters with main characters but this sacrifices all the time away from the one character I want to see more of. The book isn't horrible but it is a step down considering the last few books were heading somewhere interesting.

A change in pace as it focused more on other heroes. It’s not a bad thing but certainly takes the manga in the genre that it tries to dismantle in a humorous fashion. But it seems like the plot is reaching a boiling point where everything is about to hit the fan so it’s got me excited.

The hero association's corruption us an interesting development, as is the relationship between King and Saitama.

This series *should* feel stale, but it just keeps on giving.

So much silly fun.

Monsters are attacking a several sections of the city! & Bald Cape (Saitama) reads manga and slaps competitors in the competition. This series continues to make me smile!

Reread on September 8, 2019 to freshen up my memory. I'm glad I did, there was a lot that I forgot! My opinions remain the same though!

1) The artwork! The centipede monsters were really awesomely done!
2) That showdown between Metal Bat and Garo was pretty intense. Loved it! (Is it possible to have a literary crush on a manga character? Because Metal Bat has my heart!)
3) The storyline is getting chaotic, but in a good way! Monsters are showing up everywhere and without enough heroes to fight

A tournament arc! How unexpected. As ONE redirects the reader's attention between a full-on invasion by "mysterious beings" and the tournament arc, he demonstrates his creative genius through introducing a ton of momentarily interesting (and disposable) characters. Between the tournament participants and the wave of mysterious beings, from murderous martial arts practitioners to cockroaches to serial murdering aliens, everything is on display here! Though progress against the real big bad, ...more

One-Punch Man, Vol. 11, written by ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata, stars Saitama, the titular, "One-Punch Man." After years of training, Saitama has become so powerful he can defeat virtually every enemy with a single strike. There's just one problem: according to Saitama himself, "overwhelming strength ... is boring."

This particular volume of One-Punch Man features more Garo, S-Class hero Metal Bat, the tournament sub-plot continues, and monsters have started their own invasion.

Still kinda bugs me a hell of a lot that VIZ leaves the Centipedes as "Centichoro" and "Centisenpai" but "Kinzoku Bat" is translated to "Metal Bat" and fucking "Inazumax" is "Lightning Max," losing the portmanteau.

Anyway, we get ever-closer to the arrival of the "Monster Association" (Phoenix Man gives a flyer to Garou) while Garou continues his "hero hunt" and the "Super Fight" tournament begins for Saitama. While I still more-or-less respect ONE's desire to stretch the Garou/MA arc out a bit

One-Punch Man, Vol. 11 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next six chapters (56–61) of the on-going manga series and one bonus story.

The tankōbon continues the story with Metal Bat fighting Centichoro, a gigantic bug, when he is flung away and then attacked by Garo, the Hero Killer. Garo had a feeling that Metal Bat might not survive the attack. Therefore, Garo challenges Metal Bat to a fight before that could happen. Garo and Metal Bat's fight comes to a draw when

This one is just barely 3 Stars....
I'm not sure how I feel about this series. The whole "one punch" gimmick began to get old, and then he fought the alien that took more than one punch. They've been able to provide some depth to the series through the use of side characters, but even that too is getting dry. If they want to establish this manga as pure comedy, I will probably pull away from it. If it goes back to the action that made it so great in the beginning, I'll continue on.

This volume is great, the role of Metal Bat is perfect in no time feels forced, his presence shines on every page, and his little sister is super badass, the presence of Garou is good always leaves you wanting to see more of him, the tournament of martial arts is becoming increasingly interesting and the plot of monsters attacking different areas of the city is shocking, this is a very complete volume in terms of plots is concerned.

The early volumes of One-Punch Man were so clever and humorous because they subverted the superhero/shonen genre. We had a host of over-the-top, irrelevant heroes who were continuously outperformed by a understated bald dude who exercises regularly.

The further we get into the series, the more relevant and competent the huge cast of heroes is becoming, and the tone of the series is changing gradually from a parody-comedy to a typical superhero/shonen drama. In this volume, Saitama enters a

It was a lame move from Garo to fight Metal Bat in the condition he was. Thus, I kind of no longer look forward to him confronting Saitama because I just hate him, he was a great villain but that lame move made me not want to look forward to his fight but the only thing that can change my mind would be if the fight is spectacular and mind-blowing. The scenes with Zenko was actually really hilarious. I didn't really enjoy Saitama as Charanko because I didn't get enough of the part of the story to ...more
