Delightful but short book. A bit dated, esp the photography advice. Wonderful photos. I’d love to try this. Unfortunately the best time is in the winter, so I’ll have to see if I’m still this enthusiastic six months from now. I had the honor and delight of working with the author’s window (Barbara) until about about 5 years ago when she retired.

A wonderful book, I read most of it in one sitting. I love the author's tone, so respectful and interested in the little birds he makes acquaintance with. I want to try his methods next winter!

Hand-Feeding Backyard Birds: A Step-By-Step Guide by Hugh Wiberg (Storey Publishing 1999) (598). This is a simple "how-to" guide on the training necessary to teach backyard birds to eat from one's hand. This is probably not in the birds' best interest, but I'm only a critic. My rating: 7/10, finished 2008.
