Kathyrn Sinclair needs to sit down--quickly! She'd answered her front door expecting her boss and his wife. Instead she found herself face-to-face with the one person she never expected to see again: her supposedly deceased husband! But there he stands, as impressive as ever, ready and waiting to take up life where he left off. Well, Kathryn isn't interested! She's done just fine without him, thank you. And Nick Egan is not getting back into her life. But Nick, and their precocious boys, have other ideas. This was one of the first Christian romances I read many years ago and it's been on my keeper shelf ever since. Yesterday I took it down and reread it. Now I remember why I liked it so much. It's a warm and funny story of two people who are really meant for each other. I liked Kathryn, the heroine; she's skeptical and vulnerable when Nick comes back into her life. And I liked Nick, the hero. It's a well written story that's hard to put down.

This is a book I read 21 years ago, so I didn't remember much about it. It was an enjoyable light, and clean read

Nick Egan was presumably killed on a 3rd world journalism assignment leaving his wife Kathryn thinking she's a widow when she'd asked to be a divorcee. Now 6.5 years later, he reappears on her doorstep - recently released from captivity. Kathryn had hated how much he was gone from her and her son - now two, as she was pregnant when he left 3 years after their marriage. He's had a spiritual rebirth thanks to the priest he was incarcerated with and now wants to make amends. Kathryn is naturally ware, but still attracted. They boys are enthralled. A series of mishaps bring them together and apart, but eventually they work out the mistrust problems.

Christian overtures throughout but semi-sweet story. I wanted to kick them both at times. Clean.

The book flowed well and has likable characters. It was an inspiration to keep God on the forefront in everything. Kathy had avoided God since her husband was presumed dead. When Nick came home one day, she still resisted trusting in God. It was her angels that had guided her and turned her heart back to God. Clean and easy to read and relate.

This is one of those books that you'll read over and over. Linda Windsor is by far one of my favorite authors. She ranks right up there with Lori Wick and Deeanne Gist. I have read this book, oh 6 times now? I love it. It's a great standby for when you don't know what to read.

I really enjoyed the storyline of this book, it was unique and fresh! Very romantic and sweet, lots of parts made me go aww. :) But still enough action to keep it going. The characters were likable and realistic which I appreciate. Overall a well done book. I loved it!

Such a great concept, ripe with dramatic and romantic potential...and so wasted in this uninspired novel :(
