It's against her professional ethics. It's interfering with his big case. But... No spoilers!
Excellent first book for its kind. These are professional adults with brains, AND BODIES! I cared what happened to their relationship and what happened in their relationship was not so great for my high blood pressure. But...

Review originally posted at Gisele Reads.

Last week dear Ana (@anacoqui) reviewed on her blog, Alexa Rowan contemporary debut, Winning Her Over. I liked her review so much that I bought the book right away (limited time at $0,99!). I’m so glad I took on her recommendation, I had a great time reading it.

What is it about?

Brenna Nakamura – massage therapist – meets Calvin Wilcox – hot shot attorney – when she goes to his hotel room to give him a massage. He lives in DC but is in Boston for a two-wee

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.

Brenna Nakamura is a massage therapist trying to keep her business a float. She doesn't want to go back to her boring life as a management consultant. When she arrives at the local hotel that uses her services regularly, she thinks this is going to be another middle-aged man. But when the door opens she is met with a man that leaves her speechless. She has to be professional because her clients are off

This is a sweet and enjoyable read. You know when you just want something light and sexy, without too much angst? Well this would definitely hit the spot. It has some lovely humour, some very thoughtful moments and plenty of sexiness. Cal has some growing up to do, law firm partner material or not. Brenna has veered away from a preset path and it has already cost her one relationship, so she is not keen to have history r

A perfectly lovely debut contemporary romance from Alexa Rowan. Winning Her Over finds lawyer Cal and management consultant turned massage therapist Brenna navigating the challenges of a friends-with-benefits long distance relationship that threatens to develop into something more.

When Brenna arrives at Cal's hotel to give him a massage during a stressful trial, he asks her out after their session and she turns him down flat. Not only might it harm her new massage business, it's unethical to dat

A fun, sexy, quick read. I cared about the characters and their relationship. I enjoyed the writing, as well. Looking forward to the next book from this author!

Winning Her Over is a fun read, primarily because Brenna Nakamura, a massage therapist is such a hoot. While Calvin Wilcox, is satisfying as a hero, this is definitely a heroine driven novel. Which I like.

Although Winning Her Over is the first in Alexa Rowan’s new BigLaw Series, it is a stand-alone book. The story is a sweet tale of girl meets boy, boy screws up, boy wins girl back, and everyone lives happily ever after. It is a quick, uncomplicated read. Unfortunately, that is a criticism as well as a compliment.

Cal Wilcox is unrealistically hot, as most romance heroes are, and probably more so when you consider the hours that are involved with making partner at a major law firm. His ambition do

The beginning to Winning Her Over was fun and a bit flirty (Brenna’s a massage therapist and Cal was her client that night as he was in the city for business). I liked Rowan’s writing style and found it easy to relax and enjoy the story.

It’s odd, but I actually found the two “solo” sex scenes sexier than the actual sex scenes. The first was Brenna getting herself off at home shortly after they met, the second was a phone sex scene later in their relationship. I can’t even pinpoint what it was ab

A category-length indie contemporary, the debut book from one of my fellow NECRWA chapter mates. (I bought my own copy of the book, FYI)

A former management consultant turned massage therapist finds herself unexpectedly attracted to a client, a DC attorney visiting Boston for an important trial. But Brenna Nakamura knows well enough not to mix business with pleasure. But when the two run into each other again, Brenna can't help wondering at what point a client becomes an ex-client. And when atto

This book has an Asian-American female MC.

The white male MC asks "Where are you from originally? You look like you're from an island in the South Pacific or something."

And then his internal narration says: "The exotic tilt at the corners of her golden brown eyes..."

This is within the first 10% of the book.

Unless the title "Winning Her Over" refers to this white guy unlearning his racism, I'm out.
