This is a very informative and important book for parents of children whose mother is experiencing depression. The one disagreement I have with the author is in her insistence that the roots of depression are biochemical and must be treated with medication. As one who was treated with medication and electroconvulsive therapy for nine years (with no success), I came to find the roots of my own depression were spiritual and it was only through spiritual counselling that I found lasting freedom fro ...more

I was hoping this book would provide guidance in coping with a parent's depression, but it was mostly a book about depression containing info readily available anywhere.
