I was given an ARC for an honest review.
This was my first book by Krissy V. That being said it won't be my last. I would like to see what else she has to offer.

This is like a modern day story of "the ugly duckling". Finding your inner beauty and who you really are.
I did feel like this story was rushed and that the relationship in the end jumped way to quick.
The reason I like this book so much was because I could relate to Faith. The feelings of hate towards yourself are real for some. Always w

„Beauty Within” is my first book by Krissy V. It’s modern Ugly Duckling story.
We first meet Faith in the office she works. She’s pinning after her boss - Dwain.
and Oh My God! He’s fucking asshole! If I could jump into the book I would punch him in the throat.
Unfortunately Faith doesn’t see his flaws and thinks she’s not good enough for him to notice her.

Faith has issues with her confidence, she feels ugly and fat. I think most people can relate to these feelings, but it doesn’t explains wh

This is the first book which I have read from this author, and it will not be the last.
I think the author did a good job of writing about a subject such as self-esteem which I am suppose we have all dealt with in one form or another. I wanted to shake Faith at times with the obsession which she had for her ex boss Dwain when she could not see the real person he was despite all of the warnings from her friends. Enter Toby who loves her and thinks she is beautiful the way she is.
This is an enjoyab

I thought that this book was really sweet. It is a great book on self esteem and being confident in yourself. I thought the story was very original. At the beginning I was not sure how much I would like this book because the main character was annoying. However that was the point of the book so keep reading it beyond the first quarter. There were a couple of character inconsistencies that I didn't like such as Sasha which is why I did not give the book five stars. I don't understand how she coul ...more

This was my first read by this author and I have to say I wasn't a big fan of this story mainly just the main character Faith. The characters were all detailed and you kind of got to know them through Faiths eyes. But to me Faith was so obsessed about everything. Her looks, her boss, getting work done so people noticed her. Yes this was like a modern take on The Ugly Duckling and that was a good storyline but I felt rushed in parts and dragged or repetitive in others . ...more

I did like this story, I thought it was beautiful. For Faith to want to change herself to get one man who wouldn't even appreciate her would be criminal and so thinks her surgeon who really doesn't want to take a knife to what he thinks is Faith's perfect body. Faith loves Dwain, Toby loves Faith, Dwain loves Himself, what will happen, who will Faith end up with?? ...more

This book was a good emotional read and I loved how Faith grew to love herself, speaking from experience it's really hard when you have a low self esteem because you see yourself differently than others do.
I wanted Faith to stick up for herself with Dwain who was her boss because I didn't like how he belittled her!

I really enjoyed this story which was loosely based on The Ugly Duckling. I liked the writing style and found that it flowed throughout.
Unfortunately I just could not gel with the characters especially Faith, I found her immature and self-centred. That said I'm sure you will find it a very enjoyable book. 3.5 stars.

I loved this book as its about self esteem, and about how we all have things were are not happy about with ourselves. This book high lights how we should never change ourselves for a man and if ur happy on the inside it shows on the outside. Absolutely loved this book, great writing xx

Faith is in love with her boss Dwain but he wont give her the time of day. So when opportunity strikes she decides an extreme make over is exactly what she needs. Enter in the very sexy Dr Toby Whyte who ends up helping her realize that she is beautiful just the way she is. Now I’m sorry to have to say this but I thought Faith’s character was a bit stupid especially when it came to her boss. If I was Toby, I would have gone the other way and not wasted my time. Loved Toby’s character. He’s what ...more

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Krissy V has outdone herself again with this story. It is full of emotions. I love how Krissy puts an unique spin on an "Ugly Duckling" Story. This story is well written and you can relate to Faith.
I relate to this story alot, with the "Ugly Duckling" aspect of the book. Krissy tells the story to make you feel and see that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder and that beauty lies within.

Faith has a very low self-esteem and

Love this story of finding your beauty within. This story is such an inspiration. Beauty on the outside doesn't always mean there is beauty on the inside. All of us have flaws, but true beauty comes from within. Toby and Faith are such great characters! Faith thinks that she has to make physical changes to make herself beautiful and so she is considering cosmetic surgery. When she meets the doctor for a consultation she is stunned how gorgeous he is. The doctor introduces himself as Toby and he ...more

I was given this for an honest review. Ok so at first I was was having a hard time with his book, it seemed almost like I was reliving a part of my life. A part I hated most about being a teenager in high school and the beginning of my adult life, something I never want to go back to. I kept reading though. I was very intridged with the Ugly Duckling references. As I read I got more into it.

So this is my first read by Krissy V and I loved it, it's a modern day story of the ugly duckling that finds herself turning into a beautiful swan. It's fabulously written with great flow and great characters you will feel an emotional connection to.

Title: Beauty Within
Author: Krissy V
Series: standalone
Genre: romance/self-discovery
POV: Faith
Rating: *

I'm going to be straightforward with this and say that I really, really didn't enjoy it. I read it all in one sitting, and it felt incredibly rushed and shallow, despite its theme of self-discovery and acceptance. Krissy V was unfortunately telling us rather than showing us.

Faith was a wet paper bag. She had no personality and I wanted to absolutely throttle her for her irritating outlook on li

Even knowing that this story was based on The Ugly Duckling, it just didn't quite hit my happy spot. Technically, the story was written well, and the characters were fully fleshed out - but I didn't like Faith very much. She was so obsessed with appearances that she seemed extremely shallow & MUCH younger than her age. And as much as I loved Toby (and what he stood for), I couldn't connect with him either. Maybe it's just me (and it most likely is), but this book just wasn't my "cup of tea".

What a fantastic book about realizing your inner beauty. I loved the idea the author had for this book, it is such a great message. There are a lot of popular books out there where the male characters always talk down to the females and people love this books.

I think that a lot of people will be able to relate to the "Ugly Duckling" theme in this book. I really enjoyed how Faith's character evolved throughout the book and grew to love herself. There for a while I was worried she would continue

I was given this book for an honest opinion. I absolutely loved this book, it is so refreshing to read a book that digs deep and makes the reader think about the moral behind the story.

This isn't your usual romance as it is supposed to make each and ever reader think about themselves and the old adage 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is so true.

Faith knows what she wants and she is willing to go to drastic lengths to do it. I would never consider these options myself and I know most of th

Another amazing read from Krissy V. This is not just a love story but a story about true beauty and that it’s more than skin deep. I think a lot of women will be able to relate to this story, I know I did. It will have you saying “yup I’ve been there”.
Faith is on a journey to better herself, what she’s finds is that sometimes what you thought you always wanted isn’t really all that great.
The characters are great, the story line and the meaning is beautiful.

Arc recieved for an honest review.
This book is a self discovery of sorts and an awakening Of how you think you look as opposed to how other people view you.

If ever you have suffered with confidence issues or been affected bullied by people that might have had a hidden agenda to why they said things to you this book will strike a chord with you.

Everyone wants someone that thinks they are the swan not the ugly duckling.

This is a very sweet sensitive book about people perceptions
