This book is a great guide to how to prepare yourself and adjust your beliefs on Christ as the center of your life RATHER than a guide to prayer. The book covers one of the longest chapters in the Bible where Jesus prayed to the Father that He wishes that the ones He was sent for (his disciples, his followers, and the elect or chosen ones) would receive Him the way the Father receives the Son. I believe it's John 17. He breaks it down for the reader to understand that to pray you must be set apart for Holiness, that you must live in the world but not be of the world, and that you must understand that the Spirit is at work in you to transform you by the renewing of your mind. It is hardly a book on prayer itself but is still a good read. I personally have a Wiersbe study Bible and that is why I picked up this book, but if you want more details and depth on prayer check out EM Bounds.

Great exposition on John 17, Christ’s High Priestly prayer! The reader is challenged regarding the various aspects of the pray! Great read!!

This book written by the well known (at least in some circles) Baptist minister Warren Wiersbe was an excellent representation of not only the holiest of prayers ever uttered, but also a good representation of Christian living. Many statements made by the author cut like a knife to the soul of the reader. The fruit of the words written were a feast for the new believer and just as nourishing to the mature disciple. A must read for those who dare venture deeper into their prayer life.

While I agreed with almost everything this book said, I did not find this book especially helpful. I was hoping for more specific teaching regarding prayer and a more in-depth analysis of Jesus' prayer in John 17. It might be more helpful for young believers.

This is an expository on John 17. I read this several months ago but failed to do a review.
