The sudden appearance of random characters was jarring

This book is a Christmas classic. It is about a reindeer named Rudolph who gets made fun of by other reindeer for having a red nose. He ends up guiding Santa Claus on his sleigh.

Excellent!

This book is clearly based on the TV version because some of the story plot leaps and twists leave you scratching your head... not that P cared!
