A Preview of What You Will Learn
Truly Understanding Your Target
Why You Need to Know Your True ValueWays To Express And Leverage Your ValueDeveloping A Strong ResumeUsing Communication As A Marketing WeaponMuch, much more!
Here Are Some Tips Straight From the Book
"- One important aspect to finding the dream job is to take time to reflect and analyze what skills you bring to the table. You will not be able to convince anyone else of your value if you cannot make a list of what things you have accomplished and how those things have benefited you or a prior company."
"- You want the interviewer to think of you as an individual that they want on their team, someone they can work next to that can help them. A simple way to do this is to ask the interviewer questions. Asking questions relevant to the job makes you look as if you are willing to take an active role in the job and potentially have more to offer."
"- Make sure you explain to the interviewer the value you provided to your previous employer. Instead of saying how you did a great job for your previous employer and how hard of a worker you are say how your accomplishments created growth within the company and increased revenues or streamlined tasks to save time and payroll hours. This will make the interviewer perceive you as an asset and not just an employee."

Eyeopener

I have been aspiring for next level of my career and surely have been working hard on it . Having said that all that work goes in vain if the interviewer is unable to understand the gravity/impact of your efforts. This books talks about the right questions one needs to ask oneself and ponder over it. Book also highlights importance of presentation, may it be resume or your incidences which are discussed in an interview... Overall an excellent book...

A good, solid book on interview basics. It spends much less time than most books on things like how to dress and more time on things like what specific interview questions mean, and what interviewers are looking for.

Although the title is about 'landing your dream job', the book is still useful for those of us who are interviewing for jobs which we don't think of as perfect.

There's a tiny bit of 'one size fits all' advice (the thank you card overdone? Not necessarily the case), there's a lot more which is solid and relevant.

So I read this book, and then went to an interview. I got hired! I'm not sure if it was the book or just luck, but I will say that after reading this I felt more confident when going into my interview. So that probably helped! (Also the cover has changed on amazon)

The book doesn't spend a lot of time focusing on specific questions to answer, but I like that because each interview is unique. Instead it focuses on the mindset that you need in order to ace the interview. Short, but good read overall!
