Nice to look for the different named animals, but real life pictures would be more effective

If you buy one book in Spanish for your baby, it should be this one!
This is a fantastic first book to introduce to your baby. It was one of my child's top favorite books as a 6-12 month old and he still loves it a year later! As a baby, he loved that there is a hole in each page. He loved to put his finger in it. Each page is easy to turn. Each page also has cut-outs to create more texture with each animal. The variety of animals and environments is perfect and the artwork is so cute! On each set of pages, there is a clean page with only the animal and its name. On the opposite page, you look for each of those animals in their environment.

You may know the Spanish word for dog and cat, but do you know the words for hedgehog, slug, starfish, and worm? I am still working on learning Spanish, but my almost 2 year old can point to almost every animal when I ask him where it is in Spanish. This is impressive as there are 40 animals covered in the book, and even more plants and animals if you look closely.

I ask my child:

This is a board book that would be good for a toddler storytime- especially if you had enough copies for each toddler/caregiver pair. It is sturdy and has lots of familiar animals as well as some more advanced animal words like headhodge and jellyfish. Each page has a little cut out that is fun.
