A slight improvement to the first book but holy shit the writing and editing is just terrible. The idea of the book is interesting however the rest is just plain. Apologize please however after The autor had written so many continuations after the first books it should be at least the first wrong attempts to edit properly. And I have read the already revised version.

(Im using g-translate so I would like to apologize for my english.)

Engineering murder (Athena Lee vol.2)

The Athena Lee books if you can call them such , being so short! Are really fun reads with a lot of funny pop culture references .
They are however too damm short , just as soon as you begin getting settled into the story plot and start to enjoy where it might be heading , pow ! It's over. I know that these were the authors first forays into the science fiction genre, but if your going to get in the pool, do more than dip you're toe in.
Your writing is OK just dive in all the way, get wet! Take a swim, do a few laps. So to speak.

Athena Lee 2

Very Quick read (s). Reminds me of the First couple books in the Kris Longknife Series. Athena Lee is a genius level engineer. She has 'engineered' the destruction of navy vessel carrying a member of a highly placed Political and economic family, (like the Peterwalds). There are multiple assassination attempts on Athena and all are thwarted by the quick thinking and quick building of Lieutenant Lee. Lots of pop culture references, thrown in for laughs.

Good story

I enjoyed this story, but I have to question the tendency that has cropped up recently of authors only writing short “novellas” for the lack of a better word. Instead of a full length book (250-400 pages) they only write short stories (sometimes 80-140 pages) making us the readers spend a whole lot more money on books if we enjoy them. It is getting expensive and extremely frustrating.

Good follow-up but still expensive given the number of pages

It's almost like a diary of what went wrong with interesting intervals. Very condensed story, almost like a précis. In terms of words per page and pages in the book it's one of the most expensive books I've recently bought 😐

Fun, but it's a stretch to call it a book

These books are a fun quick read, but they feel more like parts of book. Not a book themselves. I'll keep reading them to see where the story goes.

Too short.

It was an enjoyable read, if a bit simplistic on the technical side. Ive read the first two, and frankly I cant call them novels, or even novellas. More like long short stories. Two together could be called a novella. But, as i said, enjoyable light reading.

Once again wow!

I have never liked such small stories. Yet these I enjoy greatly. I am like over half done with the next one. Not knowing it . I have the entire collection in my library. They are some great reads.

I wouldn't call them books they are more like a novella!

Overpriced and short

These read like headers from a good story. The 3rd book is 101 pages for 2.50. It feels like a con and even though I would enjoy it, I'm not going to buy it.

Don't bother starting this series.

Great read even if it is short

This book captured my interest right away and kept me reading through the end. Sure there are some minor grammatical errors but I just over looked them. I'm looking forward to getting book 3

Wow just gets better

Major twists and turns in this one. Politics, how I hate Politics!! I was always taught that there are consequences to your actions, well I guess that is true unless you belong to a certain family!! Well karma will bite you eventually!!

Athena is back, and is fleeing from unwarranted persecution. However she is able to engineer her way out of harm. I like the character and the series. Humor mixed with action and compelling characters makes the saga one of my favorites.

Quick reading

These books seem to be abbreviated versions of normal books. I really enjoy this diversion from the normal. If you like Readers Digest type short stories, you may enjoy this sci fi mini book. I did.

The ideas are interesting, and I was hoping this 2nd book in the series would be better than the first. It was, but not much. The writing is still terrible: short, little character development, and lots of errors. Guess I have to give up on this author.

Disappointed

I found this book Lacking in both Character development and Storyline, if I should have taken this a as Short Story or Novella, I apologize for the less than glowing review. But it seemed just as I was wanting more of Character and plot\storyline building with the Buckley family, it stopped. I really hope the next one is Better.
