The two original Mocklore novels in one volume!
Splashdance Silver
Liquid Gold

Kassa Daggersharp has just heard word that her dad’s dead and she’s heir to a vast silver treasure-trove from the famous Splashdance pirate ship.

But in grand pirate tradition, the last will and testament of Vicious Bigbeard Daggersharp doesn’t actually say where the silver is. And to add to Kassa’s woes, everyone – from legendary royal champion and pin-up boy Aragon Silversword to the the Emperor Lady Talle – seems to be trying to find and claim the silver for themselves.

–§–§–§–§–§–

Liquid gold – the most seductively dangerous substance in the history of the cosmos – has just been discovered in the Mocklore Empire. But no sooner does its creator, Mistress Opia, realise its breathtaking capacity to manipulate time than Sparrow, the troll-raised mercenary, steals it away.

With the liquid gold unleashed, nothing will ever be the same again, certainly not for Kassa Daggersharp, who is unexpectedly killed by a rampaging trinket. As the Underworld’s latest client, Kassa is in a position to notice that something is terribly wrong with the afterlife – and everywhere else.

Comedy pirates, saucy witches, magical explosions, gratuitous historical trivia and flying sheep…

Praise for the Mocklore Chronicles…
“Magical. Such detail. A bloody blast.”
—Lisa Gormley
“…this is comic fantasy, and very much in the Pratchett vein…”
—Jonathan Strahan

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

A young lady has to decide whether to be a pirate or a witch, which seems odd to me, as I read a number of books with pirate witch-queens as characters, but whatever.

I think this is a parody.

I read both of these books when they were first released and absolutely fell in love. Don't bother reading my review, just know you're in good hands and go read!

Zany, magical and with a redhead who kicks butt, who would want to miss a story about a person trying to decide between becoming a pirate or a witch as is their birthright. Full of laughs and pacing that keeps you up all night long, these two books will always hold a special place in my heart.

This was hilarious. Roberts throws a bunch of fantasy tropes into a blender, and the result is a high speed, joyous adventure. Kassa Daggersharp is the daughter of pirates and witches, and doesn't want to pick which identity to stick with quite yet. Aragon Silversword is a former royal champion/famous betrayer who has to choose what side he's on. Daggar is Kassa's feckless cousin and kind of a slacker thief.

When Kassa's father dies, she has to find his legendary silver. The only problem is that everyone else wants it too. I don't even know how to describe all the shenanigans and double crossed they go through, but it was such fun and a delight to read--I stayed up way too late reading it. Book two in this omnibus brings in gods and time travel, and it's just as much madcap fun. Couldn't be happier to see there's a book 3 as well.

Having previously read book 3, it was time to read books 1 & 2. Which is kind of fitting given the time travel shenanigans of book 2.

This omnibus is ridiculously magical & piratical shenanigans from beginning to end. I absolutely loved it, from the romantic hero that would really prefer to betray everyone & leave now please to the flying sheep. Kassa Daggersharp is the best kind of Pirate Queen.
