Well, thank goodness! I was starting to give up hope of ever finishing a book again!

As many of my readers know, I'm hard to please. I like drama, angst, and plenty of foreplay, but none of that means much if I don't connect with the characters. I love it when I find a book that puts me in their head immediately, because once that happens, I'm them, I'm in the story, and I'm there for the long-haul.

Bend is a stand alone, contemporary romance between Jay, who is finishing up his residency at a ho

➳My attraction for friends to lovers is very dismissive, but after reading this masterpiece I will forever be searching for the one that will make my book-hangover go away because of this beauty...

➳I am honestly in love with this novel and because this is a very short review, I just want everyone to know that indeed this is a novel that everyone should read. No matter what kind of genre romance you prefer the most this novel is one that attracts any kind of audience because it has everything a

"He will either break or learn to bend."

This 'new to me' author has hit the home run, landed a whole in one and scored the perfect three pointer. There was zero about this romantic, 'friends to lovers' story that I didn't adore. I could boast about this authors talent for days, instead I'm left anxiously waiting for said author to release more words for me to fall in love with. Sweet, sweet angst and a slow burn love encounter, 'Bend' won me over with its steamy scenes and h

“So in those six or seven years or whatever, have you ever thought about having sex with me?”

Bend is Kivrin Wilson's debut novel and Oh my God for all of those holy, this author could surely knock all the feels. The synopsis of this book was what really caught me so I immediately stalk the author, signed up for a news letter and I was so glad she's giving out ARC's because seriously I was really dying to read the book pronto.

I had been struggling all weekend to get into a book, I discarded a whole pile that I started then stopped when I came across this friends to lovers romance on Amazon. Friends to lovers romances are one of my favorite themes and I was honestly craving this kind of storyline. Well, I got what I wanted and then some. This book consumed me from the very first page. IMMEDIATELY, I knew that this author's refreshing, smart writing style was right up my alley, and that, combined with a theme I adore a ...more

The friends to lovers trope seems to be a hit or miss with me these days. In this case, it was more of a miss. Even early on, I didn't feel the connection between Jay and Mia. Considering they were suppose to be best friends for six years, this didn't really seem right to me. Jay was often a bit surly and standoffish. Not sure if this is because of where the story started, but if this is the case it maybe should have been started a scene or two before hand. I got the hint that he was a bit of an ...more

First of all, I'm having a really hard time believing this is Ms. Wilson's debut novel. I was blown away by it, in fact. BEND had everything we look for as a reader with its angst, romance, prose, and plot. With a heroine that says what's on her mind, with no filter, and the ability to take a leap of faith (and initiate it!) into something life-changing, you'll fall in love with this story because of her. Secondly, the friends-to-lovers trope was perfectly done. You'll smile, swoon, and shed som ...more

all the feels. intense. sweet. hot. loved it.
Bend is one of those books that plays in your head over and over. I loved the characters. Both were stubborn, independent, intelligent and sexy without the author having to throw in their physical attributes at every mention.
Kivrin Wilson wrote an emotional story that didn't send you into the depths of a book hangover. Rather, her story was thoughtful, and her words streaked the pages with feelings that burrow into your heart and fill it with hope.

Mia is a nurse and Jay, her best friend is studying medicine and is doing his residency. Since money's short for him, he spends lots of time hanging out with Mia relaxing and mostly trying to kick her ass at video games.

They met when Jay was the roommate of a guy Mia was dating. But when the jerk cheated on her, she kicked him to the curb but kept his friendship. The perfect arrangement right? Only Jay is going to be finished school soon and plans on doing international relie

4.5 "great debut novel" stars!!!

Great friends to lovers romance. Enjoyed the characters a lot! Mia says what she means, she's uncensored/ has no filter and although she's lived a life that most would call privileged she really isn't spoiled...maybe a little unseasoned in the ways of the world. Her best friend, Jay is controlled and very much a rule follower. He's working towards a goal and nothing is going to distract him. When Mia asks if he's ever thought about her in a sexual way their relati

This is truly one of the most emotional, frustrating, and conflicting experiences I’ve had while reading a book. Now listen, I’m no stranger to angst. I actually love me some angst, when done correctly and measured in doses. And for the most part, this book does a good job at balancing its levels of angst, while simultaneously avoiding melodrama that can occur when authors think they are adding angst to a story.

This is a new author to me. As far as I know Bend is her debut novel, which is an a

Jay Bradshaw. My new book boyfriend.

I never saw him coming. Having gone through at least 5 samples (I’m a moody reader), I was ready to give up and do something productive, like clean or do laundry. Instead, I picked up this book based on a recommendation from a friend. I am so freakin happy that I dove in. I fell and I fell hard. Bend was everything I was looking for and more.

As soon as I read the synopsis for this book I was anxious for it. I loved the premise of this story. Kivrin's writing was fantastic. The pace of the story was excellent, the feels were there and her writing pulled all of them out you. This was defiantly a page turner. The characters are well developed and absolutely love-able.

I loved Jay. Loved Loved Loved him! That first scene. You know which one. OMG I died. Like melted into a puddle died. WOW. He got all sorts of hot and drool worthy there.

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers read. It's hard to believe it's a debut novel for this author because it was so well written.

The story came across as believable, not forced, and very well developed. I loved that Mia wasn't shy, spoke her mind, and knew just what to say to get under Jay's skin. It was endearing, funny, and sexy all rolled into one.

There was a side story involving Mia's family that was alluded to several times, but never really fully explored, so I was left wonde

Part of me really wanted to like this book, but really he was just an ass that she kept letting run over her. Definitely not book boyfriend material. She at least had more balls than him. Also took me way too long to read because I really just couldn't get that vested. Second book this week that I took a chance on and ended up not doing it for me. The other was a DNF.

Loved this one!

What an excellent story. Mia and Jay are best friends, have completed college, and are both established in their career path.
All of that right there already has me happy as these characters are adults and - holy cow - they actually act like it!
There's a full range of emotions and drama in here, but it's not overly angst ridden ridiculousness to manipulate the reader. It all feels relatable and *real* for these characters who are so full of life and spirit.

3.5 Stars for me. I liked this author’s debut novel...I had a hard time liking Mia...and honestly I can’t pinpoint why. Maybe I was just frustrated with the whole we can be friends with benefits idea. I will say, however, that I am actually looking forward to Paige and Logan’s story.

Kivrin Wilson is a debut author and to say that I was impressed is an understatement. Friends to lovers is one of my favourite storylines and it either works really well or falls really flat. *4.5 Friends to lovers stars*

I'm a sucker for friends to lovers stories and this one did not disappoint. We have Mia and Jay that have been best friends for the past six years. They first met while Mia was dating Jay's roommate in college. When Mia finds out that her boyfriend had been cheating on her she dumps him and Jay decides to side with Mia and that's how they form their friendship. Fast-forward to present time and we have Mia asking Jay if he has ever thought about sleeping with her. Bec
Mia has just finished her Masters degree in nursing and is working in a great job. Nine to five hours with weekends off is hard to get in the medical field and she knows it. But she’s not exactly feeling fulfilled, especially when it comes to having someone special in her life. She’d been burned previously by a long term boyfriend so she’s unwilling to put her heart on the line once again. But a girl has needs, right? What if she were to try a friend with benefits relationship with her best frie ...more
