Pádraig Pearse And The Easter Rising 1916

Rate this book
Easter Week 1916. The time of the great rebellion. They call it the Easter Rising. The Irish Volunteers take on the mighty British Empire, fighting for freedom from British rule, led by school principal, barrister and poet Padraig Pearse.
Even though Pearse and his Volunteers were defeated, and he and the other leaders were shot by firing squad, their names will be remembered forever, because he knew that 'Ireland unfree will never be at peace'.

It was neat to read this book. Padraig pearse is my great great great Granddad’s half brother and it was cool to read about him.

Nicely told for kids. This is a story I, as someone who isn't Irish, knew VERY little about and I appreciated the solid overview. I think this would be interesting for kids...good details.
